Have been a customer of another company for a couple years and have always been treated with…read morerespect and good service. This week, my mini split unit started leaking water. I called them to request service and it was almost like I was bothering them. I was given a first available appointment 27 days in the future. Can you believe it; 27 days!!! This is hot, humid, rainy Maine in the summer. I reiterated I was an existing customer and tried to impress on her that this was somewhat urgent and asked for a sooner date. I was told there was nothing sooner but she would escalate to a manager who would call me. 2 days later, I haven't received a call.... In the meantime, I called LaPlante Home Services who said they could be here in under 48 hours. They were polite and seemed excited that I called. The technician arrived at exactly the appointed time, did a thorough analysis of my problem, and completed the work in a little over an hour. The technician was friendly, courteous and professional. A pleasure to work with. Needless to say, I'm moving all my home service needs to LaPlante! Keep up the great work Shawn.

Joshua responded almost immediately to my request. He was kind, professional, courteous, and…read moredidn't shame me for the fact I know less than dirt about electrical work. We thought we needed a massive wiring job to get a level 2 charger installed in our garage. Joshua took time to talk on the phone about the job, asked great questions beforehand, then came out the next business day to look at the install job and give me a quote. He counselled us OUT of doing the work, and for that, I'm SO GRATEFUL. he could have easily just talked about the necessity of the job, and I wouldn't have known better. But, he's a good, ethical guy, and could appreciate our situation, and so he told us how we could make the best of our situation without massive demo and conduit, and crazy expensive wiring. And, he did it all graciously with a smile. What he got out of talking himself out of this job, is complete loyalty for any and all future jobs we'll ever need. And, I'll be telling everyone I know about him, for sure. Plus, he's a family guy, loves his wife daughter and talks about them with lots of love and pride. To me, that goes a long, long way when I think about who I want to support with my money.

We had a plugged toilet that could not be cleared with a snake. A knowledgeable friend suggested…read morethat the problem might be calcium buildup in the 30 year old toilet. Our tech Alex arrived on time as promised. After trying and failing to clear it, he arrived at the same conclusion. He was able to get a new toilet, install all in 90 minutes and left within three hours from the start of the appointment. Another thing that impressed me was that he did not try to add on additional services or products. Also when I asked him about a separate issue, he admitted that he was not familiar with the problem. He did not try to bluff his way through it. He admitted what he did not know. That means we could trust his recommendations. I would definitely call them in the future.
