Listen, you're not gonna get luxury 5 star spa treatment but Julie and her Dominicans can do some hair! I went it for a cut and color and paid $85. I had a really bad experience at another salon on Jamaica Ave last summer and paid $200 more for a shitty job after spending 10 hours at the salon Julie got my color right and my cut right and did it in a timely manner. The only thing I wasn't satisfied with was my blow out, she used the olive oil spray and I hated it. It weighed my hair down BUT I guess I should've told her not to use it. She also didn't burn me. I was very pleased and will be back to do my roots :)

It does cost more than any other salon I've been to but this salon also produces the best final result. They have always been friendly to me and ask me do I prefer 2 or 3 washes. It is now a week past my last visit to the shop and my hair is still fabulous. My only gripe is that this place is in Harlem and I cant find anywhere closer to my NJ residence or BK job :-(

Stephanie, who is the owner, explained the different types of services they provide. She even showed me how her own were done. I was surprised she had hair extensions! I opted to do it the way she had hers done. Luckily, I had brought my clip on hair pieces to show them. They were good quality pieces so they used them for my extensions. The process took about 2 hours and the price was reasonable. Hugo (the hairdresser assigned to me) did such a fantastic job. I was a little uncomfortable holding my head down for so long, but it's part of the process, right? They do offer you something to drink while you are sitting there. I did wish I had a straw because it was hard to drink with my head bent forward. Afterward it took Hugo another 20 minutes to style my hair. That ended up costing me additional which I was not expecting as I was told that he was just doing finishing touches. Because of the additional expense, I didn't have enough for tip. It was a bit awkward for me. I really wish I had somewhere to go that night because I looked really great!!!! I will be coming back to see Stephanie and Hugo for hair maintenance. Next time I will be clear about exactly what I'm paying for so I won't feel embarrassed not having enough to give gratuity. Pay in cash. You will save more.
