This hamburger 'fast food' joint...has gone way down hill lately…read more Stopped in for a quick lunch... and honestly this place is nothing like what we experienced in past... our burgers were tasteless... (so much for the commercials touting Canadian grass fed beef!!) ...today...the beef had no flavour, and buns were smaller.) In addition, when I asked why there was no ice in our soda, the young girls replay was ''''we only put ice in speciality drinks!'''' And '''we can get into 'Trouble' if we put ice into soft drinks!''' What? I I asked... why is that? She replied 'the ice machine can't keep up with ice demand'. What the hell...I thought silently! My suggestion for managment ...get a more efficient ice machine....no one wants a warm soda at a fast food joint! Other item noted, this A@W use to be staffed by a few mature women, and they were great at service and food quality! These ladies are now gone...maybe retired? But the younger crew here, and esp the cook are not supplying the same quality of food and service as in the past. I know you may say...'hey, it's fast food...what do you expect'. But we've eaten and A@W for years while on the road...throughout the us...and Canada...and they're all so much better in flavour, service and quality. That said, we won't be going back to this Sahali A@W branch. Especially with so many burger joints are available within a few block radius!

Burgers were surprisingly juicy, fries were perfect, and friendly service. The only oddity was lack…read moreof ice at the soda machine.

Note they close at 9pm The Southwest chop salad with chicken for 2 $42.00 steep price The sad salad was basically iceberg lettuce, some corn and chopped tomatoes with Vinaigrette which overpowered the entire meal - the tortilla chips were stale the $5 extra for chicken was 4 small strips of bland chicken.. Did not really care for the sports bar ambience inside but the patio was fantastic. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Had one of the local beers which I really enjoyed. For our dinner my wife had the burnt ends tostadas and I had a señorita crunch sandwich with their "famous mac & cheese". The tostadas were pretty good, but hard to eat. Basically large tortilla chips with coleslaw and BBQ burnt ends. My sandwich was really a fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickled jalapeños. The jalapeños had to come out as they were just too hot for me. The mac & cheese was OK but nothing tremendous. It was an eight dollar upgrade over fries, mostly because it was a huge serving. I probably wouldn't order my sandwich or mac & cheese again, but the beer and tostadas were pretty good.

Passing through Kamloops on a Sunday evening makes dinner choices difficult. Fortunately, we can…read morealways count on a White Spot. And this location didn't disappoint. The interior is just like your typical WS, although the music piped in was a little loud - not objectionably so, but still prominent. I chose the Chicken Yaki Udon Bowl (a new menu item) to try. It has chicken thigh & sesame udon noodles tossed in a sweet & savory sauce with mushrooms, spinach, cabbage, pickled carrots & cilantro. The preparation was a little heavy handed with the furikake seasoning but, overall, it was pretty good. The small (and few) pieces of chicken were tender and flavorful, the vegetables were crisp and the noodles had a good chew. Service was exemplary. Our server was personable and attentive. Prices are about what you would expect from a White Spot. Overall, we were glad we found WS (and they were open).

This White Spot is in a plaza just off Notre Dame Drive in a busy retail area with plenty of vehicle traffic. There was plenty of parking and we were seated immediately when we arrived...both always nice positives. The restaurant was quite busy and after I flagged down our server, she was very pleasant and attentive. While not a fan of restaurant chains, I do like the White Spot menu and it brings a level of comfort having dined at many over the years. I opted for the Triple O burger with lettuce & tomato and the fries...I do like their fries. The burger and fries were tasty...same as in other White Spots. And so liked they now have an IPA added to their beer selection...thank you White Spot. It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend this White Spot if in Kamloops and looking for comfort food.
