Update: The family wanted TS again, I didn't. But I trudged up there anyway. Decided to take a chance and speak with the manager and tell her what happened. I didn't have a receipt obviously but I did show her my call log from my 10+ times trying to reach someone. She remade my bowl quickly and pleasantly. I'm glad I didn't have to jump through a million hoops. The bowl was good and safe for me to eat due to her not including the coconut. She made my day so I had to come back and update my review. I have an allergy to one of the ingredients in their product so when I ordered I asked for it to not be placed on the bowl. Pulled up to the window and when I was handed the order I confirmed that they did NOT include it. She said yes. I get all the way home and surprise, surprise there it is in my damn bowl. I called them like 10+ times to let them know and to ask if I could come back the next day, I'd even bring back the entire bowl as proof since of course I can't eat it. . These people never, ever answer the phone. I called over ten times. All that to say, don't trust them if you have food allergies and don't try to call and get assistance either. DONT GO HERE. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS ! There was a gnat inside of the lid in my drink. I brought the drink inside and spoke to Rita, she told me she was the owner and also told me that there is no possible way a bug could have gotten into my drink from her store- that they spray for bugs. Now keep in mind there is fruit out in the open EVRYWHERE. She also stated that it would be unfair for her to replace the drink because once it leaves the restaurant it could get a bug in it from anywhere. I did not ask for a refund I simply asked for a new drink. This was extremely poor customer service. Like I explained to Rita, I have no reason to put a bug in my drink or blame Tropical Smoothie if there was a chance the bug came from me. How would a bug get inside of the lid ?! Only giving 1 star since I have to give a star! We all have issues with this store!!! It's not clean, few rude employees and bitch of an owner! Tonight I had to go because I was asked to get it for someone. On Facebook and maps, it states they are open til 9, I was in line for 15 minutes in drive thru and when I went to do my order the girl said they were turning the oven off so they could close, I said it's 7:50, she stated they close at 8, ok, five but you still have 10 minutes til you close, so finally she took my order. After I pulled up and paid, they took another 10-15 minutes and shut the light out and I honked my horn and the white girl with long stringy mousy hair in a ponytail and black girl with same stringy hair actually argued with me and then the taller chunky black girl who cooked started yelling. And then they all 3 were going off at once, it was harassment! Then, as I was rolling my window up, the cook said we spit in your food n drink! Wtf!!!! You all want a fkn lawsuit???? At first time I went there. Excellent Thai salad and right amount of Thai dressing. Before that, by delivery, shrimp Carole salad yummy. But today, I treated my son smoothie and warp and myself Thai Chicken salad to go. Dressing cup was filled by 1/4, not filled up. Salad was cutting great but they put the stem scraps into the salad :( My son's smoothie was bland almost like watery. For this time, I rated one star. Central Arkansas' slowest TSC location! Prepare to spend half of your lunch break here, even if you are the 2nd person in line. Going to the Rodney Parham location might be faster, even if you live closer to this location. To make matters worse, they don't participate in local online ordering using the app so you can't order ahead! You just have to sit there and wait... and wait... and wait. Customer service is subpar. They don't blend the smoothies well. They still are chunky, hard to suck through a straw. Save yourself some mid-day irritation and go to a different location. The Maumelle location does not accept coupons. Which leads me to wonder why in the hell they even bothered mailing them to people in central Arkansas. Most of the franchises around here are owned by the same person. So apparently, he/she feels that their food is soooo much better than the other TSC franchises that loyal customers such as myself don't deserve any special offers. Honestly starting to question whether or not I will continue to frequent this place. The food is fine, and healthier than other fast food. But it is absurd to not accept coupons. I'm pretty angry about it, and now have a much lower opinion of the local franchises than I did prior to learning about this petty policy. Clearly the owner doesn't mind pissing people off. Was headed to grab a smoothie as usual after my workout, didn't think I would make it before closing but luckily I made it right at 8:54. Open sign was on and sign said they closed at 9. I understand they were closing in 6 minutes but the smoothie I usually get takes literally maybe 2 minutes to make. Also, in the middle of a pandemic I would think that any business would help, guess not. The girl working very skillfully ignored us. We waited until 9pm rolled around, and noticed a car behind us pulled up. So we pulled around and hear the girl come on the speaker "sorry but we are closed" but the whole 6 minutes we waited there she didn't want to say anything!! The worker deceitfully waited until 9pm so she could conveniently tell us they were closed. When I brought this up to her, she was very rude. Told us she didn't care and wasn't her problem. Asked for GMs number and she refused. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, if I go there again and she is working, I will go else where. I have eaten here once before, and the food was good. I work across the street once a week, so it is someplace I can go quickly when I'm working alone. I will never order from here again. I was trying to place a to go order. The phone was answered after nine rings with "Tropical Smoothie Maumelle" by a person who is obviously suffering from mononucleosis or some other form of severe exhaustion. As I was asking about a coupon, I was passed mid-sentence to another person with the "I don't give a crap" affliction. I have a coupon from the local paper, and was told they do not take coupons. Ive been here 6 or 7 times and tried a new flavor of smoothie each time. About half were just bland tasting. Theres really no excuse for a $5 drink not to be good, especially if it doesnt have alcohol in it. Seriously though I used to live off Rodney Parham and would go to that location occasionally and it was always good. I have to echo all the other reviews in here about this location. I love tropical smoothie but hate this location! Owner is not nice. High turnover. Slow service, likely due to the high turnover, smoothies not quite right, I think they skimp on the ingredients. All in all I have tried several time here since it is close to work but after yesterday I am done. I will stick to other locations that are nice, clean, tasty and honor the National ap/coupons. I get that it's a tough business but don't run off the customers that will make it successful. read more

