First time ordering from Tropical Smoothie Cafe... I decided to go with a Caribbean Jerk Chicken Wrap, a bag of Miss Vickie's Sea Salt & Vinegar Chips, and a Sunrise Sunset Smoothie. Service and the ease of ordering was great! The prices aren't bad at all. However... When I went to set the smoothie down on my desk...I must have gripped it too tight...and my thumb went right through the cup towards the bottom. As my smoothie started to empty out the hole made by my thumb I frantically laid it on it's side praying the lid wouldn't pop off while I tried to retrieve a couple of cups from the break room. Carefully I drained it from the bottom into each cup. While normally I would take full responsibility for this... The cups for that heavy of a drink could stand be a little more sturdy. I'll be more careful in the future... Lol The Sunrise Sunset smoothie itself tasted very good. A mix of strawberries, pineapple, mango & orange juice. The Caribbean Jerk Chicken wrap tasted fantastic too. Grilled chicken, rice, black beans, cheddar, roasted pineapple salsa, romaine and jerk sauce in a gluten free wrap. It has some heat too! Not enough to be overwhelming, but enough that it lets you know that it's there. The accident with the cup aside... A very good first experience! read more

I received an absolute abomination of a "Cali breakfast flat bread" today. See the images advertised versus what i received. The whole thing was dripping in sauce and soggy. There was hardly any egg at all, no avocado, and barely any chicken. They were not busy when I went in and there was absolutely no care put into into this. It was so bad I didn't even try to eat it and threw it away. Looked nothing like the picture. Not worth driving back to fix this. Incredibly disappointing. I highly recommend NOT getting the new Cali Breakfast Flatbread. I would give this zero stars if I could. read more

I placed my order online and picked up in the store. It was ready in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Thai chicken wrap which came with a side (I chose chips) for $8. It was delicious however I do wish it was a little bigger. I also wish they had other drink options besides smoothies. I didn't even see an option to get a bottle of water. read more

I was in Charlotte for the week and found a smoothie place that I had 4 days straight and always got the chai banana boost and it was so good. When I got back West Des Moines I told my wife and we decided to try it the next day. I got the same smoothie but unfortunately it was watered down and didn't taste the same. This place always has my smoothie ready when I order through the app 2-5 minutes before I get there. The smoothies are so good. I put the "Peter" in "Picky EaTER" and I get this every day to help me get the fruit I need. The people here are awesome. Came here from work to get lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Buffalo chicken salad bowl was great. It came with chips or a fruit. When you get food items there, they give you a smoothie as an add-on for only $3. And these are large smoothies that normally cost $6 somewhere else. So it was great and refreshing. a great place to get a little snack and a refreshing smoothie. in my personal opinion my favorite things to get from here are the sunrise sunset smoothie because it is fruity and not to sweet but still sweet then the grilled cheese which they do not have anymore sadly. The grilled cheese was my favorite food item because it was supper cheese and a delicious snack to have right after gymnastics practice during the summer time!! This is why I recommend coming by to. I love this place! Tropical Smoothie Cafe features good sandwiches and wraps and amazing smoothies. The Bahama Mama is my absolute fave as it has strawberries, bananas, coconut, and white chocolate. It's to die for. I've had the Cuban (meh) and the chicken caesar wrap (pretty good). They also have a good kale and apple slaw for a side that is really tasty. I'm not even an apple person, but it's good! The prices here are also not bad, about $10.50 on average for a sandwich/wrap, side, and large smoothie. Check it out! read more

Usually smoothies here are good but today I got my usual chia banana max and it tastes like cinnamon and ice were blended together and poured in a cup. I can't taste the banana or peanut butter or protein powder. I'm pretty upset because I'm on a liquid only diet rn and this location is 20 min away.
