This is another hot spot to cool your hump in the dessert. Start with bacon wrapped blue cheese stuffed dates. Wash UT all away with a blue Hawaiin but ask for canton ginger liquor in it to add to the dessert tiki charm. Sit at the bar for instant service. Grab the steak and truffle garlic fries. They pile on the garlic to ward off old velvet vampires who may want to suck the polyester right off your jumpsuit. Dessert is watching the locals get sloshed and sneak bites of your dinner right off your plate. Ignore them and keep eating. You can always walk it off and window shop your way back home.

We just moved to Palm Springs from NYC, so we are eating our way though the area. So far, one of my most favorite places is Trio. I love their orange chairs and festive outdoor seating environment. The service is great and the food wonderful. I had the special, the chilean sea bass and I LOVED it. A sizeable, think juicy filet on a bed of mashed potatoes with apsargus and a base of mango puree. YUM. The tables are amply socially distanced and all servers are masked. We felt safe. I have a feeling we will become regulars here!

A close up on the ahi tuna tacos.

Salads were all very oily/overdressed, and very expensive for what came with them. Entrees we're just fine, not a ton of flavor.

This wasn't just any poodle either. This was a fully groomed, cloud-like creature with a level of confidence most people don't have. The kind of poodle that looks like it has opinions about fabrics. It walked into the store like it had an appointment. There was a brief pause at the entrance... a moment to take it all in... and then a slow, deliberate stroll past the displays, as if deciding between classic monogram or something a little more understated this season. And the best part? No one reacted Everyone just... accepted it ..... As if this poodle had been there before. As if it had a purchase history At one point it stopped near a display.... looked up ever so slightly, and I swear it gave off the energy of "this one, but in a different color." I didn't see what it left with, but I have a strong feeling it wasn't empty-handed. Only in Palm Desert do you find yourself watching a poodle casually browse Louis Vuitton... and somehow, it makes perfect sense.

It was just a simple calculation in my head because of the El Paseo location and it being not too far from the all-out MAGA Patriot Store. The 'pretty things inside' sidewalk sign caught my attention today and I ventured in with the lowest of expectations. Turns out, my assumptions were way off; the shop has a beautiful aesthetic with thoughtfully curated clothing that captures the L.A. cool vibe that I remember well when I lived there. The clothes are priced appropriately for their quality, to be sure. They are not expensive per se, but you are getting top notch quality for the money. A sweatshirt may be $200 bucks but it is likely the softest one you'll ever own. I loved how the clothes had such a luxe, soft touch to them. There were some summery white clothes that were chic but I don't know how you could wear underwear underneath them that doesn't show, but that's not my concern. I was greeted when I walked in, checked on while shopping in a friendly way, and not stalked which I also appreciated. I ventured upstairs to the home goods department (I think she said) and found lots of mystical items and books that I was fascinated with. I don't hold any beliefs on tarot, astrology and the like, but I found this display charming and I picked up a few 'starter kits' just for fun. Checkout was pleasant and my purchases were wrapped in tissue and placed in a lovely bag. After my visit I scanned through some of the Yelp reviews and was surprised to see someone complaining about the customer service or that they had to ask for a bag or whatever. And that they didn't know you could only exchange for a store credit - Girl, there is a sign right there next to the payment machine. I'll be back for sure and would highly recommend Blonde to all blondes, brunettes, redheads and ravenhaired.

This place would be your typical covered indoor mall. Theres not much to it besides the main stores with Macys, Dicks and JC Pennys as they're major department stores. They have some of the other basics you would get inside any mall. HM, Finish Line, Hollister, Lids, Vans, Bath and Body Works and so on. Your regular retail chain stores. It's a decent size mall that you could walk down the whole strip in no time. Not overly big. Lately whenever I pop in to windows shop, it's not that busy. But I guess now as school is starting soon it has picked up a lot. They do have some restaurants as well as smaller snack booth. It's sucks that this is the only mall in the desert. You would think that they would make it way better to cater to everyone. But I guess it's going well so far. Not a lot of stores that I've been to as they're new to me. Plenty of parking with outdoor as well as a covered parking structure in the back.

They have the stores that you find in every mall that I usually stop in the first time to see what they have like Box Lunch, Miniso, Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle, etc. It is nice that this location has a Barnes and Nobles (though so many of them now are just glorified toy stores now...) and when I went they had a dog rescue pop up here too, which was nice. Love when malls reach out to the community. Love Crepe-ing Ramen that they have in the food court. Good to kill a bit of time and to absorb AC but it's not anything spectacular.
