Everyone here was so helpful and our experience was great. Our pup is very anxious by nature and the team at Katy Veterinary Clinic were so patient and supportive of our boy. They made sure that he got the best care possible and they really seemed to genuinely care about my dog's, and my wellbeing. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone in the area. read more

Katy Veterinary Clinic - Happy Pup! - Veterinarians Near Me - Katy, Texas

Our pets have been patients and taken care of and loved by the veterinarians and staff of Katy Veterinary Clinic, Katy, Texas for 52 years. In our opinion , there is no other clinic as caring and professional as Katy Vet. We board our loving German Shepherd "Doggie" with them whenever we travel (which is quite often) and "Doggie" loves each and every one who attends and takes care of him. As he enters the clinic, he walks to the reception desk and proudly lets everyone know how happy he is to be there with his most caring staff members and friends. We sincerely appreciate Katy Veterinary Clinic. Thank you for your love and professionalism you have shown our precious "fur babies" and us during the past 52 years. I just LOVE how Katy Veterinary Clinic runs their business. Dr Cleavinger, the owner, is by far the best vet around, patiently answering all questions, thinks things through & never runs up bills like some vets. (you would be surprised by some!) Today KVC had their annual Pet Wellness Day for clients. You drive through & they load you with toys, gifts & pet treats, & gifts for you!! OMG, see my picture, it was Christmas!! Lots of yummy cat treats, mice, stuffed toys, a huge cathouse for scratching & playing (kittens LOVE it!), LED lights for playing, spiral toys, balls, cute cat kitchen towels, kitchen sink cat sponges for dishes, even human fragranced hand soaps. There's a kitty Ferris wheel toy they spin to dispense treats/food, (keeps them entertained) and a cute kitten shaped spoon rest as well, and a raffle for even more. Who does that? It's everyone there: long term caring staff who remember you, happy to help & who have ALWAYS ALWAYS comforted me when I've had to say goodbye to elderly pets. Still my cats 17-19.5 yrs old, wouldn't have lived that long without the fabulous relationship with Dr. Cleavinger & her superb vet techs, and their care!!! From Tom the office mgr. to the front desk, you will be well taken care of! Thanks to everyone there! Renee read more

We've taken our 3 pups here for the past 5 years and we've always been treated so well! Their team does all they can to work with our scared & anxious elderly pups. The best distraction for our "food motivated pup" is the squeeze cheese! Lol! They are always able to get us in when needed. Truly the best clinic! read more

After viewing several disturbing videos of Catherine Berry repeatedly mistreating her horse at various competitions, I've come to the firm decision that I will never entrust my pet to her care. It is both shocking and deeply disappointing to witness someone in the veterinary profession--whose role is to advocate for the well-being of animals--demonstrate such blatant disregard for their welfare outside of the clinic. Veterinarians are expected to uphold the highest standards of compassion and respect for all animals, both in their professional duties and in their personal conduct. Unfortunately, her actions reveal a serious lack of integrity and empathy, qualities that are non-negotiable when it comes to caring for animals. I cannot in good conscience support or engage with a professional who treats animals so poorly when the spotlight is off. read more

Katy Veterinary Clinic in Katy Tx has been the best vet for our family. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and answer all of your questions. The staff are always helpful and kind. I feel good knowing our pets are being cared for by them. One of my favorite things about Katy Veterinary Clinic is that they are happy to see us and our pets when we walk through the door. Another would be the overall feeling that when we leave, we have the knowledge and supplies to care for and to give our pets the best life. Thank you to All at Katy Veterinary Clinic, you rock! Although my pup and I are not patients YET. I wanted to post this review because of the care that was given immediately when I called. We recently moved to the area and had been calling place after place to see who was available for new patients and same day treatment. Although they were scheduled tightly today, the woman I spoke to not only asked how my pup was doing first and foremost whilst expressing concern for him, she then gave us a recommendation to an emergency vet that can see him at 3:00 today. An automatic win in my book. They CARE here and we will be back end of month. read more

I've been going to Katy Vet Clinic for years. However after recent events, I will never return and if you want a caring vet, I wouldn't try it out here. My dog was really sick. She had cushings, arthritis in both knees, wounds that weren't healing. I called the vet on a Saturday after I noticed a weird growth coming out of my dogs ribs. Dr. Barry got on the phone with me and grilled me on why I still had pain meds left. She said that's why she wasn't eating -- I then explained to her that's not why I was calling (she's eating fine) and that it looks like her ribs were sticking out or Some kind of growth on her ribs. (The only reason I called on a Saturday was because they were open and had been seeing her, so I thought if I could get an appointment, great. If not I would take her to an animal hospital.) Dr. Barry then very rudely tells me she's never seen a dogs rib come out except one that has been kicked. So after insinuating I kicked my very sick dog, she tells me I shouldn't have called so late on a Saturday (it was 10:45 AM). All I simply needed to know was there were no appointments available. The growth turned into an opened wound -- we took her to Blue Pearl animal hospital and the veterinarian there was very straightforward with me. He told me she won't ever get better and those wounds won't heal because the cushings had progressed too far. In the best interest of our dog, he suggested putting her down because she was in so much pain. He said it was the worst case of arthritis he's seen. I had been going to Katy vet for over year with lots of problems with my dog. At no point did they tell me things will only get worse and her quality of life wasn't good. They chose profit (I spent thousands in treatments and meds) over the well-being of my dog. read more

