In September we wanted some work done on our 1969 Chevelle so JR said to give them cash to order the parts & they would go ahead & order them. We gave him $800 Called the next week. Still not in. They said to call back Monday after 2. We have patience & understand things are not as fast as they use to be. Called back Monday after 2. They had the parts but couldn't fit us in this week. Call back next week. This went on every week until 10/17 when my husband said can you just put us on the schedule. They reluctantly agreed to Tuesday 11/1/2022. We brought it in & all they had done adjust something - didn't install any of the parts we had paid for. So my husband said just return the parts & give me a refund for $600. Basically $200 for the time spent returning them. JR said they couldn't. Bill said why not? There is a 90 day return policy. JR said they threw away the box. Bill asked why would you do that? It took awhile but he finally said they were using it as a display. REALLY? Hard to believe.

UPDATE 3/13/25: We ended up driving over to give them…read moreanother shot because we really need our truck's fifth gear fixed. However, we were advised to go to Standard Transmission and Gear because Diesel Works doesn't tear into transmissions like that. Which we did as we were told and drove our truck over there. I'll add a few stars for the upfront honesty. And I received a reply that they're closed every second Saturday. 3/8/25: My husband has been calling, left a message, and even drove by this morning around 8:30am (website says they open at 7am on Saturdays). However, no one was there! And there was no sign on the door stating if they'd be back later, no post on their FB page or notice on their voicemail box. I checked all avenues because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, I don't like giving low stars to local businesses.

They bought new parts then told me they had to take parts off the old part and replace parts on the new one. They lie, they cheat, and they steal your money. they broke more than they fixed and then charged me to fix what they broke. Some of the things they broke they didn't even tell me about. I left this review once before and the owner called me and said he would make it right. Then they proceeded to break more stuff and the truck still isn't fixed. This place is a joke.

I can not recommend JD Automotive Service.  It's not a review I want to write because I really like…read morethe people there.   However, the quality of service they provided was terrible and unsafe.  I had work done there multiple times over several months before noticing problems.  I have absolutely no trust in this shop and would never use them again. The last repair done was two engine oil leaks based on their inspection and recommendation.  The long story short version is that one leak wasn't fixed after after 3 trips back they deflected the issue (can't tell where it's coming from/ maybe it's a new leak/ try an after market stop leak additive) and did not stand behind their warranty. Even worse, I also had shocks installed on the front end.  They did a bad install on both Shocks and used cheap shocks with old rusted bolts.  On one of them, they didn't install all the hardware.  They also didn't put back the wheel well cover so that's gone.  In the end, the Shock actually came loose and was making a metal clinking noise as it hit other metal parts.  The shock itself was destroyed from banging around.   I  drove my truck in that unsafe condition until I found the issue.  Knowing I no longer trusted this shop I didn't care about a warranty or even considered allowing them to work on my vehicle again.  I decided to get two new Shocks put on.  I'm so glad I did two because when they took the "good" one off with all the hardware, they found out it was over tightened and was also messed up so they were both bad. My first repair there was having my front end suspension work and after the issues I've found after that repair I am really concerned that any of their work was done correctly.  It sucked having to replace the Shocks so soon after getting them put on the first time, but I'm glad it didn't do any further damage to my truck.  It could have been much worse. It was definitely a mistake using this shop. I paid them a lot of money and I learned my lesson the hard way.