I work across the street from this location so I eat here often. The food, smoothies and staff have always been good to me but the other day the girls went above and beyond. While I was waiting for my smoothie I had a customer pull up to my store so I had to leave without my order. I told them to just put it in the fridge and I'd come back for it and then I left. Net thing I know, one of the girls is walking in the front door of the store I work at with my smoothie. Above and beyond service and I really appreciate it. Customers beware! Terrible location. Staff was playing on their cell phones while we waited 25 minutes in the drive through. We were given Our smoothies first and then had to wait about 15 minutes for our food. By the time we got home, our smoothies were starting to melt. My kid's quesadilla was burnt, and my flatbread sandwich had about five, one inch cubes of chicken in it. We called the restaurant to complain, and the on staff supervisor was no help. They told us to call the manager, who is also the owner, and she was no help. She told us to bring the food back because she wanted to see it. We took pictures of both the clock when we left the restaurant and of the food when we got home. She did not believe us and did not want to see the pictures. She wanted to check her own video cameras. We asked her if we could view the video tape with her, and she said no. She told us our quesadilla was not burnt. She told me my sandwich was standardized and what did I expect for a $5.49 flatbread? She even argued with us about where we live. We live approximately 4 miles away, but she insisted that we lived in a city 25 miles away because that is the city that showed up on her cell phone when we called her. I can't believe she argued with us over where we live because I think I know where I live better than she does! She couldn't even refund the total amount back to my credit card; she had to pay out the difference in change-that's right, I said change-from the cash register. When we told her we would not be back, she did not care. We attempted to notify the corporate office in Atlanta, Georgia and have not heard a response. Therefore we will not be avoiding just this location, we will be avoiding all locations. Too many options and I have too much disposable income to waste on garbage food and garbage service. Zero stars is all this TSC deserves. They are ALWAYS slow and often inconsistent. Today, I ordered a Jamaican jerk wrap. When I received it, it certainly wasn't worth the $7 you pay for it. When I took it back inside and asked for them to either add more to it or remake it, the supposed manager absolutely refused to fix it or give me my money back. She then preceded to argue with me in front of the entire store. She needs to participate in the next training on customer service. If I could choose 0 stars, I would! In short, we were never greeted, service was slow (we were the only customers), both of our wraps were wrong. When we went back in to get them corrected - we were told we were liars, the old white lady made me get the spat out piece of chicken from outside to PROVE to her there was chicken on my wrap (even tho I ordered it with no chicken), we were yelled at, cussed at, threatened, had a group of out of control young women screaming and cussing at me with their fingers in my face telling me "bye bitch, bye botch...". This is the worse Tropical Smoothie I have ever visited and was the worst I have ever been treated by a restaurant worker. This location should just be shut down. This location isn't a very good Tropical Smoothie. One of their managers, Morgan, goes above and beyond to provide customer service. She is by far the best worker they have. She is one of the only assets. They have no consistency on smoothies or sandwiches. The Boss, Rita Clark, treats every customer as if they are trying to get something for free. She is rude and will argue with a customer. She's one of those my way or the highway types. She doesn't treat her employees well, and that reflects in the product and how the store is run. The owner of this business is horrid. She doesn't accept coupons and she also doesn't keep gift cards in stock because she doesn't want customers to use them at her store because it chargers her a few cents every time a customer does so. I worked at this location for about 3 days. The owner would yell at me and get really annoyed and frustrated everytime I messed up-granted I was new, so I did mess up a little, that's to be expected. But it wasn't never anything major. I finally had my last straw one day when I was taking an order at the counter and the customer bragged to the owner that I did a good job taking his order. The owner proceeded to tell the customer, and I quote "Good, because I was going to take her out in the back and kill her if she didn't." Needles to say I was mortified. The customer looked at both of us like we were crazy. After that comment I didn't return to work. She was the worst owner/manager I have ever worked for. I rarely shop at this location for that reason but I live in Maumelle so it's hard to avoid sometimes. It seems like all of the employees there are rude, every time I go there. This was my 3rd visit to Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Maumelle Blvd. and will be my last. I live in Maumelle and received coupons of which this location will not honor. Since I was there, I decided to get the smoothie and food anyway. I ordered the noodle bowl of which I have had before from the Breckenridge location. To my surprise it was served in small weird container and looked nothing like what I was suppose to get. Some of the ingredients were cooked to mush and unappetizing. I usually go to the one in Breckenridge Village since it is close to my employment and the food is fresh and service is fabulous and btw, accept all coupons. So very disappointed , I have gone to this TS for many years, sometimes a couple times a week. I order the same thing every time, today I placed my order and the guy (I have never seen there before) told me the price and it was more then it has ever been. When I pulled up to the window I asked him about that, he stated, that was the cost. I advised I have never paid that high of a price, and asked him to ask the lady in the back, she has taken my order many, many times. He stated, " Oh the old lady in the back, that is the owners mother, she has been ringing it up wrong." WOW... I adv. that the owner rang up that price to. He was very rude about it. I advised I would talk with the owner and he said, "fine." Never have I ever.. when I found chunks of plastic in my drink, I decided to give them a second chance. Well now I am done. I think the owner must skimp on ingredients. Their smoothies are very bland tasting. I've had smoothies at 3 other TSC locations and they are great. I've come back to the Maumelle location multiple times because it is close to my work but each and every time the smoothies are not good. They also do not accept gift cards nor do they accept coupons. Coupons I can sort of understand but gift cards?!! Really? Drive thru is always slow but guess what? So is standing in line inside their store. I ordered the Jerk Chicken wrap. It is supposed to have asparagus on it but when I brought it all the way back to my office to eat. It didn't have the asparagus in it. I called the store and was told by a male employee that the owner doesn't like asparagus....that's absolutely unacceptable.