The veterinarian and staff here are great. My lab puppy had a very serious life threatening condition and the vets acted quickly and with such compassion. They saved her life and we will be forever thankful. We have brought all our dogs here since we moved to Katy and I highly recommend them. There may be cheaper vets around, but the level of care here really sets them apart from other practices and I trust that they will give the best medical care to my fur babies. read more

Caring and personable vet! I previously took my golden retriever to another vet clinic for ear problems. The vet charged me for an office visit and a tech gave me ear meds. My dog would not allow me to administer them, he ran, became aggressive etc. so I called them back and asked for another solution. They "texted" me back and told me the vet was busy but to come in for another office visit. No call, no offer of help. I called Katy Vet and they got me right in!!! The Dr actually called me beforehand and asked about my concerns. She got my pet in ASAP and offered a solution that was great! They administered an ear pack that lasts a month so I don't have to wrestle my pet and deal with his anxiety of his ears being touched. The dr called back within a few days after treatment to check on him after this. This is a caring and professional vet and clinic and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a personal touch with care and concern for your pet!! Thank you for caring Dr Kari Cleavinger! You and your staff are awesome!!! And our Golden RetreivwHunter says thank you too! read more

This place is the worst, my pet just died today, they never offered any kind of help. I didn't know how to navigate this situation, all they care about is money just like every other place. Worst veterinary places ever. I took my dog in because she had a fatty tumor and they said it's all right so I go home and about 3 weeks go by and has grown so big now they won't take it off. Every time I bring my dogs for checkup, everyone is so helpful and sweet. They take care of my pups and are very patient with them.

UPDATE: 10 days after this review, they show more true colors. I go to get one pack/6 pills of next guard and they TYR TO CHARGE ME 150.00. YOU GOT ME GOOD! BRAVO! Trust me, I have arrangements for better care. I was impressed at first, but not anymore. Not worthless bad, but not great and nothing special, imo. First, I called for a refill and had to call back two days later to confirm it was ready, no big deal here, yet. Got meds home and ONLY 6 to 8 of the pills were as prescribed. THANK GOD I HAD TO CUT THEM IN HALF! and only noticed because the CORRECT pills were not scored with a line I was using to cut the INCORRECT pills in half. I let them know and they offered a month free. and said they'd "look" into it. IN MY OPINION, THEY LACK GREATLY IN QUALITY CONTROL. I made my own mistake in this situation reading their text sent back while frustrated and continued giving the wrong pill all month. But the prescription they offered sat there for 3 weeks and not one red flag went off for them. IMO, NO QUALITY CONTROL and a blatant disregard and nonchalance about it. When I go to pick that up and with no real advance notice (email sent out that morning) they are closed for training in conjunction with lunch. As far as I'm concerned, that's code for long lunch. I sent the following email 9/27/2022 in response to my last straw. I understand and support the need for staff training. I also think a medical facility, even for pets, should ALWAYS be open during stated business hours and not rely on emails to get a last-minute message (if it was) out about closures. But hey, in case of emergency call these people below - we are in training/lunch. My visit yesterday was in no shape or form an emergency but I find it very off-putting that a medical facility would be closed to train during business hours. But I guess training everybody - at once - in conjunction with lunch is more convenient for THEM!!!!!!!! Having a staff member manning the front should be doable vs a note and construction paper blocking windows telling me to go to some side door to get meds. Yes, I missed the side door part of your notice posted on YOUR FRONT DOOR (note: it was last minute which is why it infuriates me even more. THEY ARE A MEDICAL FACILITY AND SHOULD ACT LIKE IT. read more

I really enjoyed my visit with this clinic. Found them on yelp and they're just 5 minutes away from my house. Plenty of parking and green space for the pets to get it out their system before walking in. Quick check in and they made copies of my previous records for my pup. Everyone loved on him and gave him treats. Short wait for the dr (can't recall the spelling of her name but it was with a M), and she spent (what seemed like a long time) with me and answered all my questions as well as asked about our habits and day to day activities to get to know Ted and I. Was able to schedule the next appointment on a Saturday which is very convenient for my schedule. They also mailed me a thank you card which was super sweet and personable! I look forward to using them again for Ted! read more

