I'm honestly pretty upset with how Lifetime as a brand has changed. Customer service? Gone. The feeling of inclusivity? Gone. It's like they no longer care about their members. I get that they're saving some money by not being open 24/7, but it's still a huge letdown. We've tried the Canton location multiple times, but there's always something broken or out of order. So we went to the Troy location, only to find that our family membership doesn't work here--only Novi and Canton. After upgrading, my son, who loves basketball, was disappointed to see that half the courts are now taken over by pickleball. Now they're even getting rid of basketball courts altogether. When I asked, I was told that "basketball doesn't make us money." Isn't that why we're paying $275 a month for a family membership? Today, after upgrading, we got kicked off the basketball court within an hour because of some family event. Apparently, they have arts and crafts tables in the gym on Saturdays. We were told we could come back after 8pm, but why did we drive 55 minutes from Ann Arbor for that? There's other space they could've used, but I'm guessing that's being rented out for more money, while the members are pushed aside for things like pickleball. Honestly, the Las Vegas locations are great, but the Michigan ones are a mess. I've been harassed since day one at Canton. It's frustrating because, just like 24-Hour Fitness, Lifetime is drifting away from what made it great--caring about the members. Eventually, I think they'll learn, especially when they start closing down locations, just like 24-Hour did. I just hope they realize that the people--the members--are what keeps their revenue flowing. Plus spend some money on this club first, everything is old and falling apart..... Maybe one day, pickleball will fade out like racquetball did. But until then, here's an idea: Troy could convert those racquetball courts into basketball courts. That would actually make sense!

First they took one court away, and now they're taking BOTH courts starting April 19. Basketball has always been one of the main reasons people come here, and now it feels like that doesn't matter at all. Instead, pickleball is taking over the entire space with prime-time hours--6-9:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 6-9 PM on other days--basically making it impossible for anyone to play basketball after work. On top of that, the courts were never even taken care of properly. The basketball floors are rarely cleaned, and the wood clearly needs to be polished. For a gym charging around $150 a month, you would expect much better maintenance, but it feels like they never cared about the basketball side at all. Another issue is the hours. The basketball courts close at 11 PM Monday through Thursday, and the entire club closes at 11 PM on Fridays--which is crazy considering most locations stay open later. This is the only club I know closing that early on a Friday. After over 20 years of being a loyal member, it feels like long-time members are being pushed aside. The gym might look nice, but taking away something this important--and not even maintaining it properly while it was there--completely ruins the experience.

He got to know the manager and was proud to introduce me to him and the entire staff. The staff, the facilities and the equipment was always great. Recently, I returned for a vacation and stayed at a nearby hotel. I bought a week long pass to this gym and as soon as I walked in, it was as if I was whisked back in time for a while. This is a great place to workout.

Staff "Ya i know it's super confusing". So admitted the information posted was wrong. "No way u can make an exception?" "No". So annoyed. Never had that in all the years of visiting gym. Especially rude. And in Troy on a Tuesday night how many visitors are coming in to make this an issue? Unbelievable. So cost me a $40 uber ride back and forth for nothing.

The guy at the front desk told me since I was under contract, I did not have to cancel and that it would just end at the end of my contract. I have now moved about an hour away and they are still charging me $60 a month. I called yesterday and was basically told too bad and that my membership cannot be canceled until their general manager is onsite. Today, I called again because I hadn't received a response and the person over the phone said "you will not be getting a refund because you didn't cancel and my general manager still isn't here so tough." Excuse me? Rude. Disrespectful. Lack of customer service. I will be in that gym in the next 24/48 hours trust and believe that!

The Royal Oak one we went to was chaos, so we were hoping that this one would be much better. We have been right so far. There's a lot of parking here, which is great and minimizes stress of getting here. You scan in like usual, and are on your way to exercising! They have TONS of treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes. They even have a few stairmasters. What I like the most is their "stretching" room, which we use for ab workouts. They also have two of each machine (arms, back, etc.) out in the main area. So far we really like coming here and are glad we switched to a big, roomy, and friendly location.

Their pool and racquetball courts are a big draw for many looking for a fully equipped gym. They've made some updates the past few years including an area that goes beyond your typical equipment - along with the class offerings that go with it. But their women's bathroom is in desperate need of an overhaul. The doors don't close all the way (they are hanging poorly and the lock doesn't fully reach across), the stalls are so dated, it isn't always clean - it feels very institutional. They need to reinvest in their equipment - having already started by updating their free weights. I'd like to see better maintenance on their aerobic machines upstairs. No pics allowed - I'm a strict rule follower when it comes to that one.

Very clean facility, lots of equipment, nice layout, friendly staff, great instructors, a huge lap and therapy pool, nice hot tub and dry sauna, large court, and lots of extras. We love it here! The price is reasonable for a premier couple and they go above and beyond with their "extras". We love it!
