Tropical Tribe is a cute hidden gem with tasty eats! It is located on the bottom floor of a little shopping center. It can be a little tricky to find. It is an order and pick up at the counter eatery. My daughter (an açaí bowl junkie) had read the reviews and really wanted to try an açai bowl so we set out to find it. We visited on a Monday morning for breakfast. The decor is beachy and tropical . The vibe is casual and relaxed. It has a tiny indoor seating area and a few tables outside. We sat outside. We ordered a latte, an açai bowl, and a smoothie. I was bummed that my smoothie could not be customized. The base was premade so I was not able to make any adjustments to it. Our items were ready in a reasonable amount of time. The portion size was a little smaller than we expected. As for taste, the açai bowl was good. The smoothie was a little bland, but at the same time, had a tad too much honey. Service was wonderful. We would visit again.
Tropical Tribe is a must have! My friends and I researched every açaí spot in the Waikiki Beach area and were torn whether to go for this chain or to try out something more local. We tried a couple spots and surprisingly this one was our favorite, mainly because of the portions and also because they offered two kinds of acai - Hawaiian and Brazilian. Personally, I loved the Brazilian. It had more of a nutty texture and tasted less like a smoothie. It's hard to find Brazilian acai elsewhere, so I thoroughly enjoyed it! It took about 5-10 minutes to receive our acai, which wasn't too bad. There wasn't much of a seating area though.
A new friend recommended @tropicaltribehi close to our hotel, so we decided to check it out today. It was a little tricky to find it since it wasn't in the upper level. We stopped at Subway to ask and found it at the lower level. Hubby and I shared the Hawaiian style small bowl with premium topping, which had bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola, and honey. It felt like I was eating ice cream. Just enough to share. Highly recommend!
Açaí bowls make for great unique tropical breakfasts. They're healthy too. Tropical Tribe is at the edge of the beach and if you need to eat inside, there is enough room to do so or take your bowl on a walk or sit at nearby tables. I had the Pineapple Paradise Hawaiian style. All the best flavors of the islands. We'll pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, coconut, açaí, and granola. Pretty much my favorites. Pop in for a tropical morning breakfast on the beach. You won't be disappointed.
This was a really good açaí bowl! I selected my own toppings and went with a fruity bowl. I want to go back and order more of a chocolate/peanut butter bowl. The employees working were really friendly and nice. The location is smaller inside, with just a couple seats, but there are tables and chairs outside to use!
I had the iced coconut lavender matcha and the Hawaiian style pineapple passion açaí bowl. A delicious and sweet meal and I would absolutely come back here for the food, good service and convenience since it's right by my hotel.

I love Tropical Tribe! This spot is located in the Discovery Bay shopping center on the corner of Ala Moana Boulevard and Hobron Lane. You can attempt to find street parking or park in the Discovery Bay parking structure ($1 for ~30 minutes or free validated parking with a $20 purchase at the store). The store itself is nestled on the bottom floor of the shopping center and is relatively small, but there are several tables outside the shop to sit at. It usually gets quite busy in the morning given tourist traffic, but the wait usually isn't too bad! The menu has a variety of options, from a build-your-own acai bowl to Brazilian cheese bread. My typical go-to is a regular-sized Brazilian bowl with the tropical toppings. The staff members at the shop are super friendly, and my bowl usually comes out in 10-15 minutes (given the wait, there's usually 5 or more people ahead of your order -- otherwise it's pretty quick when the shop isn't as busy). I always love the acai, which is delicious and smooth, and the fruits are fresh with super crispy/crunchy granola. I love how their acai base doesn't come premixed like other stores, since I'm allergic to bananas and other fruits. The customizability and freshness of the bowls are hard to beat! This is currently my favorite spot for acai bowls. Love this place!
Tasty açaí bowls! Only thing is there was too much honey that it was unbearable to eat the toppings, it was far too sweet. Otherwise just eating the base alone was tasty It didn't take too long to receive our orders. There's some tables outside of the shop for seating.
Hidden little gem located on the lower level of an unassuming strip of retailers. Next door to McDonald's. Small shop but friendly staff and delicious acai bowls with fresh fruit. Prices are reasonable for honolulu area.
Wow!! I would've come here three times a day every day during our stay if I could've. I had a yummy Brazilian sunset açaí bowl for a late breakfast. It was so delicious with all the fresh toppings, including goji berries, papaya, raspberries, kiwi, toasted coconut, granola, and a drizzle of honey. It was a bit of mystery when trying to find the entrance, but luckily after searching and searching I found a set of stairs to take me to the lower level where the entrance is located. The staff are super nice and friendly.
Tropical tribe was right across the street from our hotel which was nice! I got the Brazilian style regular Acai bowl and it came out super quick. The service was so sweet and friendly. I also tried their cheese bread. The Acai was the perfect consistency and tasted so fresh. All of the fruit was cut and placed so nicely. Granola also tasted very fresh and crunchy. Looove- and much more affordable than other spots. The cheese bread was also a very fun eat. Chewy and cheesy and warm- so comforting. Should definitely stop by if you're craving Acai! They have many location in the Waikiki area. Not a lot of seating inside but you can definitely walk it back to the beach and enjoy it there!

