Fried calamari
Jerry C.

Eight of us showed up for Friday happy hour. The three bar areas were seriously packed! You had to squeeze through the crowd. Although our group is mostly in the 50-65 range, we felt like spring chickens. The bar successfully caters to senior citizen gay gentlemen, and now we know where they all go. The main dining room decor is still too grandma pastel and fake Greek column ambiance for my taste. The other two cocktail and cabaret areas have a more swanky vibe with red velvet drapes. We came here for dinner awhile ago after their reopening. The food was ok and reminded me of Chef Nate's across the street, although the entrees tasted better at Chef Nate's (he used to be chef at the older Tropics). Yesterday four of us came for singer Ralph Meitzler (who is actually a professional theater performer and bartender) and accompanist Christopher Hamblin. We had several rounds of cocktails which were well made. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We selected several appetizers on the menu but the kitchen was out of them. On a Tuesday? We ended up with the Buffalo chicken wings (standard pub fare), salad (same), egg rolls (very good, and not Asian as you'd think), and fried calamari (not good, not crispy, kind of soggy). No problems with the cabaret, and I'd say probably one of the best singer and pianist combo of entertainers I've heard in the gayborhood. Both have fun personalities and kept the pop and Broadway standards (old and new) show going. We thought we'd stay an hour, and we enjoyed it so much we stayed the whole 2+ hours. Five star entertainment, three star food.

Extremely slow service on a slow night. Salad had wilted lettuce, french fries were reheated/double fried. For the price I expected much better. Decor was okay and live music gave good ambience. I wouldn't return here again or recommend.

Not obviously place to have an amazing launch, and feel silence and comfortable time. Service are always a high class. Atmosphere is very save and have a little NY vibe.

It was not great, but the people there are incredible. They comped our meals. It was still a very enjoyable night.

Camp is one thing- bad food is also what you get. The Chicken Piccata was tough, and the sauce was gloopy and tased as out of a jar. YUK

The lighting is dim and the sofas are beautiful. There is a red piano on the other side that just looks so regal. We sat at the bar and were quickly taken care of. They have a great variety of cocktails to choose from and some bites as well if you're feeling hungry. I went with the red eye espresso martini and it was amazing. It tasted like chocolate! The combo of Licor 43 and espresso is delish! Highly recommend. It was a Sunday night so there wasn't too many people, but the bartender did tell us they play live music on Fridays and Saturdays and that is when there is a bigger crowd. We will be going back soon!

I live on the gulf coast but get over to WM frequently and when I do this is always a stop. I love the energy and casual nature, and always manage to have a lovely conversation or two with complete strangers. Brandon was their best barman by a million miles but not seen him recently, he always had a smile and a hello for everyone. I don't necessarily need that, just reasonable service. For the first time in memory I didn't tip the other night as the barman obviously made me wait just for shits and giggles. He didn't acknowledge me dispite being right in front of me and serving no one. He moved things round the bar randomly. Then looked in a cocktail shaker and slightly topped up a whole bunch of plastic cups with a bit of cocktail that no one waiting for. I guess the cups might be handed round later for something I don't know. They were still there when I left. Eventually he served me after running out of other things to pretend to do and without any courtesy. When it opened I think the owners made sure the staff were friendly but that's obviously out the window these days

It's hard to tell and the menu doesn't really help clarify the identity either. The drinks are just okay. Honestly there are better spots around Wilton Manors for the same type of food, but I get why people keep coming back -- it's become a bit of a staple on The Drive and there's something to be said for that. If you're in the area and the community is gathering there, it's absolutely worth checking out for the experience. Just go in without super high expectations and you'll probably have a fine time.

Potato street hash was amazingly good, and flavored with a great combo of spices and unusual veggies. To test out the basic diner aspect we also got a BLT which was also very good. The only minor hiccups food wise were no coffee for brunch and no bread other than sourdough for the sandwich 4 star service: service was good and friendly. There was only one staffer on duty for the bar and all tables. Even though it was fairly empty, he seemed stretched a little thinly. 5 star ambience: the old one story Thai place that previously occupied the space has been replaced by a second story addition. The interior has been completely reworked and feels modern and slick. Upstairs an outdoor seating area is open to Wilton Drive below.
