This location is pretty good. It's usually empty when you go, they just still always seem like they're rushing. Staff is usually friendly as well, and the place is clean. My MAIN take away is that they should put your smoothie or açaí bowl in a fridge for pick up orders until you arrive. I HATE picking up my açaí bowls and they're just sitting on the shelf melting. Really hood smoothies AND food. I love the wraps and quesadillas. It's super easy to order on the website or the app and pick up about 10 minutes later. I think this place is somewhat of a hidden gem, just because so many people don't know about it and have never been there. When I found out that there was a location in my neck of the woods, I was prepared to do a couple of back flips... unfortunately, I'm not as talented as Gabby Douglas (lol)! Nonetheless, I was SUPER excited! Every time I've visited, I've been greeted and didn't have to wait for anyone to take my order. The seating area is clean, so you're not having to check for a clear place to sit should you decide to dine in. The customer service is fairly consistent... not overly excited, but pleasant enough to hold small talk while taking the order. Customer service hasn't been an issue for me with this location. However, I've noticed that there is very little consistency when it comes to how the wraps are prepared. When I've visited in the evening, I've received a sloppy wrap that had more sauce on it than any other ingredients. But when I've visited during the day, I received a wrap that was well prepared with a good portion of chicken. My hope is that there will be some consistency in the wraps (as my smoothies have always been top-notch) since a wrap will average around $8. For that price, I would like to have more than a saucy tortilla. Since this location is fairly new, I'm sure things will improve over time. Finally a smoothie spot in my neck of the woods. I try to get over here a few times a week when I'm not making my own. I've always been a fan of the island green which they offer with or without turbinado. Lately, I've been getting the Chia Banana boost and I am really loving that. On Tuesday's they have a special with any smoothie and a sandwich for $7. I tried the Chicken pesto which was just ok, so I think I will stick to the smoothies for now. Love Tropical Smoothies. Like that you can customize them by adding supplements and you get a lot for your $$. Have visited this location multiple times. Bahama Mama, Mango Berry Cosmo, Avocolada, Blueberry Bliss, Jetty Punch and recently tried the quesadillas and flat breads (very generous portions). So mostly happy, but a couple of inconsistencies. Ordered the Watermelon Mojito and first time was fantastic. Second time, it was not good and seemed to be missing an ingredient. Third time, taste was good, but about midway of drinking, found a piece of styrofoam floating in it. The foam was not from the cup but probably broke off from another cup that maybe was in the stack. My husband and I were enjoying our lunch right next door at "Blaze Pizza" when we noticed a lot of people going into this establishment. I am a HUGE fan of smoothies, so we were down to pop on by and see what they were all about. It's a super CLEAN and super NEAT little spot to go to. It reminds me of the local "hip" joints that are all around LA, California. The guy taking our order was very friendly and patient with us. Reading the MASSIVE menu on the wall can be quite overwhelming for those who have never been there before. I ordered the "Mocha" smoothie and my husband ordered the "Beach Bum" smoothie. This place is a hit or miss. Sometimes I come in and I get what I need, my order is right and I keep it moving. Other times, (which is more often than I'd like) I go in and something is wrong. 1. Last week I went to get a smoothie for my daughter at like 3ish PM and they were closed. Heh? 2. Went in for my usual Pomegranate Plunge. I always get this with half the sugar and the spinach kale pack. The young brown dude with the tight haircut told me they didn't have kale. We're looking at each other and after a few seconds I'm like so can I have all spinach? Why I gotta come up with the solution as the customer??? 3. Another time I go in for my usual and they forget the spinach kale pack. I had to remind them. 4. Typically my smoothie is not green enough after getting the spinach kale pack. How do I know? When I go to other locations asking for the same thing, it's pretty dark green. Not at this location. I feel like they're stiffing me and not honoring my request for half sugar cause it's too sugary still. 5. After a long time of not having a sandwich, I get the Super Green Caesar wrap, my lettuce is mad wilted and there's barely any in there. It's more like chicken and sauce with one tomato. 6. I get the Cali club wrap joint and not only is it mad salty but after paying for my order I turn around and see they don't have any other flavor chips except plain Baked lays and plain kettle cooked. Uuuuuh stock up much??? Why do I keep going back? Cause they're literally right down the street from my daughters school and practically around the corner from my crib. But please believe we will be moving soon and I'll be off maternity leave in a few months heading back to work which means I'll wait to traipse my ass over to the TSC by my job. There was a man there that seemed to be new because he wouldn't make eye contact with me and I had no idea he was ready to take my order. He just stood there playing with the screen and then his coworker came up and asked did he take my order....of course you didn't take my order. I may have just had the WORST customer service experience of my life! I ordered 2 wrap and smoothie combinations from Tropical Smoothie Cafe with free delivery, through the Tropical Smoothie Cafe app. The delivery driver came and brought ONLY our smoothies. I told him it was missing the wraps and sides, and he told me the only thing in the order was our smoothies and to call the store. I called, and the girl told me that the Door Dash driver left with only half our order and that she tried