Blowout III - 10/10 Experience Blowout III is hands down one of the best salon experiences I've had. The entire team is incredibly friendly, welcoming, helpful, and professional. A huge thank you to May and the rest of the team, who took my hair from JET black to the most gorgeous burgundy-ish red. From the moment I sat in the chair until the moment I left, I felt completely taken care of. At one point I wasn't 100% sure which shade of red I wanted. Instead of rushing the decision, they suggested mixing two different reds to create the perfect tone--and the result was absolutely stunning. It's rich, vibrant, and exactly what I was hoping for. I'm currently on my second wash, and the color is still vibrant and beautiful. Red does naturally fade with washing, but so far it's holding really well and still looks amazing. Pro tip: They get busy (which says a lot about how good they are), so try to arrive right when they open at 10am, especially if you're getting color done. Safe to say I've officially found my forever salon. Worth every penny and I'll absolutely be referring everyone I know here. i'm a regular customer and come here often for blow-dry services. The person who washes and styles my hair is not the same person who charges me. Unfortunately, the woman at checkout (who usually wears a ponytail) has now tried three separate times to charge me more than the actual price of the service. When I questioned it during my last visit, she became upset, raised her voice, and even called me "cheap." I always tip and treat everyone with respect, so this was very disappointing. I would advise other customers to confirm the price before getting any service done. Based on my experience, the price has been changed at checkout, which is not fair. The workers are mostly nice but just make sure you like your hair or any request to fix something will not be taken well. My main issue with them is their lack of cost transparency that I've experienced many times. I went in earlier today for a wash and brush curls. I asked the stylist to pin the curls due to the rain outside. They split my hair and pinned up each side with a total of 4 Bobby pins. When I went to pay I was charged $4 for them to "pin up" my hair. While it's not a huge expense; it was simply not expected and if there was an additional charge, I should have been informed beforehand. Make sure that when they offer to use any hot tools you decline and request brush curls or there is an upcharge. There is also an upcharge based on hair length and thickness. None of which are transparent from the beginning of your service. Honestly better off using a regular hair salon where quality products are used for similar price points. read more

I was a little iffy reading all the reviews but I had an okay experience with the price point and efficiency. I did a walk in appointment on a Saturday for long wavy hair. It came with a wash. My hair came out a bit more curled than I wanted but it was decent. I just really wish they used heat protectant spray before they started using the hair curler. I did mention it but the hair dresser kind of just shrugged it off. If I were to do it again, I would request it to be used. Overall, I was in and out in 30 minutes and charged $26. There quick for wash and blow dry if you need which is probably only reason I'd go but not taking card makes you def lose a lot of customers, it's 2025!! No ones just walking around with only cash in there pockets... define toy would have more customers coming in and less walking out if you had more payment options. I've been here a few times and service was always good. However today they were busy and I guess they gave me somebody new to do my blowout. He starts to blow out and points the dryer at my scalp and the dryer is like at a thousand degrees. I nearly jumped out of my chair. He mumbles something,walks away. He comes back I asked the manager, can I please have somebody else do my hair. Somebody else did it and he was fine. When I was paying I again spoke to the manager and I said you do realize what just happened here, he burned my head. She couldn't care less. Wouldn't make eye contact. I brought my daughter in today because she was attending her 8th grade dance .. I asked for her to be washed, blown out and curled. The quality of her hair at the end was minimal and not what I asked for. I told them this is not what I asked for or what I paid for. They had her sit back down and he took the curling iron out and fixed it a little. I had to ask for hairspray ... just really disappointed. The service and price you get depends on who you are .. you can tell they're making up a price while you're asking .. my daughter asked for curls and it was basically wavy .. another lady who got curls had amazing curls. so we complained and they redid it and came out close to what we wanted, so very iffy and not trustworthy that you will get what you want. This is an Asian run business and they don't speak or understand English well at all. The communication