Went here to get my free birthday smoothie. It was really tasty and the employee at the counter was excellent! :)

Our first visit to Joya's was actually Plan B after discovering another restaurant we planned to…read morevisit wasn't open on Tuesdays. Plan B worked out pretty well! We told the woman at the register that it was our first visit, and she was very helpful. She told us the Joya's Breakfast Sandwich was their most popular sandwich, so we both ordered one. It comes on a pav-tato roll with bacon, cheesy eggs, chutneys and chives. I thought it was excellent. It has a distinctive flavor and a little bit of a kick. Cindy noticed the heat more than I did, but she really liked the sandwich and especially loved the pav-tato roll. Everything tasted fresh, the portion size was great for brunch, and we both finished the whole thing. I had the Rose Mocha. The rose was pretty subtle to me, but it was a very good mocha regardless. Cindy had coffee and said it was excellent. Joya's is small and cozy, and it stayed busy during our visit around 11 AM. There were usually three or four people in line at the register, but service was quick. Our drinks arrived within a couple of minutes and the sandwiches in about 5-7 minutes. I also got a kick out of the self-serve water station: sparkling H2O is "fancy water," iced H2O is "cold water, very sad," and ambient H2O is "just water, kinda mid." Little touches like that give the place personality. The prices may be a little more than some places, but the portions were good, everything tasted fresh, and the quality made it feel worthwhile. We would definitely go back! Joya's 657 N. High St., Worthington, OH 43085

Stunned!! Have been meaning to try out Joya's for a long time, and finally got around to it. We had…read morea bit of a wait, but for how busy it was, they are quite efficient! One of the servers came around with samples of their new drink, which was Oaxacan inspired tea and such a phenomenal first experience. I could have had a gallon of the drink! I ordered the Kati Roll and the chicken sandwich for my husband to go. The Kati roll is the best savory meal I've had in months! The first bite made my eyes go round with how flavorful it was. It had a bit of sweetness that balanced with the other flavors so beautifully. The chicken sandwich was also a 10/10 from my husband, despite being eaten an hour after ordering. Though, if we had to pick one, we'd say the Kati roll would win. We were seated almost immediately after ordering. Despite how busy it was, it didn't feel over-crowded. They told us about 45 min for our food, since they were so busy and backed up, but our food arrived not even 20 minutes later. Also, everyone we interacted with was so kind and pleasant! Honestly, everything we tried was perfection. As a Bengali myself, I was overjoyed with the representation. I can't wait to come back (maybe on a weekday when the line might be shorter?)

My usual order is the Reuben on rye with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, and Russian dressing. It's always my go-to and never disappoints. I also recently tried the State & Main on rye with corned beef, pastrami, and coleslaw, which was another solid choice. I've heard great things about the Paesano on an Italian sub bun with ham, hot capicola, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and Italian dressing (can be served hot or cold). A friend's favorite is the Figaboudit on grilled ciabatta with prosciutto, fig jam, goat cheese, and arugula. If you go, don't skip the homemade chips with the house-made sour cream and onion dip--it's easily my favorite thing on the menu and worth ordering as a side or appetizer.

Parking was super easy, with free parking lots around the area. I honestly expected this to be a small deli, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a full restaurant as you walk further inside. It was packed for a Saturday lunch, which was a good sign! Since it was just the two of us, we sat at a communal high-top. Service was a little slow to start. We waited around 10 minutes before a server came over, but once we got going, things were fine. We started with the cheese curds, and these were delicious! They tasted fresh and homemade and were definitely one of our favorites. For sandwiches, I ordered the Italian beef and my partner got a turkey sandwich with some type of pesto on it. Both sandwiches were great! The Italian beef was more similar to a French dip, but it was still really tasty. My partner loved his turkey sandwich as well. The chips, however, were disappointing. They were extremely bland and definitely needed some salt or seasoning. We also tried the French onion dip, which was fine, but the chips really took away from it. The beer cheese was a total no for us. It was VERY liquidy and grainy, almost more like beer cheese soup than a dip. We were especially disappointed because it was an upcharge. Overall, we really enjoyed the sandwiches and cheese curds, and I would definitely come back to try another sandwich. I just wish the chips had more flavor and the beer cheese was thicker and more dip-like!
