Stunning Views from my Kayak!!! No Complaints here :)
    Robyn Q.

Charlie, Greg, and Steve were the nicest people!!! We were staying at Mary Smith Campground couple miles down the road, my friend and I wanted to rent some Kayaks...possibly for the day, possibly for the night, or for two days!? We were not sure how long we wanted them for, but either way we were met with a super accomodating, friendly and helpful staff. Get this -- We rented two kayaks and paddled them down current to our camp, then we didn't want to paddle them back up against the current, SO THEY CAME OUT TO US AND PICKED THE KAYAKS UP FROM OUR CAMPSITE!!! Now that's service!!! They could not have been more helpful! Highly and Happily recommend Pine Cove Marina to anyone in the Lewiston/Trinity area ;)

We booked a houseboat at Antlers Resort over Memorial Day weekend and overall had a good…read moreexperience, though there were both highlights and some notable drawbacks. What Went Well: * Booking and Check-In: The resort staff were organized, clear, and responsive. From initial inquiries to payment reminders, everything was handled efficiently. Check-in took just a few minutes, and they helped us transport luggage and spent 30-60 minutes giving us a personal walkthrough of the boat, which we appreciated. * Boat Quality: We were pleasantly surprised to receive a free upgrade to a nicer boat. The vessel was well-equipped, featuring a hot tub, water slide, full kitchen (oven, microwave, running water)--everything was in great condition and very enjoyable. * Support and Communication: Throughout the trip, the staff were easily reachable by phone and did wellness check-ins, which made us feel supported. When we had issues, they were quick to advise and assist. * Departure and Return: Staff helped guide us out of the harbor with hand signals and came out to help dock the boat at the end of the trip, which we really appreciated. What Could Be Improved: * Instruction at Check-In: The person assigned to instruct us was clearly more mechanically inclined and admitted it was their first time training guests. The walkthrough was overly technical, hard to absorb, and not well suited for first-timers--especially with 11 people depending on us. We wish we had received the manual in advance, or even better, a simple infographic showing common procedures (e.g., starting the boat, docking, using the generator). * Safety & Docking Design Flaws: A major issue occurred when another group walking across the rocks used our mooring ropes as support, dislodging the stake and causing our boat to drift. The bridge (gangway) detached and fell underwater, and due to its weight (~50-100 lbs), we struggled to lift it back. This wasn't addressed in the manual, and the design--where the bridge is easily detached and only secured by ropes underneath the boat--feels flawed. While staff were helpful over the phone and eventually explained how to fix it free of charge, we were initially told it would cost $150, which was frustrating. This kind of issue could be much harder for smaller groups or families to handle safely. Final Thoughts: Despite a few technical and structural frustrations, Antlers Resort staff showed professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to help throughout the weekend. The boat itself was excellent, and the free upgrade and strong support helped offset the downsides. However, we recommend that they improve onboarding materials and bridge design for a smoother and safer guest experience. We'd still consider returning, but would come better prepared--and would strongly suggest that future guests request the manual early and ask about bridge/docking procedures in advance.

Most of the staff are busy working on winter repairs of the facility, so if you need someone, call first. Noone will ever answer the phone, so just leave a message. They are responsive. I rented PWC SeaDoo's. They were newer and in good condition. Expensive, but worth it. They are not good communicators, but nice friendly people. Expect to take an hour to rent anything, and another hour to return and process paperwork. It's the only game in town, on the north end of the Sacramento arm, of Shasta Lake. Overall, the marina and docks were in good condition. They have gas too.

Everything just far exceeded our expectations. So nice to arrive to a very nicely air conditioned cabin and be able to return to it after sweaty hikes! The 2 beds we used were surprisingly comfortable as I can usually look forward to an uncomfortable bed on vacation. Once inside we had such peace and quiet. I was so impressed with the cleanliness! The pool is beautiful and also very clean. Thank you all for making our stay so worry free and comfortable. I will give everyone I know who likes this kind of experience your website. We only stayed for two nights but in the short visit we squeezed in kayaks on the lake, floating down the river, fishing and a short hike. The scenery if absolutely beautiful and the cabin was clean and had all the amenities a family could need...which is nice for anyone wanting the "outdoor experience" without actually sleeping in a hotel tent/outdoors:) We took two trips this summer, one to Hawai'i and second here. When we asked our boys what their favorite part of summer break was they said "lakeview terrace"!

DON'T RENT A SKI BOAT FROM THIS PLACE…read more Had a great northern california trip with the exception of the substandard, subpar, partially operating boat and equipment they rented us. The boat couldn't even pull a skiier out of the water, our skiier got injured as a direct result of the "ski" boat (it's not a ski boat, it's a pleasure boat) and skis so old, out of date and damaged (rubber boots ripped) it ruined the day. They also charge more than Shasta. The trim tabs in the cockpit don't operate, you have to do it manually by pressing a button on the engine, and that's only to trim up, you can't trim down. This was an absolute joke, who is going to hang their head over the stern of a speeding boat, reach down near the prop and trim it while you're operating? Their legal exposure is pretty high from our experience. 300 hp Ski Nautique beautiful boat we rented in Shasta: 390 for the whole day. Comes with skis. This garbage place run by teenagers who don't know anything about boats, equipment, or even how to issue a refund to a credit card: we paid $500 for a half day (tax, gas, tube rental, ski rental) The only high point was Rich.. seems like a nice guy, but that hardly compensates for an injury and

The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful while we were there. When we went to dock they were very rushed and unhelpful with us unloading. My wife had to tell them to back off because they almost knocked my 3yr old daughter into the lake. I also witnessed the cashier intentionally hanging up on people calling the marina rather than answering the phone. Now I know what had happened to me weeks earlier when the phone would ring then hang up before it would go to voicemail. The one good thing was the boat we rented was new and clean.

Jones Valley House Boat Review…read more Our extended family just returned from our 2nd annual house boat vacation with Jones Valley House Boats, and we highly recommend this company, this location and this form of vacationing with a group.  We're already planning our return for next year! We rented an Excapade, which comfortably slept 8 people without having to convert the couch or the kitchen table for beds.  We could've easily accommodated 3-4 more people. The boat was really well-outfitted in the kitchen. The BBQ was great! They provide plenty of white plastic chairs and even though both years we brought comfortable camp chairs, we 've decided they really aren't necessary.  The white chairs are awesome! They provide one cooler, a drip coffee maker, and a toaster.  The refrigerator is a full-size refrigerator, so even though we used coolers to transport perishable items on our long drive to the lake, we don't use them during the week because on the upper deck there is a small refrigerator to keep drinks.  We brought inflatable paddle boards, blow-up floating mattresses and fishing gear.   Office staff have been very friendly and accommodating.  Each trip they come out to the boat to orient you and help you learn how to use the boat.  For RVers out there, it's easy! Others will want to ask a lot of questions to understand the electrical panel and take notes during your orientation.  When you arrive, they are so friendly and helpful, bringing large dock carts right to your car to help you load all your items into the carts and drive everything to the front door of the house boat.  They also have someone who drives back and forth from the parking lot down to the dock giving people rides, which is so appreciated especially during those hot days!  Their team is so efficient and friendly at all times.  We researched all the house boat companies at Lake Shasta and are really happy we picked Jones Valley because of their exceptional quality, value, scheduling, and friendliness.  We're already looking forward to our 3rd annual trip with Jones Valley House Boats 2027!