is a challenge that I don't care to experience again. Also, no one greets you, when you walk-in. The lady who washes your hair is so rude and unprofessional. My head was brought down in to a filthy sink to wash my hair. She used Vaseline for my back massage. I was mortified and completely grossed out! Only to be followed up with a terrible haircut, with Frankie. This place is great. Very bright and clean. I have not been able to get a haircut for almost a year and a half because of COVID. I decided to walk in and try my luck to see if there was a hairdresser available. I waited 5 minutes while a hairdresser finished with his last client. I got my hair washed, cut and blow dried for $35. My hairdresser was Jim who was super nice. This is definitely my new hair salon and I look forward to my next visit. read more

I don't know how to think about this, when I got my wash the bowl was dirty and filled with things, when I asked for my haircut I asked for short hair with curtain bangs, he gave me a Bob cut. I wasn't happy but it didn't look bad either. When I was leaving the lady who washed my hair was asking for a tip, I only came with enough for my hair cut + wash and a tip for the guy who cut my hair, the fact that she asked for it made it worse, even though my hair was still kinda cute it was NOT what I asked for, I don't know how he got a Bob cut out of shirt hair with curtain bangs definitely going to pick another hair salon next time. read more

It is a great place to get your hair washed and blown at a good price and your hair will look beautiful. But if you are interested in having a hygienic place I would not recommend this place. Yes the stylists are still wearing masks but.... They don't seem to have a sanitizer for their tools, meaning the hairbrushes, combs and scissors. It is a real shame since they do a good job at washing, cutting and blow drying but I prefer to know that I am having my hair managed with clean tools. I hardly write reviews but needed to share my experience with this place. This spot is walking distance from my home so I figured I would give it a chance. I called beforehand but was told that there were no appointments needed and to walk in. It was Saturday and I decided to make it a girls day and invited my 70 year old mother and 11 year old daughter for a treat. It was pretty crowded but the wait was not that long. My mother went first. She has very fine, short, straight hair and they had no problem with it and were pretty quick to wash and dry. My 11 year old has long curly hair and has had her hair done in many salons many times so she is used to the pulling and heat needed to straighten her hair. I initially thought that the guy styling her did not speak much English as he was not responding to me when I was talking to him. I quickly realized he was just rude and had a serious attitude problem. He seemed annoyed that her hair was long and textured and was yanking at her hair as soon as she sat down. He tried to detangle her with a drying brush and when I saw what he was doing I offered to help, thinking he may not know how to manage it. I asked if he had a wide comb but he did not have a comb at all! I asked him how he detangles hair and then just said he would do it and "it's okay." I was called off to have my own hair washed and I left my daughter in his hands. When I came back to where she was I saw that he proceeded to dry her without fully combing her out. He did not section it and was just blowing it all at once while trying to hold it with the brush. She was holding back tears but then finally broke down full on crying! I asked him to stop while I checked on what was going and she said he was pulling and breaking her hair and that he burned her scalp and ear. I told him what she was saying but he was insiting that he could finish and she was fine. I had to ask someone to intervene so he could stop and let her sit on the side to recover. They offered to have someone else finish her hair but she was in too much pain. While she sat recovering I decided to have the same guy dry my hair, so I could see his technique for myself. I have curly hair as well and noticed straight off that he did not know how to deal with it. He could not detangle my hair and did not have a comb so I asked for a minute and used my own fingers to detangle myself. He did not section my hair and went staight for the brush and dryer and used no heat protectant on my hair. As I saw the smoke coming from my hair I asked him multple times if he was going to use anything to keep my hair from actually burning off. He said it was not needed. He then picked up a flat iron and let it sizzle on my stands. I could not take it anymore and had to tell him to stop as I literally heard, saw and smelled him frying my hair. I stood up from his chair in disbelief and walked over to the counter. As I was paying (full price!) for the damage that was caused, I tried to explain the problems that I saw. The lady at the register was very nice but did not seem to understand my concerns. She explained that they style all hair types and never have a problem. They may in fact syle all hair types but this does not mean that they actually know how to do it properly as my final result looks like I put my finger in an electrical outlet and my daughter left with her hair broken and her ear and scalp burnt. Like I wrote in the beginning my mom's hair was done quickly and really no problem but she has fine, short straight hair that naturally air dries without issue. If you have any texture to your hair beware, unless you want them to fry your hair, stay away from this spot! read more

