Then we got a bottle for $25 of Vementino which was delicious! We brought some snacks so didn't get any there but Debbie (one of the owners) brought us some local pretzels that were bomb! Great little local winery. If a country park and a winery got together...Triple B would be the result. Outdoor seating amoungst the oak trees, next to the vineyard here is a great way to enjoy some wine and not feel like you are in a big corporate business. I really like that the wines are estate grown and naturally made, so yes...you kind of never know what you are going to get. A certain style will be very different here from one vintage to the next. That is how nature does wine. But, there is always a great selection so I have always found something I have liked and been able to sit, enjoy, and sip a bit. Cheers! read more

Cute family owned winery! We got there right when they opened, 13 year old standard poodle, tow. We were delighted that well behaved dogs on a leash were welcome on the patio!! The owner greeted us and got our flights going. Being family owned, we met the owners mom who had walked across the field for a visit. The family has been in the area since the 60's. The patio is charming and inviting surrounded by the orchard and some huge oak trees. We tried the vermentino and the voignier. Both were nice, but I prefer a drier wine. We also got a tasting of the merlot and cabernet sauvignon and enjoyed both. The rosé wasn't in the tasting, but we ordered a bottle to share, and that's what we enjoyed most. What a great find on the way home from a Staycation at the local casino!! Family run winery. Very peaceful surroundings - citrus trees, very large oak trees (over 300 years old), a little wildlife (we saw 3 woodpeckers & a few lizards). Wine tastings were $10 - I went with all reds, my friend mixed it up whites and reds. Took home a bottle in their cool growler - bring it back they keep a few wines on tap. They also have wine KEGS!!! O_O They do tours by appointment as well. They are only open Friday - Saturday. Come earlier to avoid the crowds & bring a picnic if you like. First, let me say that I've never been a fan of wine tasting. For me, I've always walked into a winery, stuck my nose in the air, pretended to be distinguished like everyone else, swirled my wine around in a pretentious way in my over-sized glass, sniffed it longingly, sipped, then did my best to come up with random tasting notes while others would nod and say "yes, I wholeheartedly agree." Let me be the first to tell you that a trip to Triple B Ranches is totally unlike any other wine tasting experience I've ever had. Chris, the winemaker, and his very knowledgeable business partner, Frank, are two of the coolest and approachable guys I've ever met. Their unassuming and welcoming presence was quite refreshing in the world of wine tasting, allowing me to let my guard down and just taste the wine in the relaxing way it was meant to be enjoyed. The winery is absolutely beautiful, tucked in to one of Valley Center's most calming and endearing locations on Vesper Road. Their wine is incredible and the best part is you can meet the couple who makes it while taking a tour of their rustic facility. They'll even spend an hour with you telling you all the fun stories on how it was made and intricate details about the grapes, wine varieties, storing temperatures, aging procedures and anything else you'd like to know. I love going here when I visit my dad in the area. I live in CARLSBAD and before going back home I love to stop here for a glass of wine. My favorite is the Vignior. Debbie is very friendly. Although I do prefer ordering a bottle instead of the glass as I'm not sure I like wine on the tap. I think they are different. I did have a glass of wine poured from the bottle which was good. When I had the second seemed very strong, not sure if it was from the same bottle or tap. read more

Great afternoon outside under old oak trees nice breeze great wine and pick up party had some great smoked food cheese jam, pork roast And three wines to taste. Really a lovely place very hospitable and we always like the Merlot. Bonus today we got to try a chocolate gelato and a pumpkin spice one, yummy . What an amazing hidden gem we have found here! I stumbled upon this winery on Yelp and I am so glad I did! This winery is small, homey, friendly, peaceful and they best of all have great wine! We rode our Harley's out here and what a great tucked away place it is! Among citrus and vines this old house converted to their business sits. What a great find! Small patio enough for 20 people. The weather was cool and Debbie the owner was really nice. We spent two hours just sitting outside admiring the flowers and vineyards and enjoying the seven glass tasting menu all for $10. We added some salty pretzels and fudge for a couple of dollars more and it was well worth it! At the end of our visit, Debbie even told us to grab some of grapefruit from the trees outside! how nice of her! Overall, the prices are great and the spot is so nice and serene. My wife and I were staying at Harraha's Rincon on a Monday and wanted to find some wine tasting near the area for the afternoon. I found The Tripple B Ranches Winery only to discover it was by appointment only during the week. I asked the person (Chris) if there was any he could accommodate us on a moments notice since we were leaving town the next day. Turns out Chris was the wine maker and he spoiled us to a private, informative afternoon at his family's beautiful cottage ranch style boutique winery. We shared some great conversation and some great wine tasting under the beautiful oak tree in a relaxed and picturesque setting. The Merlot was exceptional so we picked up a couple bottles to take with us. Chris was a genuine cool and knowledgeable guy and made our afternoon an excellent experience. We will definately visit Tripple B Ranches again and I would highly recommend this gem of a winery. read more

Disclaimer: Personally, I am interested in the success of Triple B Ranches. They help me produce my mead for my start-up nano meadery, Golden Coast Mead. I am not an employee of theirs, but I am a business partner. That being said, everyone should be interested in the success of Triple B Ranches because they are dedicated to two noble purposes: producing world class wines in San Diego county from San Diego grown grapes, and making San Diego known as a world class agricultural area that produces excellent food across the board. They succeed exceptionally well at the first endeavor. Their wines are marked by subtlety and balance, while being delicious and full. What more can be said except that I love them? I have seen many people taste through the wines offered at Triple B (to include the wines made by family affiliated Vesper Vineyards) and they all develop this look of pleased shock, and say something to the affect of, "I didn't know they made wines this good in San Diego. Wow. These are incredible." Seriously. I have seen at least 9 people have this reaction, and they were seasoned wine drinkers. On the other hand, I have seen brand new wine drinkers come to their first tasting ever at Triple B, and have a great time touring the property, engaging the winemakers, learning about and tasting great wine. The only thing that needs to be improved is the interior of the tasting room, which is currently being remodeled. The upshot of this drawback is that for those who go soon, while the remodel is still ongoing, you can sit on the deck and taste wine under 100 year old oak trees. Then, when you come back years from now, when Triple B is one of many world class tasting rooms and wineries in San Diego county, you can tell your friends, "I was here when they hadn't finished plastering these walls. They were making amazing wine then, and it's only gotten better" Triple B Ranches and their affiliated Vesper Vineyards are incredible. You should contact them and schedule a tasting. read more

It turns out that their wine is REALLY GOOD and they grow unique varietals that you probably won't find anywhere else. It is also a great atmosphere to enjoy a warm day and have a picnic. Ahhhhhmazing! We came here with zero expectations and we were wowed instantly! It's so peaceful and has such great energy. My favorite was the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and then the 2009 Merlot, but there was not a wine I didn't like including the white Viognier which was delightful as well! We had two cheese boards which came with delicious crackers salami, cheeses and dried apricots which went perfectly with our tasting. Overall 5 star experience!
