I first heard about this coffee shop from a coworker. Their coffee is, quite literally, the best…read morecoffee I've ever had. I'd genuinely love to know which local roasters they source their beans from. What stands out most is how smooth the coffee is--there's absolutely no bitter aftertaste. Their honey brown sugar latte deserves special recognition. So many honey lattes either taste overly artificial or like the honey is barely there at all. Not this one. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and it's honestly one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. I could drink gallons of it. The quality is fantastic and I've found myself thinking about that latte long after I've finished it. My only complaint is that I don't live closer. If I did, I'd probably be there every day.

The snickerdoodle was perfectly spiced and still had some coffee flavor. The mocha was delicious, certainly an occasional treat as it is more of a coffee milkshake than a coffee. We also ordered the mini apple cider donuts which were okay, they seemed to be plain donuts tossed in cinnamon sugar and the dough had a funny aftertaste. Overall they have a killer menu and a cute & homey sitting area and patio. With so many coffee and caffeine drinks to try- we'll be back!

OMG, this place is in such a nice area! They have a huge menu with so many amazing options to…read morechoose from. I ordered the Pit Master Sandwich with a side of French onion soup (you get to choose a side with the sandwich). The sandwich was really good! The bread was buttery and soft, and the homemade croutons in the soup were clearly made from fresh bread. The French onion soup wasn't for me--it kind of tasted like acid reflux to me, so I gave it to my mom. She actually thought it was pretty good. The sandwich had perfectly balanced barbecue sauce and cheese, although I thought the barbecue sauce overpowered the cheese a bit. Next time, I'd probably order it without the cheese. The brisket was good, but I would've preferred a fattier cut because I think it would have been more flavorful. I also wasn't a fan of the Gouda since it didn't melt very well, but the other cheese on the sandwich was delicious. Overall, the food was incredible, and this place is an absolute MUST if you're in the area! I noticed they have around 78,000 DoorDash orders, and after eating here, I can definitely see why. I'll actually be coming back in a few days before I leave my vacation because there are so many other delicious items on the menu that I can't wait to try! Staff were also nice!

Love popping in here. Been going since the beginning of July and I normally pop in once or twice a…read moreweek. I have a gluten allergy so it is so nice to see that they take it seriously. They have a celiac button to warn staff to be extra careful and even have gluten sensitive desserts including: cookies, donuts, scones, and slices of cake everyday. I will say I am disappointed about finding out the breakfast potatoes are not gluten free. I only recently found out and have now figured out that I have been glutening myself off and on since July 3rd. I did have one major screwup a few weeks ago too. I did a pickup order for the quinoa powerbowl. The cook substituted my quinoa for couscous even though my food was marked celiac. Only figured it out after taking a bite. Couscous is apparently new to the fall menu. I really wish the food allergen training was better done in staff training. No person seems to have the same training on the safety and what food allergens are in what food. This was what I thought was a safe place for me which is why I have continued to come. I now take extra caution when I do stop. Today was good. I grabbed a Baja chicken rice bowl, no pepper jack or ranch. They actually had cinnamon roll cake (looked more like coffee cake with frosting on top) which is a first for them, it was really good. My mom grabbed a grilled cheese and her all time favorite carmalita bar.

I'm writing this review as I'm sitting inside the cozy Twisted Bean Coffee Company on a comfy…read morecouch, sipping a delicious latte. The first thing I did when I landed in Des Moines was search for a coffee shop. Being from the PNW, I fancy myself as a bit of a coffee snob, so I'm always unsure of what I'll get when I travel. Oddly, most of the coffee shops in Des Moines seem to be street or paid parking only, which is a turnoff for me. So when I found this place with a parking lot and good reviews, I was sold. I drove straight from the airport after a long, early morning flight in desperate need of a caffeine boost. As promised, there is a dedicated parking lot right off the main drag. Inside is surprisingly spacious, with a variety of seating options, including a workspace that it appears you can reserve? I was greeted by the friendly barista and after studying the menu for a bit, I asked her recommend between the Marshmallow Macchiato and the Autumn Bliss (seasonal drink). She said both were really good, but the marshmallow macchiato was sweeter, so I opted for the Autumn Bliss which is a combo of cinnamon, caramel and vanilla. It's a chilly day here, so while I usually get iced, I opted for hot today. My drink was up within a couple minute, I settled into the comfy couch and took my first sip. I was immediately warmed by the cinnamon and rounded out by the caramel and vanilla notes. The best thing is that you can actually still taste the vanilla through the flavoring. My drink was reasonably priced too, especially coming from Las Vegas. Definitely a cute coffee shop to read, work, or socialize while enjoying delicious espresso drinks.
