The girls run laps around the dance floor and then stretch barefoot on carpeting that looks like it hasn't been shampooed in a decade. After having a friendly exchange with Alex over email about having my daughter join a comp class and asking if it was ok for a three year old to try it, we were gobsmacked by the rudest head teacher leading the class. Granted, our child doesn't acclimate well or easily to new experiences and was clingy for the first 20 minutes, but she started to warm up a bit and followed the class with help from me. How is it then that the lead teacher zones in us and says very rudely and with a thick scowl, "Your child is too young, she is not ready!" Any normal parent takes this as a cue to leave so I led my kid to the parent area and began putting on her shoes. Lo and behold the lead teacher actually followed us and began to scold me! She says, "Why did you leave the class?!" Hey Lady! I am almost 40 years old. This isn't the movie, "An Officer and Gentleman". You're not the Russian version of Louis Gossett, Jr. And I'm not Richard Gere. You're not here to break me or my daughter down in order to gain some sick satisfaction of having us beg to stay. So I yelled back and said, "You said she's not ready, so why should we stay?!" And that yes, I agree she's too young but I've never experienced such a rude approach from a teacher talking to a prospective student. The teacher shakes her head at me and says she's never had a parent talk to her like that and that "I'm not her (kind of) parent." Well good! I'm not paying my hard earned cash for an unfriendly, military-like extracurricular environment. Really, What adult talks to another adult like that? This odd "tough love" "destroy your confidence" approach is as archaic as the building that houses this gymnastics class. Completely ridiculous. Anyone reading this - stay far, far, far away. I recommend Nina's Gymnastics in Maspeth where the teachers are NORMAL and it's in a legit studio/gym facility.

As the owner says, it's very much a gym style experience with gymnastics theme. However, when I called today to get a better understanding of what levels my girls are now after 3 years, the owner informed me that they are beginners because they take classes on the Saturday and Sunday. And while they do subdivide kids within the class based levels, your kid is just a name and no profile is created about her/him where the owner is able to talk about without having to ask the teachers about it. Any parent education or a clear progression of levels is nonexistent, at least for my kids. If I wanted to gear towards competitive path, I was told that they can't try out unless they take at least 2 classes but usually this was invitation only. No instructor or facility has ever come to me or educated me regarding whether any child should or has the ability to move towards this. In addition, they got my child's information wrong and tells me she should have been recreational level. The owner calls me back to inform me that my daughter was working on back walkover after speaking to the instructor. My daughter works hard and I expect the facility to know my child and to monitoring the progression and also keep the parent informed. So if you child attends on Saturdays and Sunday, you are officially a beginner no matter how long you've been going there. Instructor's are good but how it's run and lack of communication with parents, and even general visibility of progressing the students is really bad.

I used to be a gymnast many many moons ago and wanted to see if I could still do some tricks, but on very bouncy surfaces. Cory was so kind and patient with me and he really left a lasting impression, so we kept in touch. When my friend told me her son was interested in gymnastics, of course Cory immediately came to mind! We ended up stopping by this past weekend and I was so happy to see what Cory has accomplished. Lots of equipment especially for children, combined with his signature helpful, kind demeanor and fun yet safe approach was such a great experience for my friend and her son. I would recommend everyone try out Cory's new gym!

We initially just popped over to check things out and chat with the instructor a bit, but ended up staying for a drop in class even though we didn't pre-book for the session (so having that as an option is wonderful) as we found Coach Stephens so kind and gracious! Our kids got to see what different aspects to gymnastics there are, try out different exercises and equipment, and get a sense of basic skill level. Being raised going to gymnastic classes regularly as a kid, it brought me so much nostalgia; it was great to see how knowledgeable and skillful he is at teaching the sport (as I know how hard teaching almost anything can be) in a fun and engaging way - while also pushing and being supportive in areas he sees could be worked on. We immediately got multi-class passes afterward... highly recommend!!

I enrolled my daughter again for the Fall semester and the experience I had prior is not the case now. I love how many skills she has learned and how much stronger she has become. Her listening skills are also improving. The only issue I had was I couldn't register her online and had to do it in person but it wasn't too much of an issue. Keep up the great work.

She is the worst of all don't waste your time. She is unpleasant and impolite. Not very unhelpful and extremely disrespectful. If only they made sure they accommodated you as they charge you. First, make sure they explain the payment situation so they don't make new rules as is beneficial for them. They have a pay-per-class or pay for four weeks in advance. Apparently, it doesn't work like that. My daughter signed up for 4 weeks of classes which were paid for in advance as they should or as the policy seems to be. At the end of her 4 week classes, my ex-husband couldn't go to Ninas to make a payment. We wanted to sign her up for another 4 weeks but my ex husband had a family emergency and couldn't make it to pay and there is no contract. He paid the following week and they charged last weeks class that wasnt paid for as if that was part of the package when I inquired because to my knowledge you paid for your classes in full. The receptionist was like no no no that class count. That class was never paid so why should it count? I even witness another parent having to deal with the same situation. New policies need to be made. One were the parents are sure of what they are getting themselves into with this establishment.

Some might say they are mean to them, but I'd say they are just teaching them discipline. Something I never experienced there is being harassed for payment. Some might call it harassment but I call it a reminder. I actually appreciate the reminders. I never regretted enrolling my daughter to Nina's, and I highly recommend Nina's if your child wants to be a gymnast.

He's done classes for 3 years now, summer camp, and some clinics or day camps. His different coaches (Tony, Jackie, DJ and Tyler) have always been supportive - so, special thanks to them ! We're very excited for him to move up to Jaguars in the Fall. We let him choose every single session if he wants to continue, and he has never hesitated to say yes. I have also done the baby classes with my youngest and it was really sweet and fun (coach Maria era!). I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to join back in Saturday classes, as these start at 3. Signup can be a bit stressful as there are more families interested than spots, especially on Saturdays, but we've succeeded every year since we wanted to enroll, by being quick and efficient at Registration start time. It also gets easier as the kids grow up. And of course, the registration priority during the year is key, making it smooth and easy 2/3 of the time. During camps, the recent addition of aftercare until 5 pm has been a nice option. They're very responsive in case of anything needed. Last but not least, I particularly like their inclusiveness and positive messages, it's great to expose our kids to these early on and I'm glad they do that. Long live Industry and Natalie :)

Toni and his son, Costa, are amazingly talented themselves, but, more importantly, are phenomenal teachers. The energy here is so great; that's why I keep coming back every week. I'm taking the 8p Adult Gymnastics Tumbling class as a complete beginner with no prior experience (and not much flexibility). Costa works with you at the level you're at. Enough talking. Nonetheless he is still fun-loving and the students just love him. Coach Tommy is the nurturing one, friendly and caring. She has grown in her ability, strength and confidence. Cherry Lane has a very low coach to student ratio. There are usually only 4 or 5 girls working with each coach at any given time. Sometimes there are only 3 girls in her group. This ratio is really is much lower than other gyms and my daughter has benefited form it tremendously. I read another review that stated that the staff was rude and that they only care about money. I obviously don't know what happened but I can say that my experience has been the complete opposite. I've only found them to be exceptionally helpful and considerate.
