I stopped in for Sunday brunch at Hillcrest Little Bakery with a dining companion who was visiting…read morefor the first time. I've personally worked my way through most of the menu over time, so I was excited for them to try it. It was around 9am so it was still fairly quiet and calm. Believe me it gets busy!! We started with orange juice and a Sunrise Matcha while we looked over the menu and caught up. The service was excellent (always) attentive, friendly, and relaxed, which made it easy to take our time. My companion ordered the B Street Bowl (potatoes, smoked brisket, onions, and peppers) with the queso served on the side and eggs cooked to order(fried hard). I ordered The Chenal which is their seasoned grilled shrimp with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes over cheesy grits. I added an over-medium egg and a side of hollandaise. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly satisfying. The portions were huge, and we each ended up taking a to-go box home for a mini meal later. It's the kind of brunch spot where you can sip your drink, take your time, and leave very full. Tip: If you order the B Street Bowl, getting the queso on the side lets you control the richness. Everything is amazing here. If you're a newbie, you can't go wrong with a Benedict!

Wandered in here about a week ago, based upon the reviews from yelp and why did it NOT disappoint!…read more Super cute little place located about a block off the main drag, it's in a converted house that is decorated tastefully and kept immaculately clean. It was lunchtime, and even though I thought I wanted something sweet like French toast the brisket wrap caught my eye, and I decided to give that a try instead. Meanwhile, the nice lady sitting next to me received her bananas, foster pancakes, and I immediately started kicking myself for not going that route. Her bananas were beautifully caramelized with quite a bit of sauce, topping the pancakes, and it looked heavenly. According to her, it was heavenly. Moments later, my brisket wrap arrived with the tiniest little container of a garlic aïoli, which was clearly homemade. The rap itself was jampacked full of succulent, perfectly cooked beef, but when you put a little bit of that aïoli on there, it really stepped its game up and shined! I left completely stuffed in a very happy camper and you will too. Enjoy!

Their menu offers vegetarian, vegan, and meat-based menu items with simple ingredients that taste wonderful but also don't lead to heartburn or other regrets post-eating. My favorite thing to get is their Ranch Bird (current incarnation of their Hen House breakfast sandwich). They also have wonderful smoothies!

It's not, I learned, but studying the menu at City Silo you'd not be wrong to consider that, perhaps, there might be some buried in your food or green drink. The names given to menu items here are all playful riffs on the names given to THC and CBD products elsewhere in the country. Aside from the monikers, the menu here is a fever-dream of wonderfully healthful-sounding offerings and the physical space in which to enjoy it all is seriously perfection. It's immaculate and well-designed and just a charming place in which to spend an hour or two. Between two of us, a "Green Light Go" drink ($10.50 for a small), a "Super Classy" acai bowl ($13), and a "Kind Veggie Burrito" ($11) were consumed and we left feeling that this place practiced what they preached: clean eating, that makes you feel good about what you've consumed but also that you enjoyed consuming. My acai bowl was packed with so much good stuff (greek yogurt, almond butter, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, cashews, roasted pepitas, hemp seeds, cacao nibs, bee pollen, granola, and honey) that I wasn't even certain where the acai was. With an additional two outposts in Tennessee I can happily say that City Silo + Pantry would fit in perfectly in Northern California, perhaps in my neighborhood, where I'd be quite pleased to welcome them.

Excellent food in a cute building on a Sunday Afternoon... what more could you want?…read more I won't lie, Sundays are REALLY busy at this place and we waited on the waitlist for not a short amount of time. But the food here is always worth it. I love the french toast biscuit sandwich. My mom had the shrimp scramble, my friend had the Winchester. They both understood the hype. The portions of food are pretty good. We also had beignets to start and they were yummy!!! If you can be a little patience and don't mind parking in a precarious spot (parking extremely limited around here) then you should definitely go!

5 out of 5 -- A Perfect Start to the Day at The Buttered Biscuit…read more If you're looking for the ideal brunch spot in Little Rock, look no further than The Buttered Biscuit. Our server, Day, started our morning with a genuine ray of sunshine--warm, cheerful, and attentive without hovering. She set the tone for what turned out to be a fantastic meal. The coffee arrived piping hot, just the way it should be. My pancake was wonderfully sweet with a hint of vanilla, and the scrambled eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly--simple, classic, and done right. Terri ordered one of the spicier dishes and declared it "delicious" before finishing every bite. The wait was minimal, even during a busy time, and the atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. The acoustics were okay--you can chat easily without shouting, or just enjoy people-watching if that's your thing. We left full, and happy. Highly recommended.
