The resort is 5 star for a reason. Service, Ambiance, 8 Restaurants on site including Infinity Pools and Private Beaches along with Top Notch Concierge Service. Shuttle service along with Your own Butlers per Unit. What other resort in the area offers this type of stuff.

I don't know why the reviews are bad here! The food was phenomenal, best I've ever had at an all inclusive hotel, there's a shuttle that takes you around the resort and connected resorts. You get a butler to make reservations for you. There's a cabaret show (yes it's paid entry but discounted for TRS Yucatán guests. Nightly entertainment was great. The alcohol was actual name brands.

    Rooms are super clean.

Helios Restaurant Breakfast was my favorite.Enjoyed all the various fruits.Watermelon with seeds(super hard to find in California with seeds).Papayas were fresh. The queso cottage cheese,oh my. The eggs were super orange. For those who understand, understand.Visited with friends who are Spanish speakers so they planned everything. That always makes any experience like this do great. The room are kept super clean by housekeeping along with turndown service.Try to avoid the late reservations to the teppanyaki place. But everyone loved the fried banana dessert at the teppanyaki place. We were facing the staff trying to close down and had much better hibachi style in the states.Go to the show.Order this divine drink Fanatico.Beautiful place, staff super friendly and using the apps helps.1st time?Do the La Chic Cabaret Show,The spa with the hydro massage pool...use it. Enjoy the scenery even their cute cenote. The adults only section has nice pool areas.Golf carts to pick you up at all times.

Husband and I (early 30s) celebrated our honeymoon for one week (Sept 13-20). We are already thinking about going back next year for our anniversary. We stayed in a jr. suite with a private pool. Yes the room and resort smelled earthy and our clothes were damp from the humidity but it was a given with nature! You get used to it, and oftentimes it's so hot you're gonna sweat anyways. We often enjoyed the pool at night under the starry sky. HOWEVER, it is NOT fully private. One day we were enjoying it during the morning and surprised to see employees walking past our pool. Looked like they were fixing a leak and can only access from the back. Tip - there is a button for extra lights AND JETS! Buttons are on the floor, next to the railing. FOOD -- We ate at TRS restaurants only and enjoyed them all. For breakfast, Helios had more buffet options while we liked Capricho's a la carte. Our favourite bites overall: El Guacho - Short ribs, empanadas, creamy spinach, provenzal potatoes & sauces Tentazione - burrata, mushroom soup, gnocchi. Helios (dinner) - coconut shrimp, lobster, steak Capricho (lunch) - tuna sandwich, ronchero eggs Pool Grill - whole fish, nachos, tacos and octopus THINGS TO DO -- We came to relax and enjoy each other's company, so it was perfect for us. It's definitely a more quiet resort, so if you want a party vibe this isn't really your resort. But you can make your own party (more like bar hop). Entertainment gave us things to do so we weren't just in the sun all day everyday! The entertainment is typical resort entertainment, but I noticed it is more elevated compared to other resorts. We enjoyed archery/rifle, kayaking, pre/post chic show was great entertainment while having drinks, 20s show, and water circuit at the spa. Next time we will do Bingo and the aquatic workouts. SERVICE -- The service is top notch! We felt so at ease. Some individuals that really made our days: Alexis and Erick our butlers, Maurilio and Jose at El Guacho, Faustino and Maria, and the entire welcoming crew at Helios/Capricho breakfasts. I have noticed you get better attention when you tip more. ANIMALS/BUGS -- The monkey was definitely our highlight. We saw him 3 times! Harmless guy. We saw no snakes. Mosquitos lit us up at night - bring repellant. Watch out for crabs at night, so you don't step on them. We had a few snags during our trip, but nothing is ever perfect. Nonetheless, we were happy and would be willing to go back.

