The water was like glass. The fish were jumping. The eagles were soaring. Great time.

We rented a houseboat for 4 days. The bathrooms stunk so bad, it smelled like a park restroom. The people are so nice and the prices are very good. The houseboat was very old and not maintained very well. I feel bad giving this family owned business a bad review but I feel the need to warn people about the poor condition of the houseboats. If they remodeled the toilets and completed maintenance repairs I would change my mind. The lake is amazing so I highly recommend the location.

My Family and friends have been coming to this Marina since I was a kid. The memories and summer fun are etched into my mind. All year we would look forward to our June vacation that would start at Trinity Alps Marina. I remember Marilyn giving the kids ice cream on a beautifully perfect summer day, I remember thinking summer was not complete until the moment I was standing on a floating dock in the sun kissed by trinity lake water and thinking it was the perfect place in the world, ice cream melting down my chin. I know sounds corny, but nothing has changed. Those days are 50 years gone by now but there isn't a moment I don't think about my arrival every June. We are always given a Service Ready boat with a cold fridge, comfortable beds and a familiar nostalgic vibe. Sure its usually the same boat we have been using year after year but it always feels new to me and my family and guests. Sure you could go to the other marina and rent a newer bigger ship, your going to pay 200.00 to 300.00 more per day, use a ton more gas and you know what else, there wont be sunny family happy moments etched into you memory about a happy sun bleached kid eating ice cream on a dock feeling like hes in Disneyland and life dosn't get anymore perfect.

I believe we paid $30 for both kayaks. So inexpensive. We weren't camping far, and we wanted to get on the water before it got too hot. We've been dealing with 100 degree days (in late July), so it was best to be done by 10. We got on the water at 8 am, and paddled towards Lewiston. It was such a beautiful morning. The lake was just stocked with trout, so we saw lots of trout jumping! The lake has a 10 mph speed limit, so it was very quiet. We saw a couple of boats and one other pair of kayakers. It was a weekday, so there weren't too many people. After getting off the water, we bought a couple of ice cream drumsticks from their little store. They also have chips and other snacks, but the ice cream really hit the spot. We managed to sit under one of their heritage Apple trees and saw more fish jumping. Their dog was so excited that the fish was jumping. Lol They do have a restroom but it's a Porta Potty. It's not bad though. We overheard the owner say on the phone that she was closing the Marina soon as she has to go back to teaching. So glad she was still around when we were there!

We only stayed for two nights but in the short visit we squeezed in kayaks on the lake, floating down the river, fishing and a short hike. When we asked our boys what their favorite part of summer break was they said "lakeview terrace"!

DON'T RENT A SKI BOAT FROM THIS PLACE…read more Had a great northern california trip with the exception of the substandard, subpar, partially operating boat and equipment they rented us. The boat couldn't even pull a skiier out of the water, our skiier got injured as a direct result of the "ski" boat (it's not a ski boat, it's a pleasure boat) and skis so old, out of date and damaged (rubber boots ripped) it ruined the day. They also charge more than Shasta. The trim tabs in the cockpit don't operate, you have to do it manually by pressing a button on the engine, and that's only to trim up, you can't trim down. This was an absolute joke, who is going to hang their head over the stern of a speeding boat, reach down near the prop and trim it while you're operating? Their legal exposure is pretty high from our experience. 300 hp Ski Nautique beautiful boat we rented in Shasta: 390 for the whole day. Comes with skis. This garbage place run by teenagers who don't know anything about boats, equipment, or even how to issue a refund to a credit card: we paid $500 for a half day (tax, gas, tube rental, ski rental) The only high point was Rich.. seems like a nice guy, but that hardly compensates for an injury and

The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful while we were there. When we went to dock they were very rushed and unhelpful with us unloading. My wife had to tell them to back off because they almost knocked my 3yr old daughter into the lake. I also witnessed the cashier intentionally hanging up on people calling the marina rather than answering the phone. Now I know what had happened to me weeks earlier when the phone would ring then hang up before it would go to voicemail. The one good thing was the boat we rented was new and clean.

We were having fun and I wasn't watching the sun in the sky- and then realized that we needed to get to a gas station ASAP. We pulled in on absolute fumes to Bridge Bay at 6:05pm, and were greeted by a very kind young man who let us know unfortunately that they were closed. I begged for a miracle- single lady on a lake with a bunch of kids, and he took me to see his manager to plead my case. I even offered them $100 cash for any gas they might have... manager said no. "Nope, I don't have the codes." No idea what that means... just know he refused to help me. I realize that this was my mistake- but honestly, a gas station should have a way to help people in emergencies. I'd leave a one star review- but the young man was so kind and polite, he was really trying to help, despite his manager. It was a lesson learned about gas, closing times, and I have a new awareness about the lake community- you are really on your own out there.
