I called multiple places trying to find someone to come out and assess the damage and fix it. A number of places never brothered responding, and a couple actually set up appointments and then didn't show up. After hunting around for more places to call that were decently rated, I came across Holda Construction and I am so glad that I did. They called me back promptly to discuss and asked me to send pictures. After I sent photos, they got in touch and set up a time to come out for a quote within an hour, for the next day. Mariusz came out the next day, as promised (he even called to see if he could come a little earlier than scheduled) and assessed the situation. He explained the options and what his recommendation was- but there was no pressure to agree to the work on the spot- he just asked that I call and let him know if I wanted to move forward, His quote was extremely fair and better yet, he was able to start the work within the week. When I had questions on the contract he sent over, he immediately called to talk through them, and sent an updated quote the same day. The work took two days- the guys took care of everything, including a very thorough clean up- no debris to be found! And our new garage roof and gutters look great- and we now know that they have been properly installed, so we shouldn't have a repeat of the same issues we had experienced before. Seamless gutter run is 45' long and 30' in the air, a typical Chicago tall roof with a 45 degree pitch. The crew was experienced. Denny, the salesman was terrific; at our home overseeing the job every day. He made sure we knew how to operate the solar powered remote control windows and shades. We love them! We did have an issue with a skylight window which was a Velax problem. This was addressed immediately and without hesitation to our complete satisfaction. First we started with asking Yelp for help to find roofing contractors for a residential roof…read morerepair. We had moss growing on part of our roof where the sun did not shine most of the year. The moss was forcing some of our shingles to buckle. We also inherited two large areas that were 'repaired' at some point in the past, and those repairs were near failure. Fast forward a bit and we received four estimates for a roof replacement/ updated roof system from different contractors. UV Exteriors' estimate was the most competitively priced by far. We decided to have both the roof on our house and our garage replaced. Overall the sales process was very informative and helpful to us making a decision on our roof; we liked the salespeople from UV Exteriors. The shingles that we had on our roof were apparently called 3-tab shingles and all of the estimating companies stated that they either don't install them or manufacturers no longer make them. So we opted for an upgraded shingle with relief. Our new shingles have copper imbedded in them which prevents the growth of moss. The shingles also have a 50-year warranty, which is a big plus. The UV Exteriors crew arrived sometime before 8am, and they got to work right away. A complete tear-off, and a new installation took a single day by the crew. The crew was kind! Most importantly the installation was wonderfully done AND the mess that a roof tear-off creates was completely managed by the crew. We have not found a single errant shingle, nail, piece of plastic or other debris in our yard or our neighbor's yard. The roofing crew did an amazing job! We appreciate the great job that UV Exteriors did by installing our new roof system, and we highly recommend this roofing company to you!

Let me say this first, the whole experience of this company was far beyond my expectations. They found some dents on the roof and suggested contacting my insurance company to see if the roof can be replaced (the roof was quite old). They led negotiations on my behalf and then called me. Imagine, how surprised I was to find out that not only my roof will be replaced but also, insurance approved two sidings, new vents, downspouts, and others. Moreover, Weather Shield suggested using better, more expensive siding materials at no cost to me, and also, added third siding. I was speechless. I had my doubts, why would they do all these nice things to me maybe they got overpaid. I compared their prices to other companies, and it was about 30% cheaper. They are just hardworking people who run small business and make their clients happy. This is not it. The owner of the company and the manager were on site every single day, including Saturday and Sunday, supervising the work at all times. I thought what the heck I can't leave just one side (front) the way it is, now it looks ugly. Can it be covered by stones, is it expensive? And again, I was surprised, it was really affordable, and they suggested to pay at the end if I am satisfied by the end of the work. My house looks really beautiful now. I also had some inside jobs that needed to be done with no relevance to this project, and I asked them for a quote. Some jobs they did for free, and others at a very low price. I think, small and hard-working businesses like this should be encouraged to grow. I'll be happy to provide recommendations for them.
