I had highlights and haircut at Tropez today. The salon is beautiful, bright and clean. My first visit so I was a bit nervous as my hair is very thick and sometimes hard to work with. Everyone was very friendly and the salon has a nice calm vibe. Lexie did a beautiful job. She listened carefully, set expectations and boy, did she deliver! To start, I would rate a 0 if there were the choice. I booked an appointment with Lisa online via the salon's website. I was then contacted by the salon to confirm the time and date (10 Jan 2025 at 9 am). I arrived at the salon and checked in, giving the stylist's name and the time of the appointment. With the details given, I was told that I was checked in. Now... I'm a patient person, so it comes to 9:30 and I thought, well she's just running a bit behind. Comes close to 10 and she comes out and takes another person to her chair. I'm in total shock and look at the receptionist with a confused face. I have been going to Tropez for over 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. My previous experience with hair stylists was rough. I have very fine hair and it would often get fried. Journee and Kellie are incredibly maticulous and take care of your hair like it was their own. My hair has never been healthier. This salon uses top-notch products, clean, filtered water, and they even have snacks and wine! Haylie has been doing my color and invisible bead extensions and she is a master of her art. My hair always looks incredible. I constantly get complimented and asked where I get my hair done. The staff is always friendly and conversation is great. They treat you like family. I left the salon disappointed, very sad, and in shock because my experience the 2nd time around was so different from the first time. At the first appointment I didn't get exactly what I wanted but I left happy. At the 2nd appointment I asked for more brightness around my face, highlights to be closer to my roots, and for the brassiness to be gone. Marissa said she did not want to add any new highlights, which was fine. I later realized she probably didn't want to do that because she was triple booked. She told me she was going to lighten the highlights I already had and that it would be a mixture of cool and warm tones because she wasnt going to lighten all the highlights, which sounded fine to me. My hair turned a neon yellow with the lightening process and I didn't like how staff responded to this. Everyone was whispering around me and gasping when they opened the foils. Nobody would tell me what was happening until I asked. They just continued to whisper around me like I was invisible. I was asked multiple times by different people if I swam, was on medications or changed hair products. I was freaking out the whole appointment because I felt like I was in the dark, didn't know what was happening to my hair and didn't know where Marissa was. I paid for an appointment with Marissa to do my hair but a lot of the service was done by other people who I'm assuming are students because they were talking about scheduling their final practicum and said concerning things while working on me at the bowl such as, "I'm confused", "what do I do now", asking other people what to do next and specific instructions like how long to leave the product on for and what specific product to use. This felt unprofessional. I felt helpless because people who didn't know what they were doing were working on my hair. I also noticed my hair was falling apart, breaking to the touch at the mid section and ends and I could see hair flying off my head as Marissa was blowdrying it. The breakage wasn't addressed. I plan on going somewhere else now to get my hair cut. My appointment started at 2 and I left around 6 which is waaaaay too long. Regarding the final color Marissa was very hands off about this and said, "I can't do anything about how your hair responds to the lightening. It's cool at the ends because that's just how you responded to the lightening. I can't do anything about this". I was upset nobody addressed how badly the appointment had gone. Then she had someone else curl my hair. I paid and left in shock. The owner of the salon called me the following day, apologized and gave me a full refund. read more

Journee does my hand tied extensions and she is the best with matching my color and educating me on how to take care of them. I always enjoy my appointments here. Okay, so I usually don't give bad reviews but I feel obliged to write an honest review based on the character of an employee here. I scheduled an appointment with Kaylee to do a trim and a balaylite. I go to school Monday-Friday from 8am-2pm. Originally I asked her if I could come on a Saturday and she said the salon isn't open on Saturday's. The salon was about an hour away so I asked Kaylee if I could schedule the appointment at 3:30pm she said it was no problem and the day we were looking at was on a Tuesday. She said Tuesday's were her "late" days. So perfect, 3:30 it was! I couldn't wait, their Instagram content is fantastic and I was really excited. One day before my visit, I got a call from the salon asking if they can reschedule because Kaylee wouldn't be able to do what we had planned in such a short amount of time. I told her, we won't do the color then (even though she said it was perfectly fine previously) since that's what would be so time consuming. She said ok and I came in at 3:20 for my $50 trim. As I was sitting in Kaylees chair she had another employee call her 4:30 appointment and ask if she could come earlier because she thought she'd be done with me early. Then she turns back to me and says "Tuesdays are normally my long days but I was here till 9pm last Tuesday and I just don't want to do that again"... Did she forget that she had someone call me literally a day before to cancel my color because it would take too long?! That was very irritating, but I tried to shake it off and continued to schedule a 12 week follow up for another trim. My appointment is supposed to be on the 11th (5 days away) and I get a text, saying they have a product launch class at 4 on the day I'm supposed to come in. My thoughts on this is that my appointment was scheduled more than 2 months prior. They couldn't schedule the launch until after they're closed? They close at 5.. that's only an hour difference or maybe even schedule it for Saturday, a day that the salon is closed? Not only has she canceled a service / appointment with me twice now but she spoke poorly about previous clients while I was in the chair and her cut was mediocre to say the least. I'm still giving the salon 2 stars because I hope the other employees have better work ethic and I cannot base judgment on an entire establishment because of one person. read more

I found this salon on Instagram as one of the few that does NBR extensions in the area and absolutely loved it! I was seeing both Journee and Madeline and they always did a great job with color and blending as well as a great NBR installation. For anyone coming to the area that needs someone to keep up with their extensions, definitely recommend. read more