This is my first time to try an Açaí bowl in Hawaii and wow it was delicious! The quality and taste is very different compassed to the places in CA I go to. I got the Hawaiian bowl with the premium topping. Comparing to other açaí places in Honolulu, the prices are much cheaper here. I am glad I tried this hidden gem. It is downstairs so you cannot see it from the Main Street (Ala Moana). There are some chairs and tables you can sit at outside. I like that it's downstairs so you get a peaceful environment away from the street. The workers there are also very friendly. They helped me order and were very fast read more
My friends and I had such a busy day and wanted to end the day with something refreshing! So happy that we remembered this açaí place! It's definitely a hidden gem! Not gonna lie, I woke up with a mean hangover today. Usually I get pho, but today I wanted something fruity and healthy. Tropical tribe is my new favorite açaí bowl spot! I read the reviews that the small açaí bowl size was too small so I ordered the large, and let me say that bowl is HUGE! The açaí is blended perfectly smooth, they give a ton of fruit, and the bee pollen is amaaaaaazing! Also ordered the twister smoothie (refreshing, delicious, ahhh the hangover is slowly dwindling). Most people like fries for hangovers, but I got something better this time: Pao de Queijo! My boyfriend calls it "Brazilian cheesy bread, but chewy and the best thing ever". I concur! I ordered this through BiteSquad and it got to me perfectly cold and not melted. To get to this store, you'll need to take a flight of stairs to go below street level to get to the store front. It is a tiny store with 2 seats. Outside the shop, there are 5 2-person tables: 2 outdoor tables and 3 indoor tables. Got a regular açaí bowl with a tropical tribe base and sunset toppings. It was tasty and all the fruits were ripe. 5/5 Got a gluten free cheese bread. The outside had a crumbly pastry texture and the inside was soft and gooey. When they give it to you from the case, it is pretty warm. By the time I ate it a short time later, it was a pleasant warm temperature. This was delicious gluten free bread but tiny. 5/5 (It would have been a 6/5 if it was cheaper.) Got a 12 oz iced soy milk latte. The dark roast was surprisingly strong. Got an 8 oz cappuccino. It was also a strong dark roast. 5/5 for all the Brazilian food. read more

My wife and I recently visited Tropical Tribe for a quick lunch. The shop is known for its Acai bowls. I tried the Hawaiian Bowl and it was phenomenal! Fresh flavorful strawberry, blueberry, and banana, crunchy granola, and sweet honey sat on a flavorful smoothie blend of fresh fruits. The bowl was a perfect combination of rich tropical flavors. You can also get 10% off with a yelp check in. This is a must visit when in Honolulu. read more

