We go to the 3-4yo Ninja class here. Overall the class and environment are excellent! My son tried many classes elsewhere before and this is the only class he is happy to attend. We have coach Josh, who is AMAZING! My son loves him and you can tell he is excellent with kids. He is super patient and gives the kids enough freedom during the lesson. My son is now more confident than before. Would definitely recommend this place and the class if you have a highly energetic son like mine! We were here for a few years on a team. The owner fired many coaches, and said that it was based on parent complaints which was untrue. One of the coaches had a baby a few days prior to her firing, which was done via text. The replacement coaches are mean, cruel and do not understand kids. We got out when we could, but those who are left now hate gymnsatics and the leader of the teams, Khtya (or something) is an uncaring poor excuse for a coach. I would never give them another dime. Unless you are on a team you will have another child teaching your child... if they are like my child they want to just socialize with the coach that is 16. My oldest daughter went to a birthday party when she had just turned 3 and LOVED it. I enrolled her in a rec class and she really enjoyed it. She made the Level 1 team just before she turned 5 and I can't believe the progress she's made and the skills she can do. My youngest daughter did the parent/tot class when she was 2. She liked it but did not want to do the class without me when she was 3. She's about to turn 4 and decided to do the Tiny Tumblers team and she LOVES it. The coaches are patient and kind and find good ways to motivate the kids. We've always had fun at birthday parties we've been to, my kids love open gym, and the teams they have a wonderful. read more

Amazing New Zip Line! For his birthday, my 12 year old son and I recently went on the brand new zip line at Troy Gym (building 1) and all I can say is WOW! I don't know who loved it more, my son or me. :) We zoomed through the air moving between the 5 different zip lines 15 feet off the ground and had a crazy good time! Troy Gym has long been a favorite of our family because of their wide variety of play options and friendly staff but this new "zip line rollercoaster" takes things to a whole new level. You feel like you're flying and it's awesome that you can ride repeatedly on the different tracks (it's not just one ride like so many zip lines). You can race a friend on parallel tracks, most of the tracks curve, and there's even one spot you can kick off the wall like an action movie! My son, his friends, and a few of us dads cruised around the zip lines for about 30 minutes laughing and racing - next time we'll go for an hour. Toby, the TG owner who is very engaging and clearly passionate about helping families have a great experience at TG, shared some of the cool tech stuff with us about this new zip line: -This style zip line is what you see on cruise ships and apparently TG's course is one of the first of its kind inside a building on land. -The red light/green light system on each zip line has safety locks that prevent a 2nd person from launching until the first rider has arrived at and moved on from the landing spot. This prevents people from accidentally slamming into each other - important! -The roller system that goes across the top of each line makes for an incredibly smooth ride (smoothest I've experienced on a zip line). -You can easily pass people and change directions on the elevated walkway between zip lines because you're always tethered into the safety tracks. Easy to switch who's racing who, which zip line you want to go next, etc. This may seem minor but the harnesses were really comfortable and that makes a big difference when you ride multiple times. No discomfort for me on 20+ rides in 30 minutes. I'd have no problem wearing that harness and zipping around for an hour. The pricing is very reasonable as well and I like that you get unlimited rides during a time period rather than paying per ride. Bottom Line: this is an awesome zip line and I'm going back with my family as soon as I can next time we're in Troy! Highly recommend! read more

The people watching your kids are not very pleasant. I would never speak to my child or anyone's child that way. Also, the front desk did not bother to mention there's a registration fee per child, in addition to a fee for the day. I paid a large amount of money for a two hour playdate to a place I will not be coming back to. They should have told me that before signing them in and not just charging my card. This is a very common place for kid's birthday parties. We've been over twenty times and even the occasional open gym. It's a great concept and a fun way to burn some energy, especially over the winter months. I will say though that while the kids have fun, the cleanliness of the place makes most parents cringe. My child wanted their recent birthday party there (again, popular with the kids) so we agreed. We gave a deposit and planned the party. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and Troy Gymnastics temporarily being closed we couldn't celebrate. Which we totally understand. COVID-19 has brought financial hardship and when we asked for our deposit back, the owner said that we can reschedule the party at any time over the next year. I expressed that we needed the money now. Nope, he's not willing. It's really disheartening. I wanted to share my experience as a caution. read more

