Scheduling is a breeze and the representatives are always so pleasant and understanding. Micah is a personal favorite of mine. She has surgically removed "things" and sent them off to pathology. Results come in very quickly. Her bedside manner is way above and beyond any expectations. Micah has the ability to make the patient feel like they're truly cared about. I can't say enough good things about her and her supporting team. I have not had any elective procedures at the clinic, but everyone in the waiting room always seems to be very happy. When asked about the role of a PA, the receptionist had absolutely no idea what a physician assistant even was, she instead rudely repeated the job title over and over without providing any clarification. As a patient, it is deeply concerning that the frontline staff at a medical facility do not understand basic medical roles or the qualifications of the healthcare providers working in their own field. It makes me question the professionalism and training of the entire administrative team. If the staff lacks this fundamental knowledge, I do not feel comfortable trusting them with my scheduling or medical care. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

It's a moral one. It reflects a system that values documentation over dialogue, billing over bonding, and efficiency over empathy. It's the quiet erosion of what medicine used to be: a conversation between people who trusted each other. If we want to restore that trust, we have to reclaim time, not from patients but for them. We have to re-humanize care by giving space to the parts that don't fit in a drop-down menu. Sense of impatience, the hurry, and the sense that the doctor is listening but not hearing. Being told "We'll have to schedule another visit." "I'll only bring up one issue today." Nobody cares anymore about the patient. Did you go to medical school to help people or to help the broken system? Because when we finally stop pretending that 15 minutes is enough, we might rediscover what those minutes were supposed to mean.

Most doctors offices know that they can face major legal and professional liability for treating a minor without valid parental or guardian consent. When I got access to the portal after the fact, there was no familiy history filled in and whatever medical history and current medications were listed were either incomplete or incorrect! They even RXed medication given this lack of complete medical history knowledge! My daughter's patient portal only had stepmom's name, cell, and address?!?!!?!? Not even my daughter's dad's name listed! WOW! On top of all this, just to put a cherry on the top... they of course recommended my daugther's regiment be inclusive to all of their med spa product line!!! Simply said, a 12 year old who has normal hormonal acne (not even that bad?!?!), does NOT need to be using the same cleanser, with tons of active ingredients, that her mother does as a 52 year old!!! PERIOD!!! Shame on WLD!! If a practice is this hap hazard on such basic HIPPA and patient care guidlines with regard to seeing minors wihtout parent consent, are you really going to get your cosmetic surgery done here?!?!?

Austin Skin staff & branch manager falsely claim patient knew or agreed to labs. Patient did NOT consent or agree to labs and specifically asked labs not be run. Austin Skin is the most unethical medical office we have ever dealt with. Their staff offered us a payment plan and then charged us the FULL AMOUNT with NO NOTICE. The billing staff is negligent for not calling to confirm or authorize this charge, knowing we had signed up for a payment plan. DO NOT give them your credit card info to keep on file and do not sign up for autopay! (They claimed my husband signed up for autopay, which he did not.) The branch manager lied and said they don't offer payment plans unless it's cancer related. Well that is a bold face lie - we have the paperwork showing they did offer us a payment plan, and they charged us the entire amount without consent or calling. Between the labs we did NOT consent to and the charges we did not consent to - this has been an awful experience. Would NEVER return. Steer clear and stay far away from this unethical place. There are far better dermatologists out there with more competent staff.

When I got back to the exam room it was a quick check in and then the dr was there, again with hardly a wait. Dr. Buford was knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly and answered all of my questions. I had to have a small procedure done and she knew I was nervous and continue to talk with me to make sure I was okay. Over all the best experience I've ever had at a dermatology office!

When I asked them to send in a routine prescription refill since I was completely out of medication, the staff member flat-out told me: "I'll send it in once you pay the fee." Holding a patient's necessary medication hostage over a punitive cancellation fee while flat out in bed with vertigo is disgusting behavior. This office cares far more about squeezing extra cash out of sick patients than providing actual medical care. Avoid this place at all costs.
