They certainly live up to the name! After having the Lexus dealership tell me I need new brakes as well as Firestone, who charged me $46 to diagnose the car and quoted about $750 for the FRONT ALONE (after quoting half that over the phone), I went to Good Honest Mechanic thinking they could do the actual work for a reasonable price. After reviewing my vehicle, it turned out all my brakes are fine and no work was needed. They explained to me how they are at 5 millimeter and at exactly what number/range they start to recommend addressing them. This all lined up with what I read online as far as best practice for car brakes! Rather than try to take advantage of my ignorance and get $700+ like the other businesses, they told me upfront what the deal was and I appreciate that. Debbie at the front desk was nice to chat with also and provided me with updates on my vehicle. Zack and his team saved me from spending unnecessary money when I could really afford to. I found the team to be personable and honest! After this first impression, I will certainly be back!

It's amazing. How much the driving experience can change when I take them here and they get serviced. The prices here are the best in town (and I drive 45 minutes from Nashville to get here). Chris and Sergey are the best and they treat you and your cars like family. I highly recommend taking your cars here and just have them look at them. They'll give you a checklist of recommended repairs/maintenance that they never push for you to do them all at once. Over the course of paying for the much needed maintenance on my cars they now run like brand new. My 2007 Honda Fit has 160K mi but you would never know. Ask them to do the engine restoration service. You won't recognize your car after that. Moving to NJ and I'm honestly really upset I can't bring them with me. Thanks guys it's been a pleasure.

Customer service is nonexistent at this shop. They take your car for a scheduled drop-off but give…read moreno guarantees on when they'll start or finish the work. Communication is poor, leaving you feeling like you must hound them for updates. My car was with them for 5 business days, during which they only worked on it for 3 to 4 hours and failed to fully repair it. Scheduling an appointment feels pointless. I booked a diagnostic test for my main and auxiliary batteries 3 days ahead of a Thursday appointment. I confirmed the appointment the day before. When I dropped it off Thursday morning, I was assured I'd receive an update "maybe after lunch time." By the end of the day, I received no update from them and when I stopped by the shop, I could see that my vehicle had been untouched. I reiterated my need for the car by Monday, and they said they'd try to look into it the next day. On Friday, I sent a polite reminder and received a curt response saying they prioritize repairs as they arrive. It became clear that appointments are just window dressing. They finally completed the battery replacement on Friday but then found what they believed was an issue causing a battery drain, requiring more diagnostics. A delay in identifying that problem extended my car's time with them. By end of day the following Monday, I had heard nothing from them. On Tuesday, I asked for an update and was promised to be provided a status update before end of day, but they failed to provide any kind of update. On Wednesday, I pressed for an update again, reminding them of the delays. They finally had a tech spend a couple more hours doing diagnostics but still couldn't pinpoint the issue and stated they would need more time (and money) to troubleshoot. After 5 days and minimal progress, I decided to retrieve my vehicle. A nearby Mercedes dealership charged me for diagnostics and found NO issues! Given my experience, I do not trust this shop for future work. They've lost my business and have shown a troubling lack of efficiency and a customer centric focus. From previous reviews, I've noticed that the shop's ownership likes to debate negative reviews (and they get the last word). I've provided all the facts accurately and if Yelp allowed more space for reviews, I'd give you even more details. For potential customers: be wary. They treat new customers poorly, break promises and take too long to perform basic maintenance. Save yourself the hassle--go elsewhere.

From oil change to brake change, tire rotation or blown gasket- I have always been pleased with the communication and services here. I have met many staff members, and each interaction was met with clear communication and understanding. I once went in to get my brakes changed (they were squeaking) and instead they let me know that the brakes were dirty, cleaned them for me, and did not charge me for a brake change. The squeaking was fixed, my vehicle safely brakes; they are honest and followed up with me to ask if I would still like the service after some driving.