We have been attending Troy Gymnastics for several months now and are pleased with the structure and class sizes. The owner is always available and is often walking around, talking to families to see what he can improve on. I was shocked to read some of these reviews as we have never had a bad experience here. It is more expensive than some of the other activities our kids are involved in but the facilities are top notch and there is a lot to do. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Maybe the best facility in the area. Coaches are young for the classes, but the competitive team is legit. They just sent a kid to the University of Oklahoma on scholarship (they are #1 in the country at the time of this review). They have high expectations, but also make sure kids are having fun. Open gym is, open gym. If your kid is young, you need to watch them. Parenting 101. For the complaints about the business, most of you must not be business owners. Everything was explained upfront. You make the choice if you agree. Are there fees? Yes. Do you have to agree to them? No, go somewhere else. TG is a business like anywhere else. My husband and I have been taking my daughter here for the last year. I've never heard any of the employee talking bad about the parents. Every time my husband and I saw the owner, he always greeted us! I wish the employees were trained a little better on how to teach gymnastics. I've had my daughter enrolled in classes here for a few months. The front desk staff very regularly speak negatively about paying customers to each other out in the open right next to where you sit and watch your kid while class is in session. It makes me so uncomfortable and has happened with such regularity that I now sit upstairs where I can't hear them. If you call to voice concerns about the facility, a class, a particular coach or experience you had while using the facility for a birthday party know that the staff will absolutely speak loudly, likely negatively about you, all together as a group along with the owner at the front desk where other people can hear every word. The facility itself is fine, a bit dated and could be cleaner but it's reasonably priced and my daughter likes it. read more

Over the years my daughter has done gymnastics classes, camps, open gym, birthday parties and most recently virtual learning (which was a savior for both my daughter and I). She has loved it all. We have also started open swim. Nice pool. What brings me down to a 4 star is $25 registration fee if a parent wants to swin with their kid. We have swam at many other places with our daughter and we never had to pay a registration fee as an adult. Felt like price gouging. read more

This is a great area for kids all ages, from classes to open gym days, gym 1,2 and 3 are great, my favorite is the 3 great installations, clean and all 3 with a parking lot. Gym 2 the smallest but still fun, yes the staff could be a challenge sometimes but let's don't forget that they are very young and just following rules and safety first. I drove from almost an hour away because my girlfriends wanted their kids to have fun at open gym. Months ago, we had a lot of fun doing this. Today, we got there at 11:20- open gym closes at noon. they tried charge me $25 "registration fee" PER KID, THEN ON TOP OF THAT, another $10 to play. In case you can't do math, that's $70 dollars for 40 minutes of play. When I asked them to make an exception this one time, they said they couldn't. I asked 3 times to please make an exception because my kids were getting so upset. The women at the front desk blamed it on finances, the owner being out of town, and policy. While I'm a small business owner, and I understand policy, I also understand that a couple dollars in the door with a happy customer (that may return in the future) is better than zero dollars and an unhappy customer who will tell people about how awful the experience and customer service was. Even with my children basically kicking and screaming because they SO badly wanted to play at the gym with their friends, there was still no compassion. I'd also like to add that at no point during the registration process for the first free play was I ever told that if I came back there would be a $25 fee per kid on top of $10 for open play per kid. I did ask how much it would cost the next time I came, and was told $10 per kid (which I was absolutely prepared to pay today) Nice work Troy Gymnastics. It's no wonder you don't allow anyone to write reviews on Facebook, and your yelp and google ratings are so low. read more

We just attended our first open swim at their new pool in gym 4 and it was a great experience! You make a reservation so the number of kids are limited and were spread out in the pool. The facility is super nice and there were 2 lifeguards on deck. The staff was very friendly and my son loved the healthy snack options after his swim; we will be back! read more

I've visited five other gyms in the last year and by a long shot, this is the best one. Super huge facilities, great staff, reasonable prices and great experiences for my kids. Good sportsmanship is hard to find these days and they do a great job of teaching it. They would get five stars if the parking we're better. I took my son to open gym paid $10 and my son found a hidden ball no one was ever playing with it and want to play with it , in his imagination he was pretending it's (lava ball) and created a playtime for himself . However 5 minutes later , a little girl came up to my son wanting the ball and the coach TOOK the ball from my son while he just start playing and enjoying himself and handed the ball it to the little girl , TELLING my son he should share . So the girl took the ball and ran away with it . (when My son just found the ball and just start playing with it) lack of experience of how to deal with kids and situations like this caused my son to be upset and sad and frustrated , he wanted the ball back and he didn't understand why was taking from him when he just found it and just start playing with it . So My son went to the little girl and her grandma he asked about the ball and he said I am not done playing And he said tot he her grandma she took the ball from me. (He didn't use any force other the. Explaining what happens and why he want the ball back ) That resulted a complete stranger yelling at my son and approach me rudely that my son is not behaved and he shouldn't be talking this way (all my son did was asking for his ball that was taken too soon from him by the coach ) The coach caused my son to be sad Caused us to be in bad situations and let a complete stranger who did not know what happens exactly to yell at my son and pass judgment on him and me . The coach He's seeing my son was sad about the ball he DID NOT try to distract my son with another game but INSTED he say no BUD go play with something else . It was a horrible experience ever that made so frustrated and tearing up and we couldn't understand or believe why we were talked this way from complete stranger or why the coach is coaching this way ! My son never ever takes anything from anyone but I agree he didn't stop wanting what was taken from him too soon . My son never used any bad words or used any force. We didn't understand why a complete stranger who has nothing to do with it and didn't even know why my son is wanting that ball to pass judgment on me and him . All I can say it the first horrible unfair experience and lack of experience from the coach that caused all this trouble . He fail by taken the ball from my son TOO SOON He fail to distract my son to get his mind off of the game he just created for himself He fail by letting a complete stranger yelling at my son (like she was working there and she knows exactly what happened ) and made her pass judgment on something she's clueless . We paid $10 for open gym that we didn't enjoy playing and we're mistreated We will withdrawal my son from all classes we enrolled him in . We will never use the parent night out any more . We will not go back and not recommend this place because incident like that can happen to anyone anytime. For hiring kids who are not capable of handling normal behavior of children. read more

