I've been here about ten times and I always order the same thing- Bahama Mama smoothie bowl +mango. The fruit is always fresh and the people are really nice. If you place a mobile order it's done really quickly, usually before the promised time. I really like tropical smoothie and this location to be exact. I ordered tropical smoothie on the day they were giving away their free smoothie for flip flop day. Because I didn't read (totally my fault) I placed an order for 2 smoothies other than the free ones through the app. When I realized that I'd ordered the wrong smoothies! I went back into the app and tried to cancel the order and I couldn't figure out how to do it so I called the store and they didn't know how to do it either, they kept saying we have to speak with the manager and no one ever called me back which I assumed that they didn't know how to do it. So, I called them back and said I'll just opt to do smoothies that I ordered and pick them up later and they were really nice about this. I was able to pick up the smoothies on 2 separate days so far. I also ordered the chipotle chicken flatbreads and they were amazing! The staff at this location is amazing and they were very accommodating although I would suggest that they learn more about the app or how to go into the app to cancel orders (it's doable just because I called another location and the lady was able to log in and see the order but because it wasn't at her store she couldn't cancel it) I would go back to this location. I have been to this location several times and today was the day that sealed the deal - the deal of never coming back to this location. Short version of this review: this place is sloppy & slow, so it's worth the drive to the Creedmoor road location. Details: I always use the app to order and I end up waiting for 30 minutes before I have to tell someone that I ordered online, and then they start making the smoothies. I feel like if I didn't say anything My ordered wouldn't get fulfilled at all. Extremely sloooooow. I've ordered smoothies at 11am and at 3:30pm, 5pm, random throughout the day and it's never quick. Every time we come here there's always something wrong with the order. Either the smoothies are overflowing, smoothie is dripping on the outside of the cup, or smoothies are not all the way full, or like today there was chunks of lime rind in my smoothie, like they grinded up the lime without removing the skin first. I had to sit by the trash, and spit out chunks of lime skin as I drank the smoothie. One time I ordered something without chicken, and when I got home and started eating - yup, there was chicken in it. The smoothies also never taste the same, order the same smoothie once each day for a week, it'll taste different each day. Anyway I've never eaten here when my order was exactly as ordered, it's sloppy and slow and inconsistent. Go to the one by Trader Joe's or the one on Creedmoor Rd. Skip this place. read more

Was here to grab some smoothie after getting my covid vaccine. As soon as I walked in, I wasn't greeted or anything. Okay :/ The way they set up the menu was kinda hard to see from where they take order so I kind of stepped away from the ordering area. By the time I knew what I want, they had some issue or something so I patiently waited. While they were fixing their problem, the waiting line built up. After they fixed their problem, they didn't give a glance at us (who were there the earliest) and took the order of people that came after us. NEW ON THE BLOCK!!!! One of my all time favorite cafés for a good healthy lunch and delicious smoothie. But what makes me excited about this review is that this is a new location that just opened up closer to where I reside. Which is in great both walking and biking distances. The new Falls of Neuse location has all the great qualities you've come to expect from Tropical Smoothie, it's clean (inside/outside dining areas), the work station where the food is prepared is clean and organized. The service is awesome, where you're greeted with a "welcome to Tropical Smoothie!" along with a smile. The complete staff although new are polite and attentive. The food of course is fresh and delicious, my wraps have always been prepared perfectly. Meaning the wrap doesn't fall apart while you're eating it. The overall experience here is just super great... for example the first day they opened we went in for lunch and while they had an awesome turn out there was ample space in the dining area that you didn't feel as if other patrons were on top of you. Also the wait for our order was petty fast, in spite of how busy the they were, but what really solidified it for me was that part of my order was for bottled water. As I stated they'd just opened that day of our visit, so they were waiting on additional inventory bottled water to be exact. The manager Angela, came to me to let me know they didn't have any bottled water at the immediate moment but offered me here personal bottle she had brought from home. That's the kind of customer service