I will make a 30 minute drive just for this I've never had anything like this, it's strangely addicting the more you eat it. The Carioca bowl has condensed milk and milk powder that pairs perfectly with the açaí. (Be careful on choking on the powder!) Fruits are super fresh and delicious. Workers are sweet and the decor is cute. Parking in the back right behind Jenny's shrimp truck. It's a small alleyway so watch out for the small parking sign. Lol I forgot to take a picture of my açaí bowl before i demolished it so here is the one that my friend took of hers. That is because it look so appetizing and it was amazing. Made with fresh fruits and ingredients, it was delicious. I was done with my bowl before i even noticed it. I have been trying to hit up every açaí bowl place i come across on the island before i go back to the mainland. And you cannot go wrong with any açaí bowl place in Hawaii. There is parking behind the store but you can miss it if you don't see the entrance. We passed it a few times looking for parking. The service was great as the lady behind the counter was super friendly. I ordered the small premium açaí bowl and asked to swap the blueberries with extra bananas and/or strawberries and she did :) The shop was clean and there are a few tables for you to sit down and enjoy your açaí bowls. They're a frozen bag mix you'd find at the grocery store. At least it's not purely juices though! I visited Tropical Tribe in Haleiwa and got two bowls, both with the Tropical Tribe base--one with premium toppings and one with tropical toppings. Honestly, they were nothing special, and the bowls kind of made my stomach hurt. I love the Brazilian Açaí bowl that Tropical Tribe sells. It is really tasty and worth the trip.

Since the early 2000's, acai bowls have grown in popularity, especially since they're considered a super food filled with anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, and healthy fats; and they're Instagrammable with their colorful fruits. They were popularized by surfers in CA and HI who sought tasty and refreshing treats after demanding and exhausting mornings of surfing. Owner Andre Alves de Moraes started Tropical Tribe with a food truck on Kapiolani Blvd. in 2012 and a year later, opened a successful brick and mortar store in Discovery Bay, Waikiki.  His authentic acai bowls and smoothies have become so popular that he has opened a 2nd location in Haleiwa at the end of June 2021, and a 3rd location in the Outrigger Hotel on Kalia Rd. in Waikiki on 9/24/21. We had the following: · Acai bowl.  It had guarana juice, granola, toasted almonds, honey, sliced bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. This was so delicious, refreshing, creamy, not too sweet nor too tart, and just perfect!  The acai reminded me of a pomegranate and raspberry blend.  The fresh fruits were really fresh, as there were no blemishes, and the blueberries were slightly crisp.  While I'm not really an acai bowl fan, this one particularly has made me change my mind, as I honestly really enjoyed it!  You choose your blend and various toppings, some at additional costs. · Pao queijo.  These small gluten-free cheese bread balls, made with Brazilian root (Yucca flour), are a popular snack and breakfast food in Brazil.  They were warmed when they were served, and the cheese just melts in your mouth.  Very rich in cheese, these balls had a lot of flavor and so delicious! · Freshly brewed Kona coffee. This blend had a great aroma and was deliciously mellow!  Served temperature hot, it was not bitter and was perfect! Servers Stephanie and Angelo were both so friendly and accommodating, as they explained their healthy menu offerings and provided suggestions.  As we chose to eat our items there, it was a pleasant ambiance, with both asking if everything was okay.  (Sorry to miss owner Andre who was in Brazil.) COVID requirements in place:  required masks, hand sanitizer available on the counter, social distancing. The shop interior is clean, spacious, bright, whimsical, and has a warm ambiance.  Nice, colorful wall paintings, artificial lavender plants, and a unique "LOVE" art made from magazine pages rolled into tubes.  There were three tables with four seats each, as well as benches inside and outside the shop. Hours of operation are 9a to 6p daily.  Free parking available in the back lot or in front.  Tropical Tribe is located next to Mana + Pua.  Credit cards accepted. So grateful for Tropical Tribe for introducing to us the flavorful and authentic Brazilian acai bowls and cheese bread, as we would never have known to step out of our comfort zone to try them.  We look forward to returning to try other flavors of their Brazilian acai bowls, as well as their smoothies, knowing that their menu offerings are the real thing! read more