If you care for your child/children's safety, DO NOT go to Troy Gymnastics!!! The owners are extremely unprofessional and have no regard for children safety and facility safety concerns! I arrived to pick up my child from day camp and the staff had no idea where she was. After looking through printout schedules, none of the "COACHES" had any idea which group she was in or where she could be located. They instructed me to look around the facility ON MY OWN. After several minutes of me frantically going room to room, there was ZERO urgency from any staff member to help me. I was visibly distraught and having a severe panic attack. - I demanded several times for someone to help find my child. - No phone calls/attempts of communication were made to the other buildings. - No one offered to help me as I scrambled around having a severe panic attack not knowing where my child was. - One staff member even made a comment about her possibly being in the pool area on some sort of inflatable yet did not think to quickly go check the area! - AFTER NEARLY 10 MINUTES, my child was missing and no one seemed to care! - Julie (co-owner) sat at the main desk, directed me to Shane (a young man who's the camp director). - Shane was helpful and walked me around the entire facility and lastly to the other building where I thankfully was able to locate my child playing amongst a group. - The entire facility is extremely UNORGANIZED and UNSECURE without safe pickup procedures in place. - A stranger, non-custodial parent, or anyone for that matter could walk in the main entrance and have direct access to the children and staff which is a HUGE safety concern!! Once we were home and I had calmed down, I called to speak to someone in charge about the situation (in which co-owner Julie answered the phone). After listening to my concerns, she repetitively said that there is sometimes confusion at pickup times and the staff are young. She sternly stated they have a firm no refund policy. She gave me her husband Toby's email and to contact him with my concerns. I emailed Toby only to get the most absurd and ridiculous email response back. He did apologize for the "occasional confusion at pickup" but then proceeded to make it a point to boast about his accolades in the business rather than address any of the blaring safety concerns. He even shared a story about his wife and daughters from 18 years ago that was beyond irrelevant to the situation. He completely disregarded my concerns regarding the safety and security for my child and all the other children there. This traumatizing incident was completely unacceptable, but could've been preventable if proper safety and operational procedures were in place. In my email I encouraged them to consider their safety policies but Toby made it clear they have no interest in making any changes to their business model. I also requested a refund for the next day when my child was supposed to attend camp again (clearly never going back!) but the owner stood "very firm in the no refund policy" despite the circumstances. It's no wonder reviews are not allowed on their Facebook page...there are numerous negative reviews on Yelp and Google regarding this business. I strongly encourage families to NEVER SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO TROY GYMNASTICS. Support other businesses/gyms that have your children's safety and your peace of mind at heart! read more

Horrible COVID communications. I get weekly emails from the owner bragging about faith and thriving business and perfect family. I set aside $200. Pre pandemic for use at the gym and have since lost my income due to the pandemic and am struggling to feed my kids. They will not refund the money. And the owner doesn't have the decency to tell me himself because they are on vacation. Clearly they don't care at all about the families and kids who have supported the business. Our group of friends met here for their "all-ages open gym" this morning (Sunday) with our toddlers. While the videos for the open gyms online show lots of toddler-friendly equipment and play areas, the weekend open gyms are at their team facility, which is decidedly NOT toddler-friendly. The woman at the front desk was helpful enough for signing is up and asked the two open gym "coaches" to set up a toddler play area for us, but it's obvious this open gym is not truly all-ages. Of course, the open gyms on weekday mornings are at the toddler-friendly location, but that isn't suitable for the schedules of parents who work. Classes seem to run $80/month for parent/tot classes at the toddler gym. We likely will not be returning given we haven't had a chance to check out that location and there isn't an option to try out a single class. read more