This was a decent all-inclusive getaway, but I've been to better. This resort is about 1 hour away from the airport, 2 hours away if there is heavy traffic. We were greeted with complimentary drinks and hand towels. While checking in we were told we got a room upgrade (they obviously overbooked) from the outdoor jacuzzi to the pool. Unfortunately, the pool was so filled with mold we never used it. Upon asking for it to be cleaned we were met with confusion many times. The worst part about not getting the jacuzzi at our room is that we couldn't find one anywhere on the resort except at the spa which cost extra to get into. The spa is beautiful and we got wonderful massages as well as access to their hydrotherapy. The large pools on the resort were clean and staff would find seats for us if it was busy. Our room had an odd setup with no separate bathroom. The toilet and shower had their own doors but you had to walk out into the room to use the sink/mirror. This was only an issue because it was me and 2 other friends. But, we should've looked at more pictures of the rooms at this resort before booking. Shower was also filled with mold. Our room was very humid and dewy, but that could just be how it is in Mexico. The resort is so HUGE, you need a ride almost everywhere. But, there were always shuttles going by and stopping for us. The food was decent, nothing to take home, as most all-inclusives are. Our favorite was a breakfast/lunch spot called Capricho which had such a great buffet selection, I looked forward to breakfast there every morning! Dinner spots close pretty early, and most need reservations, so you need to plan your dinner ahead of time. The room service wait is close to an hour long, we often thought they forgot about us. I LOVED the Chic Cabaret, it's probably the resort's biggest asset! They put on an amazing show and served multiple courses. This was great entertainment for the night. We probably would've gone multiple nights, but the show is an extra fee. I like that there were designated adult-only areas. Staff was always so kind to us! For the cost, I do believe there are better options.

First impressions make a big deal especially when they don't follow up. The rooms are covered in mirrors, and no... No one wants to watch themselves on the toilet. Our room had a moldy shower, dirty bathtub and the wallpaper was peeling off. It was like staying at a dirty motel, but with a butler. The staff for the most part were pretty friendly. Though obviously not competent as we requested the shower be cleaned and the bathtub, yet 3 days of requests and still disgusting. Restaurants were mediocre at best. The only properly good food was at Capricho for breakfast and Tentazione for dinner. Helios and La Boheme were less than enjoyable. Jorge at the bar by the infinity pool is the best, wish we'd found him the first day of our trip. Entertaining, caring and made everything really good. Safe to say we won't be back.

The resort is wonderful! Got a room with a private pool left to swim in one of their many pools to come back to a plate of fruit!! 24 hour food and personal butler to help with whatever I needed. Iguanas came to visit and I went to pay a visit to the flamingo's. Resort was all inclusive food and drinks all day long! So many places to go and all I had to do was tell my butler to order me a cart to take me. Only downside was the smell! Some places worse than others but I would definitely come back again.

My boyfriend and I went to TRS Yacutan Sunday-Friday, end of October/Beginning of November. Our shuttle was included (BDExperience), they were very helpful and we didn't have to wait long for a ride. We were the only ones in the shuttle and it was a peaceful ride to the resort (about an hour and a half from cancun airport). Check-in was pretty seamless, they influenced us to upgrade from a suite to a bungalow and the bungalow did not disappoint! Was very private and clean, upon entering the bungalow the floors were quite sandy but there were slippers provided so it wasn't so bad. Housekeeping kept our room spotless and always added nice touches. I ended up using the bungalow jacuzzi every night we stayed and my favorite part was the outdoor shower and the hammock on the bungalow patio. Our butler greeted us at our bungalow and made us feel taken care of. We walked around the resort to get a good feel of everything since you have access to all the sister resorts there was a LOT to see. Day 2 we hung out at the infinity pool and had drinks and met some other younger travelers/couples and drank with them by the pool. I accidentally left my book and nobody was able to find it but that was my fault so no big deal. We also checked out the gym at the spa Day 2. When upgrading to the bungalow, we were told we could use the hydrotherapy at the spa during our stay for free in return. At the spa, we were told we could only use the hydrotherapy if we bought a massage or facial We decided against it and just used the gym, the gym was pretty nice with a decent selection of equipment. We got a tour of the spa and the amenities that come along with buying a massage and facial definitely looked worth it! (Steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, cold plunge, etc). Food: First restaurant we tried was the French spot, COMICALLY bad food. We went to the sports bar after to get a quick bite since the french was disappointing and the sports bar's wings and chicken strips were pretty bad too. HOWEVER, every other place we ate at was phenomenal. Capricho and Helios buffets were delicious, Caprichos lunch was 10/10, el gaucho was 10/10, Bahia e brasa at the sister resort Colonial (maybe white sands?) was 10/10, and we did the chic cabaret dinner which they also included for us for upgrading to a bungalow which was nice considering tickets are usually 55 a person, the show was fun but definitely catered to a little older crowd than my boyfriend and I (we are in our mid twenties). the food at the show was fine but it was more of a gourmet experience. We were there during halloween and dia de los muertos, the halloween party was a little lame but just because not many people on the resort turned out, the dia de los muertos celebration was BEAUTIFUL. The views, 10/10, the staff, 10/10, the food, 9/10. Loved being around adults (adults only resort at trs yacutan, sister resorts allow children), and would definitely come back. Only think we didn't like was how chill the resort was, my boyfriend and I are definitely bigger parties and would try more of a "party" resort next time :)