Mmmm yummy, thanks Yelpers & Googlers for helping me to find this place. Move over Island Vintage I have found a NEW #1 FAVE acai place on Oahu in Tropical Tribe. Really hard & inconvenient place to drive to though. It's located in the Discovery Bay complex right underneath McDonald's on Ala Moana boulevard on the way to Ala Moana Beach. You have to park in the commercial parking lot and I think you get like half an hour free with validation. I got the large original acai bowl with the power toppings which came with bananas, granola, honey, peanut butter, and cacao nibs. Totally delicious post workout treat! Island vintage was formerly my favorite place, but the line there is always insane! Sometimes you have to wait 45 minutes to get your bowl. And it's also hard to get to over there too as you have to park in Royal Hawaiian shopping center. Real acai berries and guarana, which provides a caffeinated kick like ginseng. Not too sweet which I love, and flavorful. They do not skimp on toppings here and I was able to get topping in every bite of my cup even down to the very bottom. You'll feel it when you pick it up, this is a hefty bowl. $15 is still pretty expensive but it's par for the course here while on vacation in Hawaii. A special treat. Can't do this all the time otherwise I'll go broke on acai bowls lol. My only gripe is that there's only one worker and there was only one person in front of me. It took me like 12 to 15 minutes to get my bowl, which is unacceptable in my opinion for a fast food establishment. It should take like 5 minutes max but there's only one person in there taking orders and making each order individually. Management if you're reading this, you need a better system. But definitely 5 out of 5 stars on taste. read more
If you want authentic Brazilian acai bowls, this is your spot. All the ingredients were super fresh and this was the best acai bowl I've ever tried. My fiancé found it on our short stay in Honolulu and I made us come back here every morning it was so good! We tried both tropical bowl and Hawaiian bowl variations, both were tasty. The honey pollen doesn't taste like anything, so unless you're wanting it for health benefits, I'd opt for the coconut flakes. Tip- they use lots of honey here, so if that's not your thing, be sure to ask for it on the side. read more

My favorite ACAI and CHEESE BREAD spot Their tropical tribe bowl is made with Açaí and Guaraná berry juice. We upgraded the toppings to tropical - with Banana, Strawberry, Blueberry, Granola, Raw Honey and Coconut Shred (or Bee Pollen). This is my favorite Açaí bowl since I've tried it about 2 years ago (before this food account). Maybe it's the Guaraná berry juice that made a difference, but it honestly tastes so good! They don't put much granola (which is a plus for me). Not the pretties bowl, but it sure is tasty! Their raw honey is delicious too! And their Cheese Paos are out of this world! I daydream of eating this every day lol Crusty on the outside and oh so cheesy on the inside! Make sure to buy more than one - cause I know you'll want more! They opened another branch in Haleiwa! Quite possibly the best acai bowls I've had to date. The honey was heavenly. Like yeah, the acai and everything was great but the honey sold it for me. I need a huge bowl of that to just snack on or stick my head in. Tropical Tribe is in an auspicious spot in a larger building. It's a bit small but still, the flavor is packing and again, I am a huge fan of the honey and I cannot stress how sweet and amazing it is. The acai itself is also amazing yes along with the toppings but ugh, the honey. I'm going to repeat myself multiple times so I'll just stop now. At this point you probably know (or don't know) what to get. Parking is found in the lot of that building, tell the parking attendant you're going to Tropical Tribe and you can validate your ticket to pay $1 or $2 I forget. read more