***EDITED REVIEW*** My initial review unfortunately turned out to be inaccurate. Luckily I have a friend who does hair from my hometown who was able to tell me what was going on when my color completely washed out of my hair after the first wash. I am new to the area and was hoping to find a good salon with honest stylists. They put a demi hair color on my hair (while wet, after a treatment to close the cuticle) when I specifically asked for a permanent color change. Obviously, I did not realize what they were doing at the time since I am not a hair stylist myself. I asked to get it fixed, they set an appointment up for me then explained when I got there that they had used a Demi in case I wanted to go back to blonde easier. I am not sure why they wouldn't explain that to me or ask me if that was ok when they did it in the first place. I agreed to give them another chance and let them fix it by using permanent color. After the stylist mixed the color she brought me to the bowl. At this point I figured she was going to apply the color there and use a mobile heater on me and just rinse it out when it was done so that I could just stay there. She turned the water on and wet my hair at which point I immediately sat up and let her know I wanted the color to be applied to my hair while dry. She then called the owner over who then explained to me that they put color on wet hair because they believe it makes for a more even appearance while hair is damaged from previous bleaching. I let her know that I spoke to my friend who is an extremely accomplished hair stylist in Las Vegas who says she would never put it on wet hair because the dry portions soak up water before the color which causes patchiness. I asked them if they would put it on my dry hair and the owner said they wouldn't be able to make me happy so she gave me a refund. I left and my friend sent me professional color to do it the right way myself since it is a simple all over application. I did and it looks beautiful and has lasted multiple washes wonderfully. It is unfortunate that this happened but I am glad that I will be saving hundreds of dollars a year by doing it myself. If you have read this far and are like me and get your hair dyed, be aware of this and make sure you are getting exactly what you pay for, or find a way to do it yourself if you can't seem to find someone who will be honest and up front about what they are doing. And DON'T resort to box dye if you do. I still believe Haley is a very sweet and talented hair stylist and works under dishonest owners of the salon and was just doing what she was told. *ORIGINAL REVIEW* I am so happy I decided to come to Tropez after being unsatisfied with my hair for the longest time with my previous stylist. Haley is AMAZING. She took me from platinum blonde (with an orange band and dark brown roots) to the most beautiful ginger red color. My hair feels so healthy and the cut she did was just SO GOOD. The stylists at this salon are extremely professional and make sure you feel welcome and comfortable the entire time. They aren't afraid to ask for second, or third opinions from one another to make sure they give you the best outcome possible, and I honestly really appreciate that, because it shows they care enough to actually get you exactly where you want to be instead of just pretending that they are going to and never really do (which has been my experience at many salons.) This is truly the first time I've left a hair salon completely happy with my hair. I will recommend this salon to all of my girlfriends. Being a military spouse we move quite often and that means finding a new place every time we move that I trust enough to do a good job on my hair. After hearing that the stars from the show "Outer Banks" got their hair cut here I decided if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me . I am super picky about my hair and I have had some pretty bad hair cuts in the past so I am always really nervous going to a new salon. Despite Covid, I had a great experience my first time at this salon. The salon is clean and cares about social distancing. I also liked that I could get an evening appointment after work. I'm especially impressed with my stylist Haylie Pack. She made me feel at ease, asked lots of questions about my hair goals, and delivered a fabulous cut that exceeded my expectations! It's been a LONG time since I loved my hair! I also really appreciated that she gave me advice about how to re-create the salon style at home, and she turned me on to new ways to care for my wavy hair that have completely changed how I care for and style my hair. I will start this off like many reviews; " if I could give zero stars I would," but let me tell you the whole story. I arrived for my hair appointment at 1:30 when I was scheduled for 2:00. I was greeted by three girls chatting away at the desk with no regard for what was going on around them. After I was eventually checked in my stylist, Maria, came and got me at around 1:45. When I called Tropez Salon, I asked for just a root touch up ( my hair is naturally a medium brown color and I am honey blonde) and I thought that it would be that difficult. But clearly it was, when I sat in her chair she was asking me about a shadow root, but I explained to her I just want a touch up. She said she doesn't work with blondes often but her fellow stylist (madeline, I think) will be able to help along the way. I should've walked out then but the placed seemed amazing so I was like why not give it a try. She sectioned my hair fine and put the bleach on, then I was brought to the bowl and had toner and the whole "Shabang" done. Yet she kept coming back and adding more who knows what, while I was sitting in this bowl for about 1 hour and 30 minutes to almost 2 HOURS. My neck was in so much pain but when she was done and brought me back to the chair. My hair looked ruined. It looked like I had a white halo around my head. I was almost in tears and I asked her if she could fix it and make it more honey blonde but she insisted that it looked pretty. As her gaslighting continued, and as I was on the verge of tears another one of her coworkers came up and insisted she could fix it. She finished my hair and added this darker yellow toner??? (Who knows) and washed and blow dried me. My neck was in pain, I was tired, and hungry and my hair looked wacky. It cost $280 for this poor job of a "root touch up," and I spent a total of about 5 HOURS here. Checked in at 1:30 left at around 6:10. Be cautious of coming here, it seems like a bunch of girls fresh out of cosmetology school that don't know how to run a business nor do hair. Please find somewhere more experienced cause now I have to spend more to even fix it. read more

My experience with this salon has been an absolute nightmare. I had extensions installed in June by Haylie. She installed too many wefts and ruined my hair. At my first move up, color was not washed thoroughly and sat in the wefts for 10 weeks. I ended up with chemical burn on my scalp. They also cut their hand tied wefts and glued them at the ends. This causes them to unravel. 1 of the wefts they used wasn't even hand tied! I gave them plenty of opportunity to work this out. I also had a consult with the owner of a salon in Jacksonville. She had extensions installed by Haylie and they lied about the type of extensions they installed. They were also installed incorrectly. Now that I am being ignored, I know they only care about money. $2600 to lose 50% of my hair. read more
