Despite 2 of my 3 pets…read morebeing covered by insurance having generated more than $70,000 to that vet in less than 16 months and having spent tens of thousands in previous years, I was beginning to feel taken advantage of. After traveling 35 minutes one way and then waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor for which I had an appointment - I decided it was time for a change. Dr. Deal's practice is about 5 minutes from my home, which makes it ideal for me. More positives include: 1. Once you are a client, you can text with the practice directly. So - there is no need to place a call or be put on hold or find a private place to talk. They have been quick to reply. You get details in writing. You can ask questions. 2. Another plus is the cleanliness of the practice. The waiting area is bright and airy. Furniture for both humans and pets. A small fridge in the waiting room holds water and a nice array of other drinks for clients who might need refreshment. 3. The receptionist has always been welcoming and pleasant. 4. You can receive invoices via e-mail. 5. You can purchase monthly meds, e.g., heartworm meds, via the online pharmacy. 6. You can schedule standing appointments, e.g., my pets have a monthly standing appointment for the clipping of nails and glands expression. 7. For some, having an HEB in the same shopping strip could be a plus. Drop your pet for services while you grocery shop or pick up your pre-ordered groceries. 8. My pets have various ailments mostly due to their respective breed. (One of my dogs takes 9 different meds 6 x daily.) It's a lot. My forte is accounting - not veterinary. Dr. Deal does a great job of explaining the very specific details of my respective pets' ailments. And he is patient with my understanding of same, i.e., he freely encourages questions. Dr. Deal doesn't assume you know . . . He makes certain that you have the knowledge that you need to keep your pets healthy. So happy that I found Livewell on Morton Ranch Road!

I should've left an honest review long ago when I made the switch. I have had nothing but great experiences with this vet from the first time. I made the switch from a previous vet I was driving out to in Fulshear because I was thinking a vet out there was going to be more reasonable than a vet in Katy. Wrong. The previous vet in Fulshear tried to tell me my cat had a few teeth that were reabsorbing and they needed to come out and it was going to cost about $1200! So that's when I finally started shopping around for other vets. Made an appointment here, the vet says she just needs a cleaning, she didn't think these teeth were bad. She did the cleaning and my cat has been great ever since. It was a couple of years ago so I don't remember the exact cost. Somewhere between $300-400. It was significantly cheaper than my previous vet and she didn't have teeth pulled unnecessarily. So then going forward I switch all of my pets here. Speaking from other experiences, this vet does not just do things to take your money. She is very reasonable and will help reduce cost when she can. For instance my cat has had trouble with ear infections before from ear mites. The last time we went she said her ears looked pretty inflamed and she probably had ear mites. She said we can test to see if she has them which will be $50 (I don't remember the exact price, this was a while ago) or we can just treat with the antibiotic ear drops. (Drops are like $20-30. That was actually a free option for me because I already had some left over from the last time she had ear mites!). She could've said she had to test to see if she had ear mites before she treated. So just things like that have given me a great impression of her overall. And the staff has been great too. No issues ever from anyone.

Its a bit of a drive from where we live but it was absolutely worth it. It was our first time visit yesterday and we were able to get an appointment on the same day for a sick visit! The lady that helped me book an appointment (Christine) was very helpful. The front desk lady that checked us in was very sweet and the gentleman that took my dogs vitals is also very nice and patient. Dr. Natalie is very caring, outgoing and knowledgeable! The place is very cozy, clean and homy. And most importantly, the prices are reasonable. Thank you for taking care of my babies!

Have returned twice and today I walked out. Today was a money grab. They over scheduled and just left us sitting in the waiting room for an hour. So many owners with their dogs just sitting. Mayde Creek's building is so fancy that I was convinced I was in the wrong place til I saw the receptionist. Tall ceilings, marble tile floors, columns outside, a mini courtyard, the whole shebang. Dr. Melody Palmer was very pleasant to chat with and said that I impressed her with my hedgehog husbandry knowledge (I then heard her go to the back and tell the vet techs back there that I knew my stuff, THEN go to the front and say the same thing- MAJOR EGO BOOST. This appointment was months ago at this point and I'm STILL preening from the compliment.) She made sure I knew everything I needed to know and was more than willing to give in depth explanations if needed. Everybody there was really friendly and since my Delilah was very curious and well behaved the appointment went by very very quickly. I did not wait long at all to begin even though I was 20 minutes early. However, and this matters to me, they are willing to listen to the owner of the animals and agree to reasonable requests. Sadly one of our beloved pets had reached the point where their pain was incurable. They allowed me to process her passing in a way which is right for me - which does not include music and low lighting and tears. I appreciate it their kindness in those moments more than I could say.
