I had just received a spray tan at the location in crystal lake location everything about my experience was wonderful and could not ask for more! Customer service was 5/5 as well as the tanning products! Coming from a very fair skinned red head I never get tan and this was my second time getting a tan. Clearly I was a little nervous and did not want to come out looking to dark but wanted just a little bit of color. Not only did the worker talk me though everything that would fit me but also took the time. As I have never been tan before the confidence levels where giving after this tan! Would recommend time after time again! The tan color was perfect and all around wonderful! I walked into Tropic Tan looking like a marshmallow and left feeling like a golden beach goddess! The customer service here is **beyond** amazing - they helped me pick out the perfect lotion (because, apparently, there's more to tanning than just lying there), explained all the bed levels like tanning scientists, and even recommended the one that would get me glowing without turning me into a lobster! Most young people at desk & one very pleasant young man were great to deal with. The manager, or perhaps owner, use the "hard sell" approach on the potential clients. Note to self: that may be the fast fix but in the long run it does not RETAIN customers. Very overpriced, including $80 bottles of tanning lotions. When a half price bottle was available & I purchased, it had no expiration date, therefore it caused a skin rash. My bad for trying to save a few dollars. And after all that, 2 weeks later, no tan. I went for a spray tan before my vacation. The man at the front had no idea what he was doing. He had to call someone else (maybe the owner?) over FaceTime to give me instructions. And while I'm on the phone with this lady, the man is just vaping away, blowing smoke right in front of me! He couldn't wait til I left the desk??? I ended up leaving, choosing not to get the tan. I stopped in because I was looking for a place to try tanning in the area. I've been tanning before but it's been awhile. The chick working (blonde) was soooo helpful and friendly. She explained all the package options and what might be best for me depending what my tanning reasons/goals are and what I'm looking to achieve. She showed me the price breakdowns and explained the bed levels. She also asked me relevant questions and helped me pick out a lotion. The rooms were cozy, more tiki like and cute. Everything seemed clean and fresh. The whole atmosphere was warm and inviting. I had a great first experience and tan. I'm looking forward to going back tomorrow. read more

Started going here for their 24 hr service...Was going to this tanning salon for two months.. didn't see any results.. told the front desk that multiple beds and the stand up had burnt out bulbs. They responded that they were ordered.. this was two months ago and still they have not been replaced. As soon as I started going to my other tanning salon there was an immediate difference in my tan. 24 hr service is nice and the price is good but definitely not worth it if I'm not seeing any results. I love Tropic Stop Tan! I have been to numerous tanning salons in my life and truly Tropic Stop is one of the best. They recently opened (took over the old E-Z Tan spot for those of you who remember) and have done great things with the place. The two girls who work the front are so nice and helpful. Their beds are clean and powerful. They have pretty good deals as well including priced packages and $10 mystics on Monday and $5 tans on Tuesday. They will even store your lotions and eye wear for you so it doesn't get cold and icky sitting in your car or purse! Definitely stop in to Tropic Stop. You won't be disappointed! read more

They have good beds for a good price & the place is always really clean. But the girls who work in the front are extremely rude and unprofessional. They don't pay nearly as much attention to their customers as they do there own selves. If it's dead and you walk in 15 mins til close they give you the rudest look. it's like they don't want the business and just want to get out of there. Sometimes they are laughing and goofing off the entire time you are speaking to them. Just very unprofessional. I will go to LA Tan any day because of this.
