A roasted half butternut pumpkin topped with a perfecly cooked egg, pomegranate gel, goats curd and pistachio dukkah. -The crabs in black another quality option: soft shell crab combining nicely with charred sweet corn finger lime, chervil, celery, chilli, black aioli and a fried egg served with on brioche. -The poke bowl another delicious healthy option. Poke bowls are all the rage at the moment and The Mews vesion with a subtle ponzu dressing and pickled mushrooms offers more flavour than most. In the leafy suburb of Mosman is a cafe tucked into a laneway, named the Mews. A good amount of outdoor tables allows you to take in the morning sunshine. We came bright and early, 8am and it was extremely busy when we left, so I'd recommend arriving early too. We talked to the owners who are absolutely delightful and keen to do the best for their customers, Daniel tells us they recently changing coffee beans for the locals, who like it "strong". Using an amazing coffee machine; the Cafe racer from san remo and the Grand cru brand, in particular the 3 bean from Brazil, Ethiopia and Kenya. A great blend and came out with some skilled latte art. The chai latte is also offered in two forms; powdered (my favourite) or brewed. I've been scoping out this cafe for weeks, if not months now and following delicious food pics on Instagram, so it was extremely difficult to pick just one thing to eat, hence we got a few to share. The food is a mix of Asian and Australian influences which makes for a beautiful fusion. We tried the Miso mush with sautéed wild mushrooms on a piece of bread, shaved edamame, black sesame, lotus chips and topped with a poached egg. Such a beautiful combination of flavours. The braised pork shakshuka, eggs, toast capsicum and tomato, chicpeas, fetta cheese and pistachio dukkah, pomegranates and roti. The Nutella lava hotcakes were fluffy, almost cake like, filled with warm Nutella and topped with Candied pancetta, lemon curd and Persian fairy floss as well as raspberries and strawberries. Vegetarian and vegan options available to it is suitable for all. A pleasure to visit this lovely cafe and the food is amazing.

The Mews is one of those sweet cafes that have an other worldly atmosphere about it - old school…read morejazz or French tunes, every table full (even on a wet Wednesday) and a friendly chatty Batista. It just feels friendly. I also love that it's off the busy streets of Mosman - Military Road is only a stones throw away but you can't hear it. Sandwiches to order, fresh appetizing salads (no old lettuce leaves or half filled bowls), fresh takeaway meals (like moussaka) ready to go and a variety of dishes that mean you could go there everyday for a month an have something different. I had the Thai Chicken ball for $6 - delicious and just enough for lunch. The mint leaves on top were a nice touch to the flavor and appearance. This and other gluten free options are market with a red sticker in the cabinet but there is no gluten free bread for sandwiches. Kid friendly. No wifi. Toilet are worth a mention. They aren't in the cafe but around the corner and are shared with other businesses in the vicinity. They are pretty dirty and the waitress gives you a brown paper bag filled with toilet roll and napkins. A bit awkward but worth this minor glitch as the cafe is very cute indeed. Quaint silver shell shaped tea spoon with my mocha and a glass encased white orchard beside my computer on the window bench I type from - ahhh the little things!

Date of Visit: 6th January 2025…read more Our dining experience at Kazzi Greek Beach restaurant was terrible due to a serious food safety issue and inappropriate follow up from owner. My wife discovered a cockroach in her meal, either barbecued with the prawns or swimming in the halloumi and fig salad. The manager, Peter, moved us on quickly without charge and when I spoke to the owner later that day, his response was to minimise the issue, referencing his pest control bill, and swore at me when I suggested a goodwill donation to charity. On Google the owner wrote a completely misleading response in an attempt to discredit this review. It is untrue. I suggested he donate $1000 to a charity for the less fortunate. He offered $50. When I said that was a poor response he proceeded to swear at me over the phone calling me an f....ing moron and accusing me of blackmail. His response is a tactic designed to minimise and discredit which I note he has done to other poor reviews to his restaurant, One person found a piece of metal in their food. Clearly there is a problem. Look at the photos

That said, while paying I overheard the kitchen saying they were getting slammed, and so it could be that either someone didn't show for work, or some other reason kept this rustic cafe from being at it's best, but either way, I am unlikely to go back. One the positive side, the atmosphere in this cafe is great. While some of the chairs appear a bit rickety, they add to the rustic feel inside. The range of food also looked quite nice (though we stuck to the coffees). So.. as for the coffee, from my seat I was able to watch them being made and my expectations dropped with each minute. For me, seeing a dbl mac sitting on the bench burning as 2 babychinos are made is just sad. When it arrived it was bitter and burnt... surprised I was not. My wife also ordered a Turkish coffee which seemed very little like the thick syrupy deliciousness I have had on previous occasions. All in all, I was disappointed with my experience here, but I am pretty sure that this was a once off. At least... I hope so... If our breaky experience here is anything to go by, we would return to try their other offerings either @lunch or dinner. As ones who are unfamiliar with turkish armenian food, we approached this with an open mind. Turned out that it was hardly needed. You know it when you stumble on something good. Must try! Vegetarian breaky 4/5 consisted of grilled mushrooms, tossed spinach, onion, poached eggs, on feta pancake with eggplant dip. Each element was cooked without fault, ermmm the feta pancake 'might' hv been prepared beforehand (not sure), the eggplant dip was a nice surprise, smoky creamy, goes well with the pancake. A nice touch which i realized closer to finishing off the plate was that the pancake has been cut into nice little squares. All the better to soak up the egg yolks. Warm yoghurt with poached eggs garlic n mint named aptly dish from raffi's mom kitchen was enjoyable. A simple well executed dish that any loving mom would cook. 3.75/5 Best order their hot fresh mint tea (see pic on my dineline) to accompany your breaky. Give them a go peeps.

Not your usual chicken shop type…read moretake away, the owner has a bunch of different rotisserie meats on offer and clearly knows his stuff. (There are a couple of articles on the wall which give a bit of background to him and he was head chef at Wildfire, which explains a lot). We tried the chicken, pork shoulder, beef picanha (rump cap) and house made chorizo, with a side of sweet potato fries and assortment of salads and we left stuffed and very happy. The quality was amazing, on par with 'The Paddington' for literally a quarter of the price (really!). It's only just opened but there already seemed to be a bunch of regular locals loving it, and I can see why as we will definitely be going back. I'll be trying the burgers next time which looked as good as the rotisserie meat - they put 180 gram patties on them for less than $10?! Lastly, I can't finish without mentioning the sauces- they make them all In house and they are sensational. One in particular I asked about and the owner said he has trademarked it! Some smoky mayo or something I couldn't stop eating it. If you go you must try this. It is refreshing to see someone ticking so many boxes in one place- quality ingredients, fantastic prices and with the Brazilian twist it's a slightly different offering from what I've come to expect from a local take away shop, which is exactly what I have been looking for.