that creates loyal customers, which they now have in me. I have been at this location 2 to 3 times a week off and on since they opened Like most places at lunch its busy and stressful for all parties. We all know at lunch hour it's going to be hard on everyone. That's never been an issue and I usually just use the app and pre order. Saturday I used the app to order 2 smoothie and I always have gotten a Detox Island Green. Before this location I used others for over 4 years and it's always a Detox Island Green. When I got there it was crowded like any other lunchtime but having ordered ahead I thought I would be good. Well somehow it didn't make it to the person making the soothie and she seemed to be having a bad day. I waited like everyone else and finally after I got them I noticed mine didn't look right so I tasted it and it was way to sweet. I believe it was an Island Green and when I question the taste the young lady that made it said she added ginger. Just because you add ginger doesn't make it a Detox. This may all seem trivial but I am type 1 diabetic and I thought she would try to correct it but she walked-away and made 4 other smoothies without trying to help me further. I left there and threw it away but did take a picture of the initial written on the side that clearly show IG Island Green. Could care less about the 5 or 6 $ it was the attitude and lack of willingness-to try and make it right I will contact corporate and I will drive 5 miles out of my way just so I don't get attitude and a location that cares about there customers read more

They see my little brother in a short sleeved shirt and tell us they will not serve us unless we stand outside (coldest day of the year, actively sleeting) because we did not have masks. So I ordered online today as my mom is sick, in remission. I found Tropical Smoothie in South Carolina when i was in college, and was thrilled when this location was placed so close to home. She has been in the house for months due to a compromised immune system and is also the process of having multiple scans and tests to see what is going on. Regardless of this, My mom and I always chose to grab these smoothies because they are yummy, and this store never disappoints! I placed my order online for the first rime, and went in to "social distance" grab my smoothie. When i went in the store, I walked into a situation that was wrong. I witnessed an encounter from a white woman who works there who was harassing, arguing, and making a scene to a nice, sweet, and quiet African American girl who also works there telling her to be quiet and "don't talk about this at work". It seemed that she was the manager, from the way she was demanding her Silence about the issues going on the world today. This lady was rolling her eyes, yelling, and telling other WHITE workers who are supporting her to be quiet too. I was so beyond shocked my jaw was actually to the ground. The girl who was being silenced giggled because my facial expression was so genuine due to how shocked I was. She was laughing relief that good prevails. I told this girl that thankfully i ordered online, because if not i was going to say forget the smoothie here's the cash tip for YOU. You deserve way more than this BS and I told her also that to keep on praying, and I stand with you. I didn't know what else to do. But i do know that Now is not the time to be silent, and now is the time to have these conversations if we want to see any change. I left the store so shocked and called my mom explaining what happened. I called the store back, asking for names and to speak personally with this young girl again because I know that there has to be some way that I can do more than just tell her I stand with you. Turns out- the manager came to the store moments after. The lady causing a scene, wasn't the manager she was another WORKER. Same position. this LADY who was silencing and bullying this girl, and the others supporting her, has no right to tell them to be quiet. Maybe SHE should be quiet and keep her racist ideology to herself. She does not have ANY of the values that tropical smoothie possesses. Even bigger shocker- after I told the real manager my frustrations, the African American girl who handled this situation so gracefully, was the OWNER/MANAGERS DAUGHTER. Wow. Just WOW. Thankfully, i spoke to her mom directly and told her what was going on, that i stand by them, and do not support that racist woman working there. Needless to say, I'm sure she does not have the PRIVILEGE of working there, as she does not deserve it. She does not have ANY of the values that tropical smoothie stands by. My mom has been an entrepreneur her whole life. I have also had the privilege to work under my mom, And I understand how it can awkward sometimes speaking up for yourself, especially when owners have to be diplomatic in those settings. With me being new at the time i need explanation on everything and they knew their stuff!! All while training a new employee. This location staff has patience and smiles!!
