I don't know what kind of parts are used to repair cars here, but I don't ever feel like I'm getting shoddy quality parts either. In fact, and I'm not saying they do this all the time, I've went to get my fluids checked before and they've done it for free AND topped off a couple of them free of charge. How many places do that? Experience: I have nothing negative to say about Dave's. Dave and his son (and the other employee's I've encountered) are absolutely fantastic. They've been really friendly and informative the entire time to by myself and my fiancee. I've learned quite a bit about my car and as mentioned above, never feel like I've gotten ripped off. I do all my oil changes here and repairs (I've had a couple exhaust repairs and a couple wheel repairs) and am always quoted with costs consistent with low prices on car forums online. Overall: If you're in Geneva, NY and need auto repair done, go to Dave's. Don't mess around with Monroe or other chains that always find more things they want you to pay to repair. Dave's will let you know how your car looks and tell you what they think about your car and if anything does look on the verge of failing they'll let you decide if you want to do it now, down the road, somewhere else, or at not all. Completely pressure-free and a great experience all around. Going to miss it when we move out of state.

I don't feel overcharged which is one issue with many garages. They get the work done in a reasonable amount of time. The only issue I've had is there are no appointments, so you just drop your car off the night before or in the morning and they call you when it is done. This could be inconvenient if you work outside of the area. Dave, the owner is a nice guy and seems to remember you after a few visits and remembers your car. The garage also does used car sales, and rents U-Hauls. I would definitely recommend this garage to anyone in the area that needs work done on their vehicle.

Mr. Tire is #1 on the CarTalk website! They were open the earliest of the places I looked into. And someone who works at my hotel said she recommended Mr. Tire as a place where they would not take advantage of someone in my position. I showed up first thing, dreading having to buy a new tire. Mr. Tire got me in quickly and said I didn't need a new tire (despite my announcement that I felt better getting one considering the long drive I had ahead of me). Instead the man at the counter said all I needed was a patch. I was in and out within an hour and it only cost $20! I was nervous on my drive, but the patch held! I would highly recommend Mr. Tire. Tried to initiate the warranty and was met with pushback and no communication. Not until my dad gave a bad google review did they take initiative to take care of things. They proceeded to provide me another engine with 10,000+ more miles than the first one I bought from them after telling me they would give me one with less miles than the first one I paid for. This engine again turned out to be worse in condition than the last one. I even took the liberty of taking the car to a third-party car shop to confirm that this was due to them selling me yet another bad product and not an improper install. I proceeded to send this over to fitz auto and was told that the "insurance company" denied my claim. Not Fitz auto or the so-called insurance company contacted my mechanic or the third party that diagnosed the bad engine to confirm the claim. I've been trying to get the information about this so-called insurance company and understand why the claim was denied especially with the picture/video proof and can't even receive that information or a conversation from the owner Jay. Every time I call in, he's either busy/on the phone/or not in his office, and what makes it even more ridiculous is I've been told I'd received information of the insurance claim for over a week now and still haven't even received that. I've paid close to 10k in expenses for an engine that was supposed to cost a couple thousand and they could care less about selling me dirt. They seem polite and trustworthy over the phone then could care less about the customer after they get their money. Just bad business all around. Buy here at your own risk it may wind up costing you just like it did me.
