I found them to be friendly, accommodating and to top it off they had the $10.00 part that the shop in Fowler tried to charge me $60.00 for in a kit only. I have an older 5x8 made by Tru Trailer. The welds and design look like something an intern built. The storage box on the front has the hinge for the lid welded on top so water fills the box when it rains. There are very few support rails under the floor And the supports that are there seem to have no rhyme or reason. With that said the trailer has served it's purpose. I wouldn't buy another one unless they have significantly cleaned up their design and quality control. I'm guessing Tru Trailer is competitively priced and I see why. A multi-generation family owned and operated business for over 40 years, with friendly, respectful, outstanding customer service, top of the line products manufactured on site (as well as representing others), fair prices and a decent inventory prompted us to purchase the two trailers there. They even custom painted them to match our home's granite and the wife's car, at no extra cost (battleship gray)! I was looking for a small trailer to travel across country with and found trutrailers on Google. I called and spoke to Jamie. She took care of everything for me to exactly what I wanted. I was hauling my travel trailer down 99 headed on vacation when the hitch came off the ball and then had complete failure of all attachments, including the safety chains. We almost completely lost our trailer. Thanks to a Good Samaritan passing by, who happened to have a Jack, we managed to get the trailer back on the ball. He suggested I take it to Tru Trailer, which conveniently enough, was only about a mile away. I'm so happy I did. When we got there, Cody met us outside. I think he could see I was visibly shaken from the experience, being a woman traveling with three kids in the car. He was extremely pleasant, friendly and professional. He took our trailer back and started working on it right away. I took the kids to get some lunch, and within an hour an a half, they had everything replaced and ready to go! After paying an extremely fairly priced bill (it would have been SO easy to have taken advantage of me, considering our situation, but they didn't do that) we were back on the road like nothing had happened. Tom, his son Tony and the entire staff clearly know what customer service means. To make a long story short, my 5th wheel trailer lost a wheel and hub which destroyed the axle in the process. This happened while heading to Yosemite on day 1 of our vacation. Being it was late Sunday my wife and I began searching how to get the non towable trailer fixed. All of the locals in town told me 3 weeks+ to get it fixed. Monday morning a wonderful person from AAA rv repair gave me Tru Trailers name and said that is who I should call. It was before hours but I called and left a message. Within 10 minutes Tom the owner called me back ensuring me that if I could get the trailer to them I would be back on the road in a few hours! Alas a ray of Hope. We eventually got the trailer to them but it was closing time which I fully understood. They got started the next morning building a custom axle completely to spec and inspected and corrected a manufacture mistake on the other axle. Tony did several above and beyond helpful fixes and did not add to my invoice. Tru Trailer salvaged what was left of our vacation and I am grateful to have found them. For those businesses that told me even if I had an axle it would be 7-10 das to fit me in, I say to you, take a service lesson from Tru Trailer it will help your business. I also would encourage Anyone in the Fresno area to avoid the RV shops & any local automotive business for you major axle issues. On our way home to Arizona the rear axle on our fifth wheel broke on Interstate 5 west of Fresno. It was towed to a repair shop in Firebaugh and I expected it to be there at least 2 to 3 weeks. I just had one of the worst service experiences ever in my life. Im not one to complain but I felt I needed to so others might not have to go thru what I did. Without going into to much detail because it would end up being a book by the time i got done writing; this was a horrible experience from the beginning. I bought a used trailer made by tru trailer so I thought who better then the manufacturer to do some repair work. I needed some work done on the dump bed, the brakes werent working, it needed a new paint job and a few other small things. So I called Tom and asked when a good time to bring it in was. We agreed on a date in a couple weeks because they were busy. I brought it in on that day and asked when it would be done. He said two weeks, great because i needed it back in 2 weeks for work. After a week and a half i hadnt heard anything so i called. He didnt know the statues of anything, said they were behind because of the heat and manpower shortage. He said he would find out and call me back. Long story short the repair work took longer than he said so I was behind on my work now, he overcharged me based on the estimate he gave me and charged me for work we never talked about, didnt fix some of the items on the estimate even after he told me everything was ready and come get it. When i showed up some of the items he said he fixed still didn't work so i had to wait for 2 hours while they fixed them. Then when I was getting ready to leave I noticed I didn't have a license plate. He said the paint guys took it off, so they looked around for it but couldn't find it!! Really!! Then After I got home I realized he hadn't put my battery charger back on and I had some tools on the trailer that he didn't put back!! Wow. so after a few phone calls back and forth trying to get my license plate and my battery charger and tools back, he gets upset and says you're on your own now and hangs up on me. He wont return my calls now either. He is not taking any responsibility for any of it. Please be aware of this place, they are very an organized and unprofessional. And they are fraudulent. Can't say enough great things about these guys, especially Cody. My family was on a trip from AZ to Sequoia national park when the hitch on our travel trailer completely failed. An RV shop recommended we call and we are glad we did. They stayed open late for us to limp our trailer to their shop. They were incredibly gracious and helpful. Cody had our trailer fixed stronger than ever the next day, and for a very reasonable price. They really went out of their way to get us back on the road and salvage our vacation. We were stuck on the side of the road, and the estimate from all of the local RV places was at least 3 weeks to repair. I have bought three Tru Trailers in six years driving down from Sacramento each time to get the best trailer value in the state. In 2003, I ordered a 6'x10' with 4'sides dual axle single pump dump to use for property mgt. and construction hauling.My brother kept borrowing it so often he bought it off of me out of guilt for depriving me of its usage. So I contacted Tom at TT with some bright ideas on how to make it a beefier replacement . He explained that his newer model upgrade was now heavier and stronger with thicker steel and more welding along the skin/post connections and door hinges. I had two additional TRU TRAILER decals installed on the sides because so many people were interested in it and wanted to know where they could get one. I was devastated when my second trailer was stolen out of my storage yard by tweakers using portable battery operated grinders to cut off two monster locks and chains. My disappointment was short lived because my insurance and Tom got me in a brand new trailer in less than a week. To prevent any further rip offs,the trailer is always parked behind a vehicle that can't be moved out of the way due to alarms and a 6" well casing that fits into the trailer triangular yoke. I take great pride in protecting my trailer because it is the envy of Yolo Country for its sleek styling, macho construction and durability. Almost every time I go to the landfill or Home Depot , some one always inquiries about it. I hope they aren't staking me out!!!! read more