This is my absolute favorite acai and coffee place I've tried on the island! They have so many options for what to top your bowl with and the fruit is always super fresh which is awesome because some other places I've tried are more hit or miss. The coffees are also great I love the flavors they have and I feel like the prices are super fair too. Service is always nice and I really just can't recommend this place enough! Thank you Yelp event that introduced me to this fabulous authentic Brazilian Açai Bowl that's just life changing!! It has to be the Tropical Tribe Bowl (Açai and Guaranà berry juice) with Power toppings adding Peanut Butter Paçoca. I've never had PB in an Açai bowl but it's the usual topping in Brazil is what owner Andra and taught me this is the traditional way they make it in Brazil and I absolutely love it now...speaking of love have you tried their Pão de Queijo? It's a cheese bread made with Yucca flour making it gluten free but AHAAAA the best cheesy goodness and will be totally addicted, you seriously need to try them!! Right on the counter I noticed a can of Guarana soda and asked about it...difiicult to describe I decided to give it a try, the best that I can say is it's like a refresher it's so light and refreshing and nothing that I have ever before it pairs perfectly with my bowl and duuuhhh it's part of the base lol! Yes this location is in Hale'iwa lots of parking in the back and few indoor seating is available but definitely a beautiful relaxing vibe to take a break from adulting. What a great experience! I decided to get a small tropical tribal bowl with premium topping, I also got a cold brew with Mac nut syrup yummy! As if this wasn't enough i got 3 pieces of pao de queijo. OMG! That was soooo delicious! Warm, cheesy, moist with a texture that reminded me of Mochi. It was made from cassava flour hence the texture. I'm kicking myself for not buying more! Ugh, yes it was that good! That acai bowl was perfect. Very tasty and packed with beautiful fruit that was layered and placed so perfectly. I appreciate beautiful food. I've always been a fan of Tropical Tribe's Ala Moana location so finding out they had a location on the North Shore was perfect. The girlfriends and I stopped by on our way to the beach and picked up some treats to take with us. The shop itself is cute and a great place to hang out at when making your way in or out of Haleiwa town. It's in the same strip mall as Mana + Pua, so we knew that there was plenty of parking in the back. We opted for an açaí bowl and some Nosh bread. Filling but also a light snack--both left us feeling full but not pushed over the edge. We tried their Brazilian styled açaí bowl made with guarana berry juice and açaí (top quality açaí to be exact--grade A organic berries). Perfectly sweet but at the same time tart, this snack was just what we needed to fuel our North Shore adventures. In addition to the top notch treats, the staff here is the best of the best. My wife and I are seniors so we usually opt for familiar foods when we take out or dine in so believe it or not we tasted our first açaí bowl not too long ago and loved it. We went to Tropical Tribe for a Yelp Elite function and just loved the açaí bowl there. It seems that they use the sweetest strawberries, bananas and blue berries and cover it with honey and awesome granola. Since then we have tried other açaí bowls and felt unfulfilled because none of them were as good as Tropical Tribe's version. Wow! One of the top acai places I've been to. Tropical Tribe is a cute little cafe in the beginning of Haleiwa Town with lots of parking in the back. There are some seating inside, about 3 tables. (Note: this is their second location. They also have a spot in Waikiki.) Tropical Tribe offers two different styles of acai bowls: Brazilian and Local. The Brazilian style acai bowl is their signature bowl made with acai and guarana berry juice. The Local style acai bowl is a blend of acai, apple juice and a variety of tropical fruits, which is what most of us are familiar with. In addition to acai bowls, they serve pao de queijo (gluten-free cheese bread), smoothies, coffee and teas. I learned that Tropical Tribe serves Waiana Apalai Acai, the Grade A organic berries. They believe in selling the best and most authentic product possible. You'll be able to taste the quality for sure. My friends and I ordered the Tropical Tribe Bowl (the Brazilian style acai) with the Power Topping, Pao De Queijo, a Cold Brew (iced coffee), a Mocha and an Americano. Everything tasted amazing. I highly recommend the Brazilian style acai bowl. The flavor is creamier and has a nice blend, unlike the familiar local version that can sometimes taste slightly tart and watery. You know it taste good when your friend that doesn't like acai bowls pleasantly eats some of your Tropical Tribe Bowl. I also felt that the Power Topping matched perfectly, which consists of banana, peanut butter, raw cacao nibs, granola and honey. I've never had peanut butter with my acai bowls before, so I was a little hesitant, but it absolutely worked. Although the Tropical Tribe Bowl could be eaten alone (because it is that good), I really enjoyed it with the Power Topping. Thanks Andre for the recommendation. I feel bad for giving three stars because I felt like it could of been really good but I left disappointed and unsatisfied. I been craving an Acai Bowl for quite a while now and I finally made my way up to Haleiwa and had a hard time choosing where to get my craving satisfied. I came across Tropical Tribe and it had great reviews so here I am. I ordered the Tropical Tribe and I really wanted some good honey so I upgraded my topping to the Tropical Toppings for $2 more because it included the RAW honey which is a tad bit more expensive than regular honey, yumm! The girl working asked if I wanted a choice or bee pollen or coconut shred which came with the tropical topping and I chose bee pollen. When I got my order I noticed the "raw" honey looked different from the pictures and just looked like regular honey...also there seemed to be very very little honey in general but I thought maybe if I dig down since there is a bunch toppings and granola on the bottom there would be more honey but the more I digged the more I realized that there just wasn't that much honey. I could barely taste any honey in my bowl and I felt sad. Half way through the bowl I finally got the courage to ask the girl working if this was raw honey or regular honey and she told me they ran out of RAW honey!!! Now I felt upset and disappointed and could only reply with "oh". I wish she told me when I ordered, I kinda felt ripped off. I wouldn't have ordered the tropical topping if I knew that and just went with what was standard or another upgrade. In general, the other toppings were good and the Acai itself was good it was not sweet at all and I can see how it could be really good if it had more honey which I think other reviewers may have had but unfortunately I didn't have that experience. read more

They win because of the quality of their acai - I prefer the flavor of the darker colored Brazilian style acai (some other places taste diluted or lack the subtle deliciousness of acai blended correctly). I used to get all type of toppings, but the premium topping (at no extra charge) is perfect for me - I mainly want to savor the Acai. I even ask for "half the granola and half the honey" to justify that I want an acai bowl every other day!
