First snow happened and my college kid got a nail in the all season tires. Grateful to the reddit…read morecommunity for suggesting Wilcox Tire. Good tires and brakes are everything for Ithaca's hills. AAA put the spare tire on. Wilcox patched the tire, put the spare back under the vehicle and put on the Bridgestone Blizzaks Snow tires. They were able to get the tires the next day and get them on the rims and balanced. Total cost was just under $1k, but these are the best tires on the market. Wilcox even gave a 1/2 off tire repair. They put the seasonal tires in the back of the car nicely wrapped in a plastic tire bag and said to come back in Spring to put them back on. Wish they had onsite tire storage, but found a small 5x5 storage locker at Bolt Storage for $20 a month in Newsfield, NY (20 minutes south of Ithaca and 1/2 the price).

I brought in a rim to WIlcox for their repair/straightening services. After a few days I was told…read morethat they couldn't straighten the dent. I received my wheel in the exact condition in which I left it--didn't even buff out the curb rash, nothing--and the bill was $545. They did mount a $200 tire as I told them too, because the wheel does hold air just fine. I paid it and left-- I wouldn't go back. They wouldn't even mount it for me because "the compressor was shut down."

Unfortunately these days new cars don't come with spares and I had to use a fix a flat kit because I had no other way to fix it (PSA: Only use fix a flat kits as a last resort--they gunk up the inside of the wheel and messes up your TPMS!!!) Every tire place I went to or called was exceptionally rude and said I would have to wait 3 hours. Mr Tire said they can do it in an hour and half. It was a quick drop off and I came back in 1.5 hours to a fixed tire. Huge thanks to Anthony for fixing and cleaning up all the fix a flat gunk. The guy manning the desk was super chill and nice too. Def recommend if you have any problems with your car.

The owner was very nice and all the techs were knowledgeable. They also provided a loaner car since the job took longer than working hours the day of. The cost is a little steep on parts and labor is about the same if not better than anywhere in the area. The only reason I didn't give a perfect review is because I bought OEM parts thinking I could do the job myself and they would not use customer provided parts I had already bought. So the job took an extra day for their parts to ship and I have to return the parts I bought. The upside to this is they back their parts with a year or 12000 mile guarantee. That aside, I am glad I took my truck there and I would do it again if such a situation arises again. I would recommend them to anyone.

Patterson's is the only garage in Ithaca, NY that I would recommend for servicing your vehicle…read more It may be more expensive than the average garage in the area, but with increased cost comes increased quality. The technicians are knowledgeable, friendly, and much more reasonable than dealerships I have dealt with. I have had my vehicle serviced here many times since I starting living in Ithaca, for a variety reasons including coolant leakage, issues with brakes, and a broken leaf-spring, all of which were effectively resolved thanks to Patterson's!

I said yes, thinking the cost would be worth the time it would take me to go buy the bulb and figure out how to install it. The oil change with the bulb replacement was $160. If that wasn't bad enough when I got home I realized the light on the back wasn't even installed properly. I went back to the shop to get it fixed, something that took 30 seconds. This was insane to me. A task that they initially billed .3 hours for to take 30 seconds to redo told me I was being exorbitantly overcharged. I was able to get a refund on the bulb but I feel as though they thought I wasn't smart and didn't understand I was being scammed. Do not go to Patterson's! I will not be returning and nor should you !!
