The food is exceptional, the service a 10 & the vibe CHECK passes. We've had the pleasure of meeting the owner one dinner night and he was extremely personable and joined us for dinner while discussing what brought us to the area & after learning we drove in JUST to dine there he was pleased. The seafood is extremely fresh The bread pudding is the perfect closing dish Chefs Kiss

He ordered The Old Same Place drink (old fashioned spinoff), and I got the Broadmoor Norteño. Both were good; mine was spicier than anticipated--made me drink a lot of water with it, which is good for me lol. I got the calamari special. It was good, not the best I've had but good. I also ordered the halibut special. It was buttery and nutty and amazing and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly salty and the potato puree and carrots made me more excited for Thanksgiving coming up! Hubby ordered the dry aged salmon special, which he also thoroughly enjoyed. He will be back during lunch sometime to try the fish and chips to see if they compare to his experience in the UK. He is dubious yet hopeful. Overall, great date night place!

You come back to a place like Happy's, and it tastes like a Michelin Star establishment compared to the seafood up in Lubbock. Where is that fish from? The ponds? Ain't no way. Happy's is a staple of Tyler. Owned by the same team as Mercados and Posados, Happy's is their only seafood establishment, and it is a fine piece of art. Inside, there's plenty of lamps and fish hanging on the walls and decor that feels strongly inspired by Mardi Gras. The truest display of their beauty is a chandelier made of Corona bottles. I was meeting my aunt and uncle for lunch with my girlfriend, and my uncle knows this place up and down. You could tell it's one of his favorite spots in Tyler by how he lit up when I suggested it as the place we go to lunch together while I was visiting. We used to go quite a bit when I was still living in Tyler, and he still knows the name of the waitresses and they love him back. I went for the Catfish Po Boy because man did it sound fire. I got it with a side of fries and fried okra. The okra was great and the fries were super crispy. The Po Boy itself was the star of the show. I unwrapped it and destroyed the entire thing. The catfish side was super crispy and delicious and had a fantastic flavor. It tasted fresh and I knew it was really special. My girlfriend got the gumbo and thought it was incredible as well along with eating half of my fried okra. Happy's might have some of the best seafood in Tyler. It's a great establishment, and I was proud to be able to show it to my visiting girlfriend as the pride and joy of some of the food Tyler has to offer. RIYL: Something fishy

We started with the onion rings for an appetizer, in fact we received our appetizer before we received our drinks.. that is how slow Kristen was. We asked for lemons a couple of times, by the time we were halfway through with our lunch, we finally received them... The onion rings were delicious! The right amount of crunch with the perfect amount of Cajun seasoning! So good! I had the catfish po boy with fried okra and French fries. The bread was a good, the catfish was tasty, very thin though. The fried okra and French fries were good too. My husband had the catfish plate, also had fried okra and French fries as his side. His catfish filets were thicker than my po boy. Food was amazing with large portions. Service needs work.