Went in twice for a men's haircut mostly because the price ($16) was in my budget plus I like supporting neighborhood businesses. The older man who cut my hair the first time clearly didn't understand what I was asking for and I didn't realize how uneven and badly cut my hair was until I got home. I decided to give them a second chance so I went back a month later and asked for someone else who did a very good job. I'm not going back because they're very rude and the shop always looks dirty. Needed to get my hair blown out for my friend's wedding. I wasn't able to get into the usual salon I go to get it done, and didn't want anything too fancy, just big hair . This place was adequate for it. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon with no appointment and it was a short wait, not bad. Did not want to have my hair washed because I just did it last night and was worried it would be too dried out. I had a male stylist who asked me how I wanted it blown out. I went here for wash and haircut. The hair washer motioned for me towards the sink and it was totally filthy with used gloves in the sink and used towel on the headrest. I said nicely, please clean the area before you wash my hair. She takes off the used towel from the headrest and then proceeds to stuff a towel down the back of my shirt at the back of my neck (no gown) she again tells me to sit down and put my hair in the sink. There are still used gloves in the sink. I think there was a major language barrier as dont think she understood me but still... jeez please clean your sinks before the next customer uses it!. Well first off I call and they say no wait I get there and it's about 30-35 minute wait but no big deal because it's walk in. Then the lady who shampooed my hair was really nice and Thorough. Went into the Salon in forest hills. For reference I have two blonde streaks on the side of my head. I got them done March 26th and haven't washed my hair until today April 5th because I didn't want to ruin my blonde hair. I wanted to wait to get my hair professionally washed again. HOWEVER, I go into the salon I get my services done (wash and blow dry), finish up and it's not until I'm done that I realize my freshly blonde streaks are now GREY!!!!! I went back and told the woman who washed my hair (I believe she may be the owner, she claims to have been doing hair for 20 years) that my hair is now grey after seeing it being styled. SHE BLAMES ME FOR NOT TELLING HER TO USE PURPLE SHAMPOO AND THT MY HAIR COLOR ALREADY LOOKED LIKE THT !!!!! I'm not a hairstylist so I figured she'd know what's best for my hair. But she literally just dismissed me saying to go back to the salon I got it dyed blonde and get it re bleached. BUT SHES THE ONE WHO MESSED UP MY HAIR IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!!! Oh and my hair is now orange also because again she didn't wash it properly. And the man who did my hair didn't do the style I wanted. I asked for BEACH WAVES. He literally just curled my hair with an iron. And left it like that. There was nothing beachy or wavy about my hair. I called in advance to inquire about availability they told me to come in right away. I let them know my hair is long (about past my shoulders) but pretty wavy and they confirmed the price with me I think it was $21 from what they said over the phone and that was also the same exact price range listed on the door. I drove there specifically, and paid for meter parking, to be in that price range. Once I got there I did not have to wait, girl washing hair did a nice job. The blow dry was not bad, a little flat, but once I got to the register they told me my blow dry was $27. Oh and they only took cash so had to pay their ATM machine fees on top of that. Very unprofessional that they would not mention a thing about this before I sat down, while washing my hair, while brushing it etc. If you are going to add on $6 then tell me beforehand, no problem. Not once everything is finished and done. And my hair did NOT take that long to do because it has a been treated with Keratin so it is already pretty smooth. But at least put that increased pricing on the door too that it can be more than the price stated. For $27, plus meter, plus the tips, plus ATM I would have just walked to Austin street which is way closer to me and got it done there at a nicer looking and more professional spot. read more
