For my birthday and right before we had to head out of town, my car decided to die and I needed a new alternator. Based on many recommendations, I brought it to Bobby's Garage. I was initially stunned by the cost and asked for a breakdown which they immediately provided. my car is satisfied with the work received and brought us safely to Massanutten Resort! The shop also gave me $75 off work done as a new customer. I am glad that we got this fixed because on my way back home from our trip, my daughter and her friend wrecked my daughters car. Since my daughter goes to school in Salisbury University, she just took my car with her and I feel very confident that she will be safe with the car due to the work that Bobby's Garage did. Additionally, Tasha, the owner provided me with a few resources for my daughters car to get picked up and scrapped since I didn't have collision on her car it is a complete loss- so any bit helps. I would recommend Bobby's Garage to future customers Bonus points I also learned from the owner that they do offer loaners while the work is getting done. When I called I was pleasantly surprised that the person on the phone was so kind and took the time to assess the issues with my car and was able to accommodate me right away. I had Tasha and her team work on my 2012 GMC Arcadia twice. Each time, Tasha's team did a phenomenal job making sure my truck got the best service it needed and a great explanation of what it didn't need. Using an extended warranty can be a pain, and this was certainly the case in getting my truck repaired using the warranty service. Tasha and her team fought diligently, sternly, and patiently while making sure the extended warranty company did their job according to their contract. I truly can't place a harden value to the time and effort Tasha's team put into making sure my truck got the quality service I deserved from her team and the warranty company. But if had too, its definitely 100% worth it to have Tasha's team take care of all your automotive needs. I did a review in 2019. I'm doing an update now, in 2023. I recently took my 2000 Ford in for an oil change. They check a number of things while doing the oil change. I ended up needing some work done, including front brake work. That didn't surprise me because I'm a bit hard on my brakes. I was able to have everything done and get the car back the same day. Everyone at Bobby's is great - friendly and efficient. With luck, they'll keep my old car going for a while longer. Congrats on always doing such a great job. I highly recommend them. read more

I read the reviews about Bobby's Garage and they were favorable so I took my 2012 Hyundai Elantra to Bobby's to have the steering coupler replaced. At the time, I didn't know what the problem was, I just knew the steering was clunking and was not right. I was told that they were going to have to realign the car and that the repair would cost over a $1,000. Car was repaired and after the repair, the alignment was way off. Had to take the car back to have them realign it again. It's better now but not like it was. Afterwards, which was my mistake, I looked online to try to get some idea as to what the problem was and came to find out that replacing the steering coupler in an Elantra is pretty straightforward, does not take a lot of time, and does not involve the steering alignment at all. In addition, it should not cost $1,000+. Fast forward, two months later, my Hyundai Sonata had the same problem. Took it to Mt. Airy Motors this time because once again, their reviews were excellent and someone else had recommended them. Asked them if it would have to be realigned after they repaired it and was told no, because the repair does not involved the alignment of the car. Mt. Airy Motors fixed the problem and the car still steers straight as an arrow. Total cost to do the same job that was done on my Elantra, $264. Came to find out from a local tow truck driver that Bobby's routinely overcharges their customers. My daughter took her car to Bobby's to have her oil changed because she had a coupon for $25 off for an oil change. Turns out she should have just gone to Walmart and paid full price for an oil change there because it would have been much cheaper. When she picked her car up, she was told that the brakes needed to be repaired because they were in very bad shape and the car was dangerous. Once again, the price that they quoted her to redo her brakes was well over $1,000. Had someone else look at the brakes. They're fine! Needless to say, Bobby's will not be getting my business ever again. If I could give them zero stars, I would. read more

Road side assistance for flat tire in a parking lot. AAA and insurance can not give you anything but day no time frame. Bobby's Garage gave me a time and they arrived on time. Had to take truck to shop because the tire wouldn't hold air. New tire needed. They ordered the tire and let me know when the truck was ready. Reasonable price wonderful customer service. Will definitely go there for any other auto repair issues. High scores in every category. read more

Racist!!! I called to schedule maintenance on my phone and was hung up on. At first I thought it was an accident until I called back no answer, called again and was told to take my business somewhere else. When I asked why since we have never did business together I was told "you know why" with laughing and hung up the phone again. This is why I go to Germantown for everything. read more

Bobby's garage is great. I've got a few major repairs done and every time it was a great experience. Trustworthy and honest are 2 things I would say about Bobby's garage. I took a homemade trailer to them for inspection. They took issue that the lights popped out when they were pulled on. These lights were seated and stayed in place while I towed it from the place I had it stored 80 miles away to my house. I don't know what they did to the lights but after they had it for a day, the lights fell out while I was taking it home (less than 3 miles). Now my trailer failed inspection AND the lights won't stay in. read more

Had a flat tire that would not come off (even with a hammer), so I took it to the closest place. Now I'm kinda sorry I didn't use them for the last 4 years of living here. This is my first time getting my Honda Fit service here. We've all had car serviced before and know the difference between good and bad. I rarely give 5 stars to anything but the office staff and the mechanics were to say the least awesome. The light assistant and the service was very cost-effective. I personally have not had work performed by the shop but am in a situation where I am trying to do the brakes on a car that most recently had the brakes done by this shop. The car in question used to be my mother's and she had Bobby's do all the work to the car until she passed it on to my family for one of the children. I am now in a situation where I have to pay a professional to repair a number of broken wheel lugs because the mechanic at Bobby's who did the brake job last installed the lug nuts using an impact wrench. For those who know - there are specific factory torque specifications for installing wheel lugs. Installed too tightly and you can warp a brake rotor, or in this instance, shear a lug nut because they were installed with too high a torque setting on the impact wrench. I will now have to spend time and money to repair the wheel lugs. I am simply trying to remove the wheels but had to use a three foot section of pipe to try and remove the lug nuts?! A number came off as they should have, but a number have simply sheared off. Remember that wheel lugs are meant to be removed using the factory supplied wrench. This is an inexcusable failure of the shop owner to properly train or hire properly trained mechanics. Ideally, lug nuts should be installed until hand tight, then tightened with a manual torque wrench in a star/criss cross pattern in two to three increases to the torque setting until the factory spec is reached. Thankfully, I found the issue before myself or my wife or one of my kids had a flat on the side of the road as they would never have gotten the wheels off to change a flat. If you choose to wheel related work done at the shop, be very clear about asking them to not over torque the wheel lugs or give them the factory torque setting. read more
