Just saw Dr. Ha for the first time and he is amazing. This is actually my first Yelp post and I was so impressed with the service I really wanted to write something. I got hit by my surfboard and one of my front teeth got chipped. I also busted my lip and had to get stitches. Dr Ha was very kind and patient and worked around my stitches and fixed my tooth. Here is a dentist who cleans your teeth HIMSELF!! Best dental cleaning I have received from any dentist so far! He did a pretty good job on my broken front teeth too. Other dentists said that no work needed to be done on my front teeth. Food used to constantly get stuck in the gap between my front teeth and he closed the gap between them pretty good. Awesome!! However his fees are on the expensive side. read more

I decided to come here based on the Yelp reviews and to those who say the front receptionist are rude I can agree with them. I believe she is Chinese , very rude I ask her a question and doesn't respond to me until I asked her again. NO smiles very serious face. Dr Troy Ha is one of the finest dentists my family and myself have ever encountered. My daughter found him, recommended him and we in turn have recommended him to other family members and friends. We all have been seeing him for over 10 years. He is highly professional, extremely knowledgeable, and warm and personable. He consistently keeps up with all the latest information and advances in the field and has a wide array of knowledge of the profession. It was pretty cool place when I just started to go to this place like the rate of this place is pretty high on yelp. But as my visits to this place increases I started to feel uncomfortable because my teeth hurt several times during the treatment even though I told the doctor that my teeth are very sensitive. I am a 64-year- old veteran of the dentist chair. I have had problems with my teeth since I was about 4 or 5. I have been to many dentists in my life, but I have never had one who was so patient and gentle. The last dentist that I trusted told me (when he was going to retire) to seek out a dentist who was educated at the USC School of Dentistry. About 7 or so years ago, I was looking for a replacement dentist and wanted one who was located close to a convenient bus line. I spotted an ad for Dr. Ha and it mentioned that he was a graduate of USC. The first thing I noticed was how soft spoken and gentle he seemed. It really put me at ease.After he examined me, I really appreciated how he explained everything to me, like what the problem areas were and what needed to be done. Unlike any other dentist I have ever been to, Dr. Ha speaks to his patients as equals, without any air of condescension. Over the years , Dr. Ha has performed root canals, replaced crowns, extracted a tooth, and created bridges. He is consistently professional and proficient in his work. I also like the way he relates to his staff. I have, in the past with other dentists, had to sit silently while they either yelled at their assistants or discussed subjects that I really didn't want to listen to while they worked on my mouth. I feel fortunate to have found such a gentle and caring dentist. read more

I hate hate HATE the dentist. I get very anxious about going and I knew I was going to need at least fillings. From the first visit Dr. Ha was awesome. He's not very chatty, neither is anyone else in the office - the receptionist comes off a bit rude, I think she's his mother, but I'm not certain - whatever, as long as the dentist is nice and efficient I can over look the fact that I don't get as much as a smile or a hello when I walk in. I'm going to chalk it up to a language barrier, or cultural thing. Anyway, since my first visit Dr. Ha was very upfront about the type of work I needed to get done, and presented me with a print out of my estimate and even worked with me on the price so that it wouldn't be too pricey. I love that he's tries to work with his patients. I wasn't able to get any of the work done he suggested on my first visit because I became unemployed soon after, but as soon as I was able to I came back to have the work done. And he was great! My most recent visit was my 3rd, I went in for 2 fillings on my right side, and I was SUPER nervous! I brought headphones in with me to listen to music to distract me and he was very understanding. I won't say it was painless because it wasn't, it's the dentist but he did everything he could to be as gentle as possible. I didn't even feel the shots/injections of the numbing stuff and when after 2 shots the bottom half of my mouth wouldn't numb and I flinched and groaned in pain, he didn't get annoyed with me, he gave me another shot and more time for it to numb, when it STILL didn't numb all the way he tried different angles so it would be less painful to me. He had the lightest, gentlest touch and even though I was shaking w/anxiety (yeah, I wasn't lying when I said I hated the dentist) he was still very gentle and quick! I thought I'd be there much longer than I was there. I asked him after why he thought I didn't numb and he did tell me that it could be because of the adrenaline from my nervousness that was preventing that part from numbing right, which makes me nervous for when I have to have my wisdow tooth pulled but he let me know that the good news is it's the top which seems to numb easier. He's so close to my place but if I ever moved I think I'd have to make the visit back to Dr. Ha. read more

Went today for my first time and it was a very pleasant experience. The office was very clean and nicely modeled, staff is nice and Dr. Ha very calm, down to earth and to the point. I went for a regular cleaning and it wasn't painful which I very much appreciate! read more

I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning and was told at that time my insurance information would be verified prior to the appointment. I presented for the appointment and completed paperwork. It wasn't until that time that the insurance company was called and I was informed by the front office staff that my plan was not accepted (even though I had found the provider through my insurance plan's list). It was very frustrating that this was not checked prior to the appointment, as I had been informed it would, because I used vacation time and still don't have clean teeth. Based on reviews, it sounds like the dental care is great; unfortunately, the front office service was not, in my experience. read more

