Came here for some drinks. It was hot out and needed a mango slush with boba. As we walk in, you can feel the air conditioning on. A major plus on a hot day! Hubby orders me a mango slush with boba and my daughter a raspberry yogurt slush with boba. Hubby is not a boba drink kind of guy. I really enjoyed my mango slush with boba. The boba was soft and texture was perfect. It was sweet with a soft chewy texture. I'm such a boba fan. Mango tasted fresh. I see hints of mango in my slush. Perfect drink! Yum! There are tables in the middle, a private room in the back and comfy couches near the entrance. There's also a very clean restroom in the back for guys and girls. It's a unisex bathroom. I like the vibe here. It feels like you are at a Starbucks without the free wifi. This place was one of my bucket list of bookmarked places. I definitely liked the drinks here. I went back today for the 3rd time. It was early around 9:00am and I was the only one there. The owner of the facility was working and he was so kind enough to bring me my drinks and actually went over my previous YELP review with me lol. He explained all the problems I posted (regarding employees and bathroom) and explained why they were certain ways and how he would be fixing them asap. The bathroom is looking much better..so I told him, hopefully by the time I come back that door wont be so squeaky! lol Very nice guy and of course my drinks were delicious! After my...what? 20th? visit I think I have a pretty good feel for this place.. and I think it's safe to say I cannot go anywhere else. If you read my first review, I had some comments to make about the boba and the forgetting of a discount. They quickly fixed that issue, and the next time I came in, I got a complimentary drink. They also explained how their boba was made! It's a different boba, one you usually won't find at corporate monsters in Convoy area. Very good and interesting to hear :) Now, let's get to the good stuff. First of all, my hometown is SF, the capital of boba places in CA. I could not bring myself to like any milk tea with pudding in SF the way I LOVED the Milk Tea with Pudding at Trinitea. I cannot explain with words how I am obsessed with that drink. It's amazing and I beg you to try it and prove me wrong. They have fresh pastries in the window. They recently added French Macaroons and some neat breads. This is my go to drink place. Also my go to Boba tea. Before we get to the drinks. I would like to talk about the service. I go here often and the workers are not over the top but always very considerate and sweet and humble. Today a customer needed to use the restroom and had his hands full, the attendant offered to open the door for him, which I think is so sweet and doesn't get enough praise. I usually stay till closing and they never seem bothered or rushing, they always give me a 10 min warning but let me take my time. The music is usually chill and it's a great place to get your studying done. Now for the drinks, Jasmine and the Matcha are my go tos. Have tried the TriniTea it's also good. The drinks are on the sweeter side but I like my drinks pretty sweet so I'm not complaining. Also the price is good for the drinks usually around $5 and some change. I've gone to places that it has been over $7 for a drink. Definitely reccomend! read more

This place opened up a couple of months ago and I was meaning to come in for awhile and yesterday I finally did. They have a coupon in the local coupon book they send you in the mail. The coupon had expired I guess the 31 but the girl was super friendly and let us use it. Their menu follows the same sizing as starbucks which I thought was kind of funny. Their menu is smaller than the larger chain boba places but thats ok because they had coconut milk tea which is what I wanted. Sean "Gecko" R got the honey green milk tea which was made with jasmine tea. It was very jasmine-y. My coconut tea was very thick almost like they used cream or coconut milk. I think next time I will try something else because I definitely dont want to be drinking cream. Overall I guess I would give this place 3.5 stars mostly because of the friendly staff. They really seem to have an eye for detail and the girl was making our boba drinks for awhile. Its nice to see that they appreciate well made drinks and take their time but if you are in a hurry not really convenient. This is a great place to come study if you go to Grossmont and they even have a separate room with a long table for group study sessions. Finally a place opened up where students can come hang out near campus! I will be back to try something else maybe my rating will be higher we will see! read more

