Snowball/Snowcone
Raven A.

This is probably the 2nd place I found in houston that has snowballs that remind me of being back home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The flavor was so sweet and yummy. It was soaked in juice. The ice was so soft! Prices are great. Service is solid. We pulled up right before close (I hate doing that) and they still served us. It's ducked off in a neighborhood. We didn't have issues parking in the street. There is enough seating at well. It's outside and in a neighborhood so I don't have much to say about the ambiance, but i definitely want to go back to the try the food!

Houston's hidden gem! They offer so many selections whether you want food or a sno-ball.

The building and setup

This place is such a vibe There's SO many flavors to choose from and even more options of food and snacks as well. My boyfriend and I went to get something to cool us off in this 100° today and ended up getting two burger combos and two snow cones..then came BACK for more cones that evening. I never do this. The burgers were cooked perfect and full of flavor and tender. The prices also are so affordable: these in the picture were only $4! Other snow cone places are half the size and like $5-8. I'll absolutely be back and will tell everyone about this spot

The first time I sat at the bar for service, Allie was our server and she was beyond amazing. Helpful, explained the menu and specials, and made us feel really comfortable. The second time I came two weeks ago, we just ordered at the front and dined in regular. I ordered a pacific blue tuna melt. The girl with no hair who works in the kitchen has made my sandwich the last few times I've been to this locations I would rate them 0/10. I would honestly never come back to this location if I wasn't a forgiving person. Honestly I wouldn't be back to this location if Allie wouldn't have saved the day. My sandwich came out with little to no tuna on it. It was actually quite surprising for Chewbacca Hut. But the lady who made my sandwich gave me a little smirk before handing me my sandwich, and I knew something was wrong. If I could rate this location on food, and kitchen employees it would be o1 star. But thankfully you have employees like Allie. She saw me taking pictures of my sandwich and in literal disbelief of how little there was on the sandwich she immediately came to ask me if everything was right, she fully agreed the sandwich didn't look right and immediately brought me an extra portion of tuna to add. Without her, I would've completely roasted this entire establishment specifically the kitchen.

Southern Jerks - Southern Jerks Crispy Fried Chicken

We ordered the wings and chicken tenders. The jerk flavor was exactly what we wanted. It was a nice change from the usual southern fried chicken flavors. There's lots of spice with so much flavor. Even my picky eaters loved it! There's a cash and credit card option for payments. I love that we can save a few bucks by paying cash. The cashier was nice and welcoming. We plan to be back!

Located inside a gas station, so it's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Luckily, there wasn't much of a line when I visited. The staff was friendly and polite. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. One thing I didn't realize beforehand is that they specialize in chicken wings and chicken strips rather than offering a full range of fried chicken pieces. They do have a few non-chicken items, though. I'll definitely be back to try the jerk burger. The chicken itself was hot, crispy, juicy, and well seasoned. Their dry seasoning has a unique flavor, but I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, my order was missing the dipping sauces, so I can only judge the chicken on its own. It honestly doesn't need sauce, but I'm on a lemon pepper quest and was reaaaallllly looking forward to trying the jerk lemon pepper. The mac and cheese was probably the best I tried anywhere. Cheese pull and everything. Better than most sit down restaurants. I was also pleasantly surprised by the dirty rice. It's the first place I've found where the rice isn't mushy. The fries were well seasoned and came as crinkle-cut fries, which I actually preferred. I noticed that the fries shown on the menu and in some customer photos look different from what I received, so they may be experimenting with them. If so, I hope the crinkle-cut fries stay. I appreciated that they include jalapeños and rolls with the chicken orders. I ended up chatting with a few other customers, and they were there for the same reason I was: they'd seen Instagram videos calling Southern Jerks "the best chicken in Houston." That's a bold claim in a city with so many outstanding fried chicken spots. I wouldn't personally give it the top spot, but it absolutely holds its own and is well worth trying. It was fun watching the chicken being freshly fried while waiting for my order. My only real complaints were the missing sauces and the price. It's a little more expensive than I expected, especially considering the location, and you have Frenchy's, Popeyes, Timmy Chans, and a few other local spots all there competing. Overall, Southern Jerks serves flavorful chicken, excellent sides, and the best mac and cheese I've had anywhere. While I don't think it's the best fried chicken in Houston, it's definitely worth visiting to decide for yourself.