Apparently, it is optional to wear masks there. Coaches who are in VERY CLOSE contact with the children (who are not eligible for vaccinations due to age) are not wearing masks. Most of the children are not wearing masks either. After numerous inquiries with the owner, no explanation was given. This practice is negligent and contrary to Oakland County Health Department requirement for education settings, and because there are so many children going through the facilities every day. I no longer feel safe to bring my child there. The owner refused to refund me for the unused classes this month. He was very unapologetic and didn't care. Do not recommend it, which is unfortunate because children enjoy the classes and they have decent equipment and facility set up. read more

My daughter has been going here for years and recently I have had problems scheduling make up classes with Corinna. She seems extremely annoyed to have to give you a makeup class. It's an ok place for a workout but if you want a competitive gymnast find another place to go that appreciates your business. read more

I took my 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter here for a play date. I met up 2 of my friends with their children. My son was having a blast. I went into the lobby with my 1 year old and newborn (breastfeeding). My friends were watching my son in the play area. The young gentleman working came into the lobby with my son and said, "you need to have a talk with your son about his screaming." He also said that I needed to be in the play area with him. His tone was so disturbing. He could have approached me with a little kindness. My son has a high voice so yes it can be annoying. When kids are having fun, some kids express themselves by being loud. He was running around with 2 boys, chasing each other around. I was watching through the windows. I've been to so many play places and have never felt that my son had to watch himself for his loudness. Please young gentleman working there, learn how to talk to people when confronting a situation. Maybe also understand that kids will be kids, especially when they're only 3 years old. We have a ton of other play places we can go without feeling so disturbed. read more

Coaches are awful, management and ownership is even worse. After we watched our Son being mistreated by his teacher for an entire class, the owner called us back to tell us how coach Tim goes all over the country as a gymnast. How this explains his lacking of coaching ability is beyond me. Someone please tell your ignorant owner that being a good gymnast doesn't constitute being a good coach or teacher. This establishment condones racist conduct amongst its staff members. I have 2 young bi-racial children ages 8 & 12 who are half black that were enrolled in a gymnastics class with a new coach last week and while my kids were in class their coach referred to them using racist language. When my son came to me after class and told me what happened I immediately went to speak with the owner because the coach was no where to be found, but the owner did nothing. He just treated the incident very passively and told me that he would speak to the coach about it later and then he offered me some free classes as compensation for what happened. I don't want any free classes and I've withdrew my kids from this place and will be spreading the word to others! I am totally appalled and offended that my kids were treated and talked to in such a way! He should be fired because a gymnastics coach whose job is working with children to help them build strength, confidence and self esteem shouldn't be talking to black kids using that type of language! Totally unprofessional and out of line! We will not be returning and the fact that this coach was able to use such language towards my kids so easily, shows that he has done this before and that there is a racist culture amongst the staff members at Troy Gymnastics. I've never been more flabbergasted in my life. I brought my 20 month old up to Troy Gymnastics for preschool open gym (0-5 only), where she was able to get out of my reach and down a tunnel that ended both at the top of stairs and the mezzanine access, there were gates there but both were open and she darted out of sight nowhere near me. For several frantic minutes I was running back and forth trying to find my daughter with no help from staff, who chuckled at me in my panic. When I finally got ahold of her I brought my very real safety concern to the coach who gave me the unrealistic and impossible "you need to be within arm's reach of your child at all times" as a response. I asked how I was supposed to accomplish this when I am not allowed on the equipment? I was given no clear answer. I then brought my concerns to the front desk where the owner basically told me that if I don't like it I should go somewhere else. He was very condescending and rude, as a result I will never take my kids there again, which really sucks, because they loved going there. read more

My son was kicked out 2 hours prematurely because of the speculation that he pushed another child, the coach Madison would not listen to any of the 5 other kids who tried to testify in favor of my son. The child in question was named julian and all the other kids were talking about how he punched my child first. the way Troy Gymnastics handled this situation was unacceptable. They forced my son to sit at the top of the stairs and wouldn't let him talk at all. While the other kids riding with him asked to wait outside the child who allegedly punched my son in the face was free to go and play with his friend. As a parent with small children in the Metro Detroit area, I appreciate facilities that support parents in providing a positive experience for their children and their friends. Troy Gymnastics is NOT one of these places. I could not believe the unprofessional manner in which I was treated when attempting to take my daughter and 3 friends to open gym (all of whom have attended classes there previously). This coupled with the indignant attitude of the staff and management added insult to injury. I will not bring my children nor allow them back in their facility. The owner, Toby, has clearly never had any formal training in customer service and is the rudest "owner" I have ever encountered. He would rather sacrifice a few bucks instead of keeping his clients happy. The staff is poorly trained on their policies and procedures and because of that I suffered a loss of money. Both times instead of apologizing and trying to make us happy- he was perfectly fine with us dropping classes and stated, "everyone needs a break from gymnastics sometimes!" Making the $$ is clearly all he cares about, sadly its not the kids and their families he cares about. We have found a more professional gym that focuses on training and less on "play".