Too much pain, not enough pain management. The first time I went in I got some teeth extractions. I kept telling the doctor I could feel what he was doing but he would just tell me it was the pressure, I think I know what I feel. He didn't give me enough pain medicine to deal with what I went through and literally cried for a week. Came back for a follow up and few cavity fills. He didn't numb those properly and hit a nerve this time and now I can't chew properly. I cried so hard. I'm still hurting from it, and ibuprofen isn't helping which he said would. He gets the job done though I guess, it's not like the teeth are still there. Prices weren't terrifying since I pay cash. Nice guy overall just needs to realize when someones hurting they mean it and aren't bluffing, sensitive or not. read more

Dr. Ha has been my dentist for over 10yrs! My teeth certainly look different from that first visit and I couldn't be happier. From adults to children he is the best! I started bringing my children since they were toddlers and they feel comfortable and safe and always look forward to their visit with Dr. Ha... Thank you!!! read more

There are a lot of good things about this office, but unfortunately (and surprisingly), I did not find the staff or Dr. Ha to be among those good things. To begin on a positive note, the office space itself is gorgeous, well-maintained, and very clean. The equipment and accommodations exceeded my expectations (they even have HD tvs for you to watch while you wait in the dentist chair)! In terms of ambiance, this office is fantastic, and I do appreciate the Dr. and his staff for keeping it so. On the other hand, the staff and Dr. Ha really need to be WAY more personable. And I don't mean "ass-kissing" personable (I'm from NYC, so I don't look for that at all, lol), but I just mean normal, I'm-going-to-explain-to-you-what's-going-on-here, thank-you-for-being-our-customer, professional courtesy. The personality of the overall clinic was more "meh", than anything else. First of all, I arrived to check in at my appointment 20 minutes early, and the receptionist was really cold and stone-faced. When my appointment time came, I waited an additional 30 minutes for the dentist to see me! And no one even communicated to me that "he'd be with me soon" or anything. They just left me in the chair, letting me wait as though I didn't matter at all as a customer. When the dentist finally got around to me, I received a routine cleaning, but he was unnecessarily rough. Meticulous? YES! Thorough? VERY MUCH SO! I won't fault him for that. But he is also hella rough. Now I know you might be thinking "psh, make sure you clean your teeth and he wouldn't have to get so far and deep in there!". No. Think again. At one point, he actually YANKED one of his tools out from between my bottom teeth (for no reason at all except that he'd accidentally lodged it there), and I actually felt a tooth shift! He didn't say anything-- no apology, nothing-- but just kept going on, again very roughly, like it was nothing. He never communicated to me about the state of my teeth or gums when he was finished either. Nope, no helpful dentistry advice. He really just got up and left abruptly; I didn't even know the appointment was over until the nurse handed me a tooth care bag and sent me on my way. I've been to plenty a dentist, and many of them have all been very good (even when admonishing me!), but a bit more "bedside manner" from Dr. Ha and his staff would have made the visit far more pleasant. As it stands now, I'm clearly just another coin in the pocket... but for my next visit, I'll be putting my coins somewhere else, unfortunately. :-/ read more

I am so glad I found dr ha. Ive been seeing My old dentist, who is rated #1 on yelp, for years. At the beginning of the year my jaw got broken, cracking some molars and my two front teeth. The molars were extremely painful, my two front teeth just looked hideous. Due to limitations on my insurance, I was forced to choose between being in extreme pain or looking ridiculous for the rest of the year until my insurance would reset. So I had him fix the molars and have looked like a hillbilly tweaker since February. I called my old dentist two days ago to make an appointment, excited to finally get my hideous smile fixed. Despite the fact I've been seeing "#1" dentist for about 5 years, they didn't have an appt available until January 27th! That was unacceptable, so I found dr. Ha on yelp, planning to just get my smile fixed up, then return to my old dentist. Well goodbye old dentist! Dr. Ha recommended I come in the next day so we could get the ball rolling. When I was there, he went over exactly what needed to be done. Very straightforward, with the lowest price on crowns anywhere! Then, to my surprise, he said he'd temporarily fix my teeth until the crowns could be put in. Temporaries were out of my price range due to the maxed out insurance, so he put dental cement in. It took about 15 minutes, AND MY TEETH LOOK GOOD AS NEW! Better actually! I cannot believe my old dentist, who was very nice and all, did not offer this to me. Dr. Ha charged virtually nothing. Even if he charged me 200 dollars it would have been more than worth it! I wish I would've went to dr ha a long time ago! Wouldn't have had to look like a fool all year! Like other people have said I hope he doesn't get so popular it's hard to get appointments, but he definitely should be. Even if it takes a month to get an appt in the future, you've got a patient for life! THANK YOU DR HA!!! read more