My fiancee and I spent 7 lovely and relaxing days here on vacation. We changed rooms 3x while here (once not by choice and another was an upgrade) so I can speak to almost all the available rooms here. We stayed at first in a suite with a private plunge pool which was in building 63 so a bit away from the pool and more private and quiet. It was nice, but located on the first floor and not well sound-proofed, we could hear the people above us stomping around non-stop from 7am-9am. We immediately requested to be moved and were moved to a 3rd floor suite with a jacuzzi on the terrace in building 69. Finally, after two days we moved for the rest of the stay to one of the private cabana suites with an outdoor shower and soaking massage tub in the room with a private water-side balcony with a canoe. We loved the last two rooms and our butlers in building 69 were absolutely phenomenal. All rooms come with a butler who can update the snacks and drinks in your room, schedule dinners, and random other small things like arranging breakfast if you leave early, etc. The grounds of this place are stunning. Very well-done and well-maintained with a nice 2.5 or so mile running trail. The star of the show is the massive adults-only infinity pool overlooking the ocean where there are two bars and Helios within easy walking distance and there is always someone outside grilling fresh items by the bar for lunch (like tacos, pork ribs, BBQ, etc.). The staff at the pool host entertainment in the evenings poolside and also have several activities you can do as workouts including yoga, jumping, pilates, abs, water aerobics and water cycling. I did several and had such a good time doing it that it was infectious and you wanted to keep going. A great way to keep people active while laying at the pool. They would walk around with a sign telling you when the next activity was and where and encourage you to join. This is an all-inclusive resort so that includes food and alcohol, which is nice, but you're still loosely encouraged to tip. There are some cons: 1- Overall wear and tear - some of the items in the rooms were broken or needed repair and some lights didn't work in places. 2- Butler services are hit or miss, we often had to book rooms on our own for dinners through the app. 3- Food is not that good. We dined at all the TRS restaurants and only liked Helios, Terrazone, and Capricho. The French restaurant, La Boheme that most people seem to enjoy served food like Disney, cold items prepared en masse in the kitchen. It was not good. The El Gaucho steakhouse had poor service and fatty cuts of beef. Not impressive. A few nights we dined at the other spots off TRS property available to guests at the other three connected resorts and found them to be even worse with few options, small portions, harried service, and loud children. Specifically disappointed by our meal at La Lola. Overall, we loved our time here and enjoyed the beautiful TRS property and the staff who are mostly friendly and accommodating. Aside from a few things noted above, we'd give it a solid 4 or so stars.

My boyfriend and I go to Mexico once a year to try a new hotel in the Cancun/Riveria Maya region every year. This year we chose the TRS based on the 5-star rating and great reviews, after our 4 days here...we are very disappointed to say the least. Pros: The property itself is stunning! Beautifully kept grounds, great pools, nice rooms. 10/10 The staff here is very sweet. All of them were very nice and welcoming for the most part. Cons: Reservation system - you can not dine wherever you want. You have to book a dinner reservation in advance at ANY of the restaurants on property. Dinner reservations book out days in advance which we were not told, so when we arrived and went to make dinner reservations, everywhere we wanted to eat was already booked up. It was extremely disappointing and no one told us this until we arrived. Even though dinner reservations were booked up, you would look in the restaurant and it would be over half way empty. The hostesses at the buffets drove me nuts, I shouldn't have to wait in a 10 minute line to be seated down at a buffet only restaurant. For the on property activities, you also have to make reservations in advance. We were unable to do a couple of the activities because again they were all booked up. We also wanted to play pickleball when we were there but the whole week the courts were reserved for a pickle ball party - no one told us this. Not being able to do any activities was disappointing. The butler was very sweet but in order to get anything done you would have to ask them SEVERAL times to do something. We had a broken tv and fridge in the room - never fixed. Asked multiple times for a toothbrush to be brought to my room, took 24 hours - it was ridiculous. The app was also not letting us book dinner reservations so we had to do everything through the butler. Food - the food was extremely disappointing. Lacked flavor. Was just not good. The worst meals were at Chic Cabaret - over half was inedible, and the Italian restaurant. The best meal of the trip was the steakhouse and the only food I would recommend. The sports bar at the Grand Palladium next door was TERRIBLE. Worst food and service ever. Took 45 minutes to get burnt onion calamari. Lastly, the BD Experience was a TERRIBLE experience. The lady at the desk fought with me about moving transportation times. They separated us and our family on different buses even though we had the same flight time. I will never use them again. Overall if you don't mind okay food, slow service, and making reservations in advance then this is the place for you. But for me and the price we paid to stay here, we will not be returning.