to call him back in but he was already gone. I asked her what to do, and she said I needed to "Call the driver and have him come back." ... Excuse me, what? I asked her how I was supposed to do that, and she said to look in the Door Dash app "where I ordered" and I again explained to her that I'd ordered directly through the Tropical Smoothie Cafe app. She said, "Well we don't have drivers" and again kept telling me to "call my driver and have him come back." I asked her how on earth I would know my delivery driver's phone number and explained that the order confirmation email literally says to call her store for delivery issues and lists their phone number. I asked to talk to her manager, and she told me he wouldn't be in until tomorrow. When she told me for a third time to "call my delivery driver and to stop being rude to her," I lost it and told her to stop saying stupid things!!! At that point she hung up on me. She never offered me any solution, nor did she offer a refund. My husband is in COVID quarantine, which means we are too, my baby is screaming, I'm hungry and crying, and I want the food I paid for!!! I called DoorDash, and the gentleman was very understanding and told me he'd take care of it and asked for the restaurant phone number. He said that he'd call them and call me back, but it's been almost an hour. I'm now on hold with another DoorDash rep who explained that they can't issue a refund since it was placed directly through Tropical Smoothie Cafe. read more

I was in the mood for a good smoothie or shake for dinner. So I started walking from my hotel and kept walking for about 30 minutes before I found this place. All I can say is the customer service was great. The hostess gave me tips on a good smoothie called the health nut all I had to do is add some peanut butter in it. If you come here be sure to be overwhelm with the warmest smiles that I have seen on my short time being here in Charlotte. They also offer military discounts. As soon as I walked in, multiple customers in front of me were already complaining about the how rude the employees were. I should've taken that as a sign to leave instead of wasting my time. He was so cool calm and collected under the pressure. Another employee came in about 30 minutes after I'd been waiting for my online order and started working on the food. There is plenty of room for seating and the ordering process is super easy especially if you download the application. Since it is the grand opening there is a lot going on, my strawberry limeade tasted a little different than normal (hence the four star rating) but it wasn't bad and the service was fairly quick. Great chain smoothie restaurant with same menu you'll recognize from other Tropical Smoothie Cafes. If you're a bit health conscious like me, be sure to ask for NO SUGAR in your smoothie! With the fruit in each one, you truly won't miss it, (and it's better for you!). I stopped in today around 2pm to grab a salad and smoothie with a coupon I got in the mail. The place was packed, and it took over 20 minutes for my smoothie to be prepared. My salad was ready in 7 minutes... Not good! It's a new spot so I'm sure they're still sorting out the kinks. One thing to note, do not stand close to the bar around the smoothie blenders. I saw one employee squirting sugar syrup into a blender and it splashed all over a woman's blouse. She was annoyed and the employee didn't say anything to her... 2nd bad sign! I'd recommend some divider boards between customers and food prep. read more

I know this place is fairly new which makes me want to give them a little bit of a pass, but if you want to survive in the food business you need to make a good impact from the start to keep customers coming back. We came to Tropical Smoothie because my brother loved the one he frequented in Florida. We ordered the Big Kahuna meal for our little one with the Turkey Cheddar & whatever the name of the strawberry/banana smoothie is, the Americana breakfast wrap, the Super Green Cesar wrap, the Hummus wrap and the Hummus wrap unwrapped as a salad, and lastly the Beach Bum smoothie with white chocolate. The first two ingredients in the Hummus Wrap are hummus and smashed avocado--neither the wrap nor the salad had either one...I'm not sure how this is possible, but it happened. The Beach Bum smoothie had decent flavor, but a weird texture (grainy and chunks of ice). The Super Green Cesar wrap tasted fine, but wasn't anything out of this world for $8. The breakfast wrap is smaller than their standard wrap, but I asked beforehand if it was since the price reflects that--no issue there. Also the kids "meal" was fine except that the cup of fruit had the apple stem and piece of core in it. Our order was to-go and they called my name and handed me the bag. I took a quick peek and noticed the kid's food was not in there and mentioned it when the guy returned with a fork. The response was oh yeah that is coming up in a minute. Fine, but if I was in a hurry I would have probably left with my bag after they handed it to me. Lastly, my husband noticed that all the containers are open and the food was being cross contaminated every time they took a scoop of something; it would drip into the other container as they took the scoop of food. The employees also did not have any gloves or hair nets on, which I believe is fairly standard when handling food. Picked up a to-go order and it seemed like it took forever to get my order. It was around 7pm on a weeknight and the place wasn't crowded so I'm not sure why it took so long to prepare. I ordered the Island Chicken Quesadilla and my boyfriend ordered the Cuban sandwich. The flavors in the quesadilla was good but could have used more spice. I was surprised to find that there barely any chicken in it. It was cut into 4 slices and I opened each slice to find 2 or 3 chicken small chicken dices in each piece. Considering that it cost nearly $6, I expected more. My boyfriend said that his Cuban sandwich was ok and nothing really special. I walked in and waited an additional 15 minutes and my smoothie came out, but sandwich never did.