I was excited to have more food options within walking distance. Their food is on the pricier side for sandwiches, but their sourdough is really good. It's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything tastes fresh. My friends and I would walk over and grab soup and sandwiches with chips. Sometimes I'd dine in and sometimes I'd take it to go. My favorite is their Italian sandwich which comes with a pickle. I'd add a bag of Miss Vickie's jalapeño chips or potato soup. I'm a creature of habit when I find something I like, so I haven't tried other sandwiches though I do like turkey. Maybe next time. Panera still makes a better broccoli and cheese soup. The small chicken Caesar salad is loaded for a small bowl. I appreciate the large chicken pieces and toasted sourdough as croutons. It takes a while till you get your food, but you can order online in advance. People come and go during their work lunch. Service is friendly, and I haven't had any bad experiences. I will definitely be back.

This is the one and only location here and a great stop for all kinds of sandwiches. Their menu includes innovative offerings and iconic flavors, essentially the best of both worlds. If you're craving a classic or simple sandwich, you can get that. However, if you're looking for something special or out of this world, you can also get it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone. My favorites have been the Menage A Trois (halal chicken, honey mustard, BBQ Sauce, real honey, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar), Ike's Reuben (pastrami, mack Sauce, purple slaw, gouda), Joker (all beef meatballs, fried zucchini, Ike's red pesto, ranch), and Grant Pinkerton, a Houston exclusive (Pinkerton Brisket, pastrami, BBQ aioli, provolone). All of my sandwiches have been stuffed and tasty, worth it! However, I find some menu items to be subpar in quality and flavor (chicken strips). The service is typically quick, efficient, and friendly. There are more than a handful of tables inside and some out on the patio. The shared parking lot can get very crowded as it is packed with lots of other businesses.

Stuffed Belly - Belly Melt and Tater Tots

Get in my bellyyyyyyyy. If you've seen Austin Powers, you're my kind of people. I stopped by…read moreStuffed Belly for some takeout on a Wednesday half an hour before close. Located in Spring Branch, this fast casual restaurant is located in the same shopping center as quite a few solid eateries including The Blind Goat, Jinya, and Feges BBQ. In fact, Stuffed Belly is owned by Christine Ha, winner of season five of Masterchef. Parking wasn't an issue in the busy yet spacious complimentary lot around the shopping center. Ambiance (3/5): Stuffed Belly is more of a grab-and-go type spot. The reason? It's quite small. There are about five seats inside and one long picnic style seating area on the small patio. That's it. The restaurant looks nice, just tiny. Service (4.5/5): You order at the counter and they let you know when your order is ready. The ordering process was smooth and we got our food within a reasonable amount of time. While service isn't a big part of the experience, I didn't run into any issues. Drinks (N/A): I didn't order any beverages on this visit. Food (3/5): I went with the belly burger (their classic burger) and an order of the loaded tots. It was a mixed bag. I love a good smash burger, it's one of my favorite types of burgers. The ingredients are all quality. The problem? One issue is that it's a pretty small burger as you can tell from my picture. A kiddie burger of sorts. The loaded tots, on the other hand, were a generous portion. I have a weakness for loaded fries. As others have mentioned in their reviews, fries are not an option at Stuffed Belly. Tots only. I like tater tots too, but it is pretty bizarre for a burger spot to not have fries on the menu. The other issue I have is that both of my items (as well as what my mom ordered) was spicy. Take this with a grain of salt as I can only handle a little spice. Still, the menu offerings packed more of a punch than I expected. Which definitely impacted my enjoyment of the meal. If you like spicy, don't sweat it. If you don't, you're probably going to feel like I did. While Stuffed Belly underdelivered a bit for me, I did come in with high expectations. The Blind Goat is much better (though more expensive) in my book. Also keep in mind that Stuffed Belly closes pretty early on several days of the week... 8 p.m.

Look at the picture... my husband took a bite and come to find out he opened the burger with no meat....ridiculous. So pissed. So, if you order take out..be sure to check your entire order and I guess you have to open each bun too while you're at it!