The rooms are closer to the beach and the ocean, and it had good value for the price. Four or five restaurants to choose from and friendly accommodating staff. You can snorkel around the jetty and see some big fish, and the beach is swimmable for most except when the surf was sometimes powerful. Even then we went in. The main pool was grande and with a swim up bar. The windowless internet room was a furnace. Not good. The French restaurant was unpleasantly hot inside and the gourmet "tasting" dinner was a dog and pony show. Truth be told, I wouldn't want to be "trapped here" without a car since the location is fairly remote and I would get bored. This is really a Mexican National vacation resort, so plenty of screaming kids running around. This is not the relaxation haven like Ceiba Del Mar, which we left to come here. But we had a car so no worries. Be Live was a good base to cruise all around to the area attractions: the ruins at Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, the underground cenotes and lots more. Lets be blunt: if you're too much of a pussy to drive in Mexico, stay somewhere else. With a balcony room overlooking the beach and just yards from the ocean, I have to give it five stars just for that. My pictures will show you the awesome room location.

My question to the staff- if I am at an all inclusive hotel, the rooms are basic and so is the food ...I am paying a large amount of money for the service I am getting , so if I don't tip at every step, every cup of water , every coffee, every hello- I should be still getting a the hospitality that is aldready included in the price.

They try hard to keep the beach free of sea grass. Marco at the Portofino restaurant was great! Alex at the buffet, who recognized us in Playa del Carmen, was a personality. The poor guy my wife finally tracked down at nine at night to get towels that worked his butt off to help us out (didn't get his name). The sports fields are really nice. With that said, I had two rooms for my family of 5 (including three teenagers) for six days. We picked the hotel because it offered unlimited à la carte dinners. What they don't tell you is that they are generally booked up 2-3 days out and you can't book more than 2 days in advance. So we get there and are told me can't go to a special restaurant for the first two days. We're looking at the buffets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner exclusively. They're not great, and the choices never materially change. We then made a mistake by not trying to book Thursday and Friday dinner until Wednesday morning to be told... they're all booked up. I was finally able to get the concierge to get us into a dinner on Friday. Please keep in mind that most restaurants are only half-filled, but they are supposedly at capacity. We got into dinner on Thursday by visiting 7 different restaurants before we found a manager who was able to fit us in his half-empty restaurant. Housekeeping was terrible. For one room, they cleaned it on the second day. We had to escalate the issue three times, wait six hours to receive new towels, cups, and for the room to be cleaned on the 5th day. We then had to complain again on the last full day to get the room cleaned! We got comfortable going into the service corridors to get our own towels. We also grew tired of being told that certain features, pools, or drinks were "extra" for "Family Select" or "Preferred" members. I spent $5K for the hotel alone to be told that the basics and amenities were extra. Get used to waiting in lines... for the buffets, the bars, the concierge, etc. We waited an hour and a half at the sports bar (the only restaurant available between lunch and dinner) for terrible food. For example, the garlic bread was half a toasted hot dog bun. The potato skins were half a mid-sized potato. The two jalapeno poppers were roughly 2 inches long. You get the idea. At times, I waited 20-30 minutes to talk to the concierges. There would often be one on duty in each lobby for a hotel with many hundreds of rooms. Overzealous staff kept telling us what we could not do. I couldn't take drinks from the bar (soda) into the sports bar where we were waiting. My son couldn't carry an alcoholic drink for his mother (with me by his side). The entertainment was mediocre at best. Most resorts bring in travelling entertainers with good shows. Not here. The same group of hardworking dancers work all of their shows. Don't expect much variety. My teenagers got plenty of sleep. They had nothing to do at night and complained they were bored. For a family-friendly resort, it caters to young families and little kids. There's no teen club or teen parties. Activities scheduled through the resort (dive shop, excursions, massages) are ludicrously expensive. We got better options from the guys walking the beach. There were other issues, but to top it off, after complaining to the concierge *(especially about the lack of housekeeping, towels, and dinner reservations). They offered us two free hydro-therapy sessions (normally extra cost) at the spa as compensation. So... basically they offered us access to the only hot tubs we found for one-time use. That's not quite cutting it. Finally, we were never given the chance to talk to a manager or supervisor to try to make things right. THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE. Now that I've written the review, let's see if we hear anything.

