LIT Bar has a nice gayborhood feel to it, especially inside. Nothing fancy, but not a dive. When four of us were here on a Sunday afternoon, most of the TVs were playing various sports. Currently LIT offers a limited menu of chips, dips, hot dogs and the like, along with great $10 deals on buckets of margaritas, rum, vodka, etc. The margaritas were too sweet/sour for our taste, but we liked the baby plastic pails, and we got to carry them home. The action is in the outdoor bar with a large patio where more TVs and music played. Due to current COVID-19 rules, everyone stays seated at tables and social distanced. This bar space has changed owners/names at least 4 times (Progress, Sound Bar, etc.) in the past few years. Best of luck during these trying times!

A shot of Honey Jack Daniels poured at the Pub and other bars for $5-$6. But NOT at Lit for $8 as reflected in 2nd pic

From the second we walked in, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The service felt genuine--not over the top--just really attentive and helpful. You can tell they care. We started with the Mini Macs and they were unreal. The burgers were perfectly cooked, loaded with flavor, and served on these soft brioche buns stamped with their logo. They're held together with these little gold ball picks, which sounds like a small detail, but it honestly made it feel kind of fancy and fun at the same time. Like a dressed-up comfort food moment. The chimi chimi steak was incredible--super tender with crispy potatoes and a fresh chimichurri that just pulled everything together. We also tried the curry cauliflower and were not expecting to love it as much as we did. The heat was perfect--not too much, just enough--and it even had a little edible gold on top which made it feel extra special. The dumplin' pot pie was such a surprise in the best way. Under that flaky crust was this rich, creamy broth with the softest, pillowy gnocchi. Total comfort food but somehow elevated. And the truffle fries...we couldn't stop eating them. We had four cocktails (which is not typical for us, but we couldn't help it)--the matcha tini, bacon bourbon old fashioned, cut and burn, and blossom--and every single one was amazing. Super creative but still really balanced. Dessert completely sealed it. The silk pie was rich, chocolatey, and so smooth with fresh whipped cream on top. And the smoreos...just wow. Warm, fried, gooey, and everything you want in a dessert like that. What's really impressive is that this place has only been open about four months. The owners, Dave and David, have clearly created something special here. You can feel the attention to detail in everything, and the chef knows exactly what they're doing--every dish just hits. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you're in Fort Lauderdale, definitely go. This place is something special.

Navigating the Nightlife: A Candid Review of Hunters Club…read more Nightlife can be the highlight of our social experiences, but not every club hits the mark. Take Hunters Club, for instance. It's a place that seems to promise an exciting night out, yet some patrons find it falls short of expectations. From the challenge of finding a parking spot to the steep prices for drinks served in disappointingly small plastic cups, the experience begins on a less-than-stellar note. The atmosphere inside doesn't always redeem the initial hassle, either. Regulars might notice a lack of variety in the music, with DJs seemingly pressing 'play' on the same setlist each night. The result? A dance floor that feels more like a time loop than a dynamic party. And while special effects and lighting can often elevate a club's vibe, at Hunters, they seem to blend into the background, failing to add that special 'wow' factor. Of course, the social aspect of a club is crucial, and unfortunately, the ambiance can be dampened by the attitude of the staff, which can come across as less than welcoming. Safety is also a concern, with reports of pickpocketing incidents adding a layer of caution to the night. Despite these drawbacks, every venue has its loyal fans, and perhaps Hunters Club is no exception. Maybe it's just that the locals have no choice. In the end, it's all about personal preference. Some may find Hunters Club to be a comfortable spot for a regular hangout, having limited places to go, while others might seek more from their evening escapades. This review is based on my experience and opinion while being there and also the opinion of others that share their experience with me as well.

Between the music, lots of 90s and 00s rock, which I love. The lineup of classic arcade games from the 80s through early 2000s, it's the ultimate nostalgia overload in the best way possible. That combo alone makes this place stand out. The setup is simple and perfect: buy one drink and you get a wristband for unlimited arcade play. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can spend hours here without even realizing it. We're talking Tekken, Street Fighter, Skee-Ball, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Killer Queen, Frogger, Galaga, Space Invaders, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros... and that's barely scratching the surface. It's such a fun date spot too! Super laid-back, interactive, and guaranteed laughs. Every time I come here, I leave with great memories. There's a huge parking lot in front and street parking all over so you're fine in that department. Glitch Bar forever!! If you're in FTL and haven't been yet, you're seriously missing out. 10/10 recommend!

Every visit feels like stepping into a time machine... but with better drinks and grown-folk energy. What really keeps me coming back is the vibe. The crowd is a whole melting pot of people, and everyone is just there to have fun: dancing, gaming, laughing, sipping a drink or two, and minding their business. Yes, you do need to make a purchase to play the "free" games--but trust me, that's not hard to do. Worth it. Whether you're rolling in with friends or trying to impress a date, this place delivers. Fun, nostalgic, welcoming, and just the right amount of chaotic joy. I'll definitely keep coming back--because why grow up all the way?

Two of us ordered drinks right away and sat at the bar playing video games. The rest of our group was still deciding what they wanted, which we understood fell under the one drink minimum per person rule. One friend sat with us at the bar while we had our drinks and was told by the bartender that she couldn't sit there without purchasing a drink, so she moved. She then stood near our other friends, who were playing an arcade game, and they were told they could not play unless they each bought a drink. At this point, they stood behind us at the bar to look over the menu and decide what they wanted, but that didn't seem to matter. The bartender repeatedly returned and escalated the situation instead of allowing any reasonable time to order, stating they could get water if they wanted and that it did not have to be alcoholic. After only a couple of minutes, the same bartender came out from behind the bar again and said in a rude, condescending tone that they "don't understand... if they don't buy a drink, then they can't even be in the building." Our friends explained that we had already purchased drinks and were simply deciding what we wanted, but at that point, they were turned off by his behavior and no longer wanted anything--and frankly, neither did we. We cashed out our tab, finished our drinks, and left. We were already paying customers and would have ordered more drinks, but the handling of the situation made that impossible. Instead, the business lost not only our additional sales, but also several friends who were planning to join us and spend money. We are local to the area and not teenagers causing a disturbance, which is what the situation felt like when our friends were told to leave for no clear reason. I understand house rules like a one-drink minimum, but there is a professional way to enforce them. This wasn't it. Not everyone can or wants to order immediately--whether due to preferences, pacing, or dietary restrictions--and the lack of flexibility or basic courtesy was disappointing. Instead of encouraging guests to stay and order more, the approach did the opposite. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my impression of the place, and I don't see myself returning. There are other spots in the area with a similar concept that offer a much more welcoming and customer-friendly experience, and I would recommend exploring those instead.

Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday.