Our family loves this clinic! We had our new puppy's first visit for shots and things went so well. From the minute we stepped foot inside the door, we knew this would be our puppy's vet. The staff was very friendly and the vet was extremely patient with all the questions our 3 little ones kept asking. I also love how they follow up after the visit. There's a questionnaire that they email in order for you to add comments or tell about your experience with them. There's a reason this place stays busy. These ladies were great! I made an appt. easily, and when I got there I had almost no wait. They treated my 16 year old cat the way the little old lady deserves; they were gentle, and considerate. They listened to everything I had to say and and took my observations seriously when a lot of vet dismiss what the owners have to say as we aren't professionals. She ran only necessary tests but was quite thorough. She treated the immediate problem, and days later when the test results came back with another issue she explained everything to me and prescribed a medicine in an easy to give topical form (my cat hates pills). The vet made sure I understood everything and that I have to bring my Tigger back in for later tests to make sure there's nothing wrong that was hidden by the immediate problems. This place get a gold star from me for there professionalism, kindness, and competence! read more

Please find another vet. This place is TERRIBLE. They are always rude and understaffed. Last time I brought my dog here they wouldn't even let me in the building with her. After jumping thru all the hoops for my dog to become a "patient" here I tried to make an appointment when my dog was injured and they did not have any availability for her to get checked out. Terrible!!!! The website claims they 6 doctors on staff?!?!? Lies I guess. Not the kind of place you want when there is an emergency or a problem with your pet :( read more

This place is AMAZING. I got a new puppy (Shiba Inu-Yuna) in January. I am fairly new to the Katy area and went to a veterinarian based on a recommendation. I understood (and was ok) with the COVID protocol there but still did not feel like this initial clinic was a good fir for Yuna and I. I started researching other vets in the area and came upon Katy Veterinarian. The first visit was nothing short of spectacular. From when we were greeted till when we left, the whole staff was WONDERFUL. Dr. Berry and her assistant (so sorry do not remember her name). greeted Yuna on the floor, let her love and lick on them, then brought her up to the table to exam her. Both were talking "puppy talk" to her while comforting her thru the exam. Afterwards, I received emails pertaining to her visit, welcoming email, visit follow up email and visit follow up phone call to make sure all was ok. Then I received a postcard from Dr. Berry welcoming us and letting us (me) know there's no question too small to withhold and not to hesitate to reach out to them if I had any concerns. Dr. Berry and her assistant definitely made us a forever client. Thank you so much, Katy Veterinarian Clinic. read more

This was my first visit to the clinic and I can't even tell you how happy I was with the service that I was provided from the very beginning. My little Chi was ill and her regular veterinarian was not available that day so I researched for other Vets in my new area and found Katy Vet Clinic. Dr. Lori Smith was the vet who looked over my Emma and she was just amazing! She took the time to explain everything that was going on and furthermore took the time to answer my 100 questions I had. She was able to find out the cause of her bleeding and gave us some medicine we were off. That evening I received an email from Dr.Smith just to let us know that it was a pleasure to meet us both and if we had any questions to either call or email her, that was a great surprise since I have never had any other Vet do that. Two days later I received a call from her office just wanting to follow up and see how Emma was feeling and she was feeling better :). Couple days later I received a postcard in the mail from Dr.Smith, yet again I was impressed. From now on they will be my ongoing vet clinic for my two pups. I can't thank her enough and her assistant Kristy for all their help and kindness. I highly recommend this vet clinic and will let all my friends know. :) read more

I cannot express how disappointed we have been with the rude and unhelpful attitude of the office staff. Today I went to pick up monthly pills for our dogs. The woman, who has straight blonde hair (I did not catch her name) who "helped" me (and I use the term help very loosely in her case) was very unpleasant. No smile or greeting when I walked in. When I brought up the possibility of buying in bulk to save money, she went ahead and ran my card anyway for just one month. She then shrugged and said, "it's probably just a few dollars" when I asked if we could cancel and redo the transaction if it would save some money. I then asked "can you please find out how much I could save?" She rolled her eyes, sighed, and said "ok". She then listed price differences in a way that did not allow easy comparison of 6 month supply bought individually vs bulk. Why couldn't she just say, it's a ...% discount? Or help with calculating? I didn't have anything to write with or a calculator to figure it out. Unfortunately this is not my first negative experience with the office staff. My spouse also experiences the same attitude every time the dogs are taken there. Today was the last straw. We will be looking elsewhere for a vet. read more

We used to take our pets go to Old Town Animal Hospital but decided to try this veterinary clinic instead after getting our first pets in several years. My male dog has been scratching himself raw since we got him. I asked the vet what we could do and the only options I was given were Benadryl and fish oil. After several days it was clear this wasn't working and my dog was bleeding from scratching. I went to another vet who prescribed Apoquel and a non-itch foam. We saw a difference in literally 2 days. The vet, receptionists and assistants were all very nice and mostly helpful at Katy Veterinary Clinic. I just don't understand why we weren't given a medication option other than Benadryl. Update 10/31/19: the clinic contacted me and apologized for miscommunication. I appreciate it - and it shows that they care for their human and furry clients. read more

We are extremely happy with the way we were treated and the treatment of Lewie our teacup chihuahua puppy. Dr. Berry was GREAT in how she handled him and understood how much he means to us.