We were looking for a smaller resort, not somewhere you had to take a trolley to go everywhere, you could walk across this resort in a few min. My first thoughts upon arrival were how beautiful and tropical it felt. The view from our room was amazing! I believe all rooms have waterview? We did get to try all 4 al la carts and the meals were fantastic! We really enjoyed.. the Brazilian / steakhouse! The staff were excellent, especially Alan in customer service, he went way up and beyond! German always there to help around the pool area.. and many others whose names escape me. The music at night was just right, Raymond playing for awhile and then bands would play for an hour or 2.. done by 1030 -11 so not too late, it is not a big party place, was exactly to out liking! I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a great reort to relax and can't wait to return!

Downsides were: food/drink quality - nothing I ate or drank here blew me away, including buffet or specialty restaurants, availability of daybeds are limited- if you don't wake up before 7am to snag one, they all will be occupied by either people or their belongings marking territory, limited activities if you're not into snorkeling or water stuff. They had a tequila tasting and one night claimed to have salsa lessons but that didn't happen. The rooms are ok but getting to them, you'll see lots of bugs. I guess it is the middle of the jungle but be prepared!

The…read morecheck-in process was simple, and I really liked that the wristbands were also the room keys. Between all the connecting resorts, the property was massive, and a little tricky to navigate at first. Luckily, it was pretty easy getting a golf cart to your destination, if you didn't feel like walking. We spent a lot of time at the White Sands and Colonial pools, which both had swim-up bars. The beach was also nice, although there was some seaweed, and parts were restricted due to the presence of lionfish. Our room was very spacious, and I loved the rain shower head. There was also a separate bathtub/jacuzzi, but we never got around to using that. The bed was comfortable and having a little balcony was nice. We did wake up to a leak in our ceiling one morning, but they impressively quick about getting that fixed. The food situation was hit and miss. The buffets had a huge selection, but the quality of the food really varied. They were also open/closed at odd times, and it was strangely difficult to find food at some points in the day. The Xtra Time Sports Bar was open 24 hours a day, but the food there was actually just bad. We managed to make dinner reservations for most nights, although many of the restaurants booked up very quickly. We tried Poseidon, Bahia e Brasa, Portofino, and La Paisana. Sumptori was apparently the most popular restaurant, but we ended up missing that reservation. Poseidon was nice because it was on the beach, but none of the food was all that great. My favorite of the restaurants was probably Portofino, but the pastas were a lot better than the pizzas. The best thing about the food was the availability of fresh fruit and other healthy options. The resort also had a nice gym and spa area. I got my hair done for the wedding, but I can't say I recommend this service. First off, my blowout cost $115 USD, which was insane. Once the stylist had washed and blow dried my hair, she said that curling/styling wasn't included in the price of a blowout, only a straight dry. She ended up hastily curling my hair as a favor, but it really wasn't the best. The wildlife on the resort property was one of the highlights of our stay! There were so many iguanas, coati, raccoons, agouti, etc. wandering around. I did get bitten by an iguana (my own fault entirely), and the staff was amazing about providing first aid. The medical services office was also fantastic and had a great doctor on staff. Overall, the wedding was beautiful and we enjoyed our experience at Grand Palladium White Sand.

She repeatedly left the desk to ask coworkers questions and even forgot to activate our bracelets for room access. After finally getting to our room, we had to return to the front desk to have the bracelets activated. Transportation around the resort was frustrating. Golf carts refused to give us rides when we asked, despite carts being available. Instead, we were told to wait for other rides to come. Dinner reservations were another major issue. Guests are required to wake up early and be at the desk before 8 a.m. to make reservations for the following day. Same-day reservations are not allowed. If you don't show up at exactly 8 a.m., you're told everything is fully booked--yet the restaurants were consistently about 80% empty. To make things worse, one beachfront restaurant was completely closed. Large areas of the resort were off-limits, which made the experience feel far from "all-inclusive." The resort advertises access and amenities that are actually very restricted once you arrive. The beach was very rocky and not swimmable. A lifeguard told us to move to an area with flags, only for that area to be off-limits to guests staying at White Sands. It made no sense to direct us somewhere we weren't allowed to be. Even basic purchases were frustrating. At the gift shop, they wouldn't accept USD due to lack of change, then took Mexican pesos but still claimed they had no change. We ended up leaving the change just to complete the purchase. A shop operating without change is unacceptable. Overall, staff throughout the resort came across as rude and unhelpful. For the price and expectations of an all-inclusive experience, this resort fell far short. We will continue staying at Hilton resorts instead. Not sure why we even bothered with this one, and we do not recommend it.