Ended up going here three times on my eight day trip. I was in an Airbnb right across the street and I'm so glad I heard about this place! It's a little hard to find at first - when you're at the McDonald's, turn right and go down the stairs to find it. It's on the level below the McDonald's. Tropical tribe bowl (regular size) with standard topping was my go to! Little pricy but it's really fresh and yummy. Once I tried waiting in line at Island Vintage for their açaí bowl and ended up leaving and coming to Tropical Tribe instead. Why wait hours in line for an açaí bowl when you can get Tropical Tribe in just a couple minutes? read more
Easily one of the top acai places on the island. Located in the basement of discovery center, accessible via Ala Moana Blvd. They offer 2 different styles of acai: Brazilian or Local . Brazilian style acai bowl has a great texture and not too watery. Local style is more watery as they blend the base with apple juice. Variety of toppings available to choose from. Standard toppings (banana, granola and honey) are free but they charge extra for anything extra. My favorite combo toppings set is "tropical topping" (+$1.70): Banana, Strawberry, Blueberry, Granola, Raw honey and bee pollen. Their acai bowls are offered in 3 different sizes. I usually get the small and it is more than enough. In addition to the regular acai menu, they also offer variety of smoothies and coffee/expresso drinks which I have never tried. Ohh and while there, don't forget to try their yummy cheese bread. They are delicious!!! I usually park at the lagoon by Hilton across the street and take the 5 minute walk but if you are eager to find an in-house parking, discovery center offers 30 minute parking for $1, free with the purchase of $20 with validation. Staff are friendly and customer service is great as well! read more
Conveniently located across the Prince Waikiki hotel, Tropical Tribe offers the best açaí bowls I've had in Hawaii. The prices are reasonable. You can customize your base as well as your toppings. For one person, I would recommend a small "tropical tribe bowl" with "premium toppings". Highly recommended. read more
A few days prior, my wife was walking by Tropical Tribe, on her way to pick up a cup of coffee. Noticed the massive açaí bowls coming out of the place, so a few days later, she mentioned going there for breakfast which I thought was a great idea because it was on my list of quick eats to check out in Honolulu. We arrived at about 7:15AM with only one person in line in front of us. We had our hearts set on a good old-fashioned açaí bowl so we decided on the tropical bowl. Just before we checked out we noticed a warmer filled with little wonderful pao de queijo's ready to be eaten. Then we realized that they're sold their fresh until they sell out. We had no choice, but to buy a few of them, which were amazingly fluffy, warm, and most of all. cheesy. Our bowl was the perfect quick breakfast, and was large enough for the three of us to share. We were so thankful that this açai bowl spot was a short walking distance from our resort. It made the trip even more worth it. As we left, there was a line of 12 people behind us, so if you're going to visit, visit early. read more

This has got to be the best açaí bowl I've ever tasted in my life so far!!! I got the tropical tribe bowl and went for the tropical toppings which included raw honey and pollen. The pollen and honey were definitely the highlight! The honey was so sweet and flavorful. The pollen was a nice fragrant kick that blended all of the fruity flavors in the bowl together. I loved the sweet granola which gave the bowl more crunch and texture. A bit pricey at $9 for a small bowl but the quality of the ingredients was well worth the price!!!! Loved loved loved loved everything about this açaí bowl! Can be a bit tricky to find. It's located on the first floor inside an old shopping complex. Parking in the structure of this build was free though. The gates were not working when we entered but I do believe they validate parking! read more

An amazing place in Waikiki to get an açaí bowl. If you are staying in Waikiki, it's nice to be able to walk to this place for a treat. I always get the tropical tribe bowl with the tropical topping with bee pollen. I used to get this exact topping style when my friends and I would get açaí bowls ten years ago. Not many places now serve the thick honey let alone bee pollen with their açaí bowls. The prices are reasonable and the amount you get is great as a meal. Definitely recommend trying their açaí bowls because it doesn't taste like they have a lot of fillers in the acai. And the ratio of toppings to açaí is perfect! read more
Let me start of by saying that I have never had an Acai bowl before. I've heard of it and seen it but never had the motivation to try it. It always appeared way too healthy for me. lol. But in Hawaii, it's different. Their fruit is so fresh. So, my friend got an Acai Bowl from this place. And, it surprisingly looked good so I had some of his and right away I was hooked! So, I got myself one as well. The Acai bowl is hands down so refreshing. My friend said this was one of the better and best Acai bowl he's had. I am so glad my first Acai bowl was here. It set the bar high for me. Now, when I have an Acai bowl in California, I will be thinking of the Acai bowl from here. read more

I pretty late the the acai bowl game. I heard this place is the best. I had a preconceived idea of how I "thought" an açaí bowl would taste. I knew it'd be ok, but it wasn't ever top on my list of things to try. I am kicking myself now because I've lived next to this place for 5 years and have been missing out! That's 5 years I could have already been enjoying this deliciousness! I love everything about this place. The workers are friendly and will tell you about the quality ingredients, sources, and history of the store. You can see them in the back working hard to keep up with the demand of the orders: making each bowl by carefully cutting the fruit, drizzling the syrup and raw honey. If you are lucky, you will get there right as some of the cheese bread (pao de queijo) are coming out of the oven! I was able to get some today. If they run out it takes about 30 minutes before more will be ready. read more
