I was referred to and advised that Collin County ENT would take Tri-Care. Truth is that they do take Tri-Care and it is in network, but only as a secondary insurance, not a primary insurance (According to the receptionist that I spoke to it is office dependent, so they can make their own rules). So, what do veterans do when they do not have additional insurance? I think this is a very poor stance when your duties are to help. You only help when it benefits you as the Doctor. What a work-around to allow this organization to charge more for service. I know that doctors who support military veterans take more of a loss. It's a given but when you say you do but there's a catch, you are just spitting in the face of those who served to allow you to skate around the issue of possibly taking less money for the same payment. This is just so frustrating to know that I pay a lot for my military "Tri-Care Prime" insurance. More than most who may be transiting through this office (if they pay anything at all) but only to be told your second rate. Pathetic! I'm sure you have the ability to find my name. I even checked because 6 people that came in after me we sent back. A couple completed their visit and left before I was sent back. After I was sent back I was informed that it would be another 20-30 minutes before I saw the doctor. At this point I elected to get up and leave. I was asked if I wanted to call back to reschedule to which I declined. They obviously have too many patients if the wait times are this lengthy. I'm sure from the other review that they are fine doctors especially considering the patient load but to have this experience is rude and dis-courteous. So, I called and got an appointment with whomever is now at Hearing Services of McKinney, because I have not been hearing very well with my hearing aids that I spent $6,000 for several years ago. A young woman wearing jeans, looking like she was getting reading to clean her garage, called me to the exam room and took my hearing aids. She left the room with them and came back about 15 minutes later and told me that that there was nothing wrong with my hearing aids, but since they were more than four years old, I should get a new pair. She mentioned that the price has now increased by $1,000, so new ones would be $7,000. She did not bother to test my hearing, nor did she bother to tell me that she could adjust the hearing aids I have now. She said the only thing my hearing aids were doing now was to amplify. I left in a daze, being a retired teacher, wondering how in the world I would be able to afford $7,000 or more each four years. It dawned on me after I got home that she had told me that there was nothing wrong with my present hearing aids, and that she did not offer me any option but to purchase new ones. Neither did she test my hearing (why does a person make an appointment with an audiologist, but to have their hearing tested and corrected)? So, I paid $65 for this person, Ms. Gilbo, to do a whole lot of nothing for me. I believe she completely led me astray, did not bother to offer me any solution except to spend a fortune on new aids, and then lied to me when I called her and expressed my concern. I arrive, and there is a different practice (not an ENT) in that space. I called them and was on hold for 15 minutes, only to find out that my appointment was in McKinney; they don't even know how or why I was given that address, and it will be another full month before I can be seen. It did not matter that I have hearing loss as a result of the sinus infection and that my PCP suspects a fungal infection. Then I asked to be put on a cancellation list, and they informed me that they do not have one. I would need to call in every day and check if they have had any cancellations. I'll keep my appointment scheduled for a month away, but I'm going to call my PCP and get a different ENT.

It was very clear I was sick bc I don't have my voice. The lady said she would ask how to handle that and when she got back on the phone said, sorry the policy is that you have to show up or we will charge you a late cancellation fee. I then said, so you guys want us to come and both my son and I both have COVID? She said "well you can bring a doctor's note"... huh? I barely have energy to leave the house for 1 appointment you're asking me to go to the doctors now? Lol comedy. Nope, we'll be there at 2PM. I find it absolutely unsympathetic and ridiculous that in a scenario such as this there is no empathy or consideration. I've been going here for the past 4yrs or so and have had NO track record of cancellations, but they treat me as if I am a frequent cancellation customer... in fact we moved to Carrollton which isn't close and we decided to still keep our business here. I flew back to dfw to talk to some specialists and Dr Huang treated me with plain disrespect, completely dismissing my chronic health issues because my 'sinuses and throat look completely fine'. she then recommended me to get a CT scan the following day knowing I don't have health insurance. she also told me that rinsing my nose with saline and water in a netti pot/ infant ear cleaner was incorrect, what??? she was completely off putting, rude, and did not listen to a word I was saying.