The boba here is decent and actually tasted a lot better than I expected. Price-wise, it's a little bit more expensive than what you'd pay at Tapioca Express. Still, it is not bad at all. If you live in the area and do not want to drive all the way to Kearny Mesa/Mira Mesa to get boba, come here instead. When I came in here, the place was quiet and air conditioned. I walked in at Trinitea out of curiosity and got warmly welcomed by Irene whom kindly and cutely explained us what Trinitea is all about. Their selection of boba iced tea is not only unusual but also very tasty. They've been very nice and offered us multiple taste-sample cups to help us decide our order. Really spacious interior with interesting decoration. I think this would be a good place to study because of the large desks/ample seating. I ordered the trinitea milk tea with honey boba. The drink was mostly milk. I felt like I was drinking sweet milk and couldn't taste the tea at all. If you don't like a strong tea taste, you'll probably like this. The drink wasn't bad by any means, but it didn't really taste like milk tea. The boba was sweet and soft, but inconsistent. Some parts were kind of hard which is really off putting. I don't know if I'd want to come here again just because I've had much better elsewhere. The workers were not very friendly. Clearly their tea is what they are known for. Maybe coming here for coffee was a mistake... I will not come back here unless there are some serious changes made. My boyfriend and I decided to grab a cup of coffee together once he got off work. We were going to head to Starbucks but decided to check out Trinitea as we drive past it all the time and I like supporting smaller businesses. It started off fine, my boyfriend ordered a small cappuccino and I a small almond latte along with a cheese Danish and a lemon bar. Our order was just under $10. We picked a spot over by the window to sit. The bag of the pastries stated "baked fresh daily" and I cannot assume that to be true as my cheese Danish was anything but fresh. It was extremely hard so I asked them to warm it up a bit to hopefully help remedy the problem. It helped but I wouldn't waste my money on purchasing a Danish here again. The lemon bar on the other hand was pretty tasty. My coffee was ok. I can't really complain that it was "too almondy" because it's all in the name. It was at this time I discovered I wasn't as big of an almond fanatic as I thought I was. My boyfriend was not a fan of his cappuccino either and swapped it for a regular coffee. They did inquire as to why he didn't like it which is great from a customer service standpoint. My big issue was the CLEANLINESS of this establishment. As we pulled our chairs away from the walls to play connect four (the only plus about this place) we discovered a variety of dead bugs and spider webs in the corner. Deep cleaning doesn't seem to be popular here. Which immediately made me not want to drink my coffee any longer. If the employees can't be bothered to pull chairs away from a wall to sweep what would make me think they are doing any sort of deep cleaning on the machines? For a small business there is a small margin of error. For a business that is competing with a Starbucks less then a mile away the margin for error is even smaller. I was deeply disturbed with how dirty this establishment was and immediately regretted eating anything that was kept here and no longer wanted to drink my coffee... Maybe it's just me but I'm kind of picky about the cleanliness of restaurants. Oh ya, to top it off, instead of the employees deep cleaning on their downtime they were both sitting in chairs at the end of the bar, texting. If this were my business I would be furious. read more

The place is perfect to wait while my dog is getting grooming. Jazz music background, I am sitting next to window, feeling my body in a very comfortable sofa with the sun ray that I love. I am smelling a fresh herb very deep. The room space is big and clean. The table next to me is holding my new drink that I never had before. Hokkaido milk tea. If you're looking for a perfect place to just chill or to study either alone or with friends, this is the perfect place to be. Has a Really good wifi connection, with a really awesome study hall. Plus they have board and card games on the shelf by the door for their customers to use if they wanna chill there for a little while. Their boba/tapioca is a really high quality one. I don't have drinks with boba often but I was craving for some and went to Trinitea for a blended Thai Tea w/ boba ($3.49 + $0.49 for boba). There is only the choice of "grande" or "venti" but I wish they had the option of a smaller size. Because I'm not a huge boba fan and can be quite picky with the consistency and taste of it, I didn't like the boba here. It's superrrrr chewy! And felt like forever to chow down. Just finished up my first year at UCSD and let me say that SD is a pretty disappointing city for boba. Coming from the Bay Area where there are boba places on almost every corner, living in SD made me feel deprived of good boba. I stumbled upon this place on Yelp and decided to try it out with my friend and we were hooked right away. It is about 30 mins away from UCSD but worth the drive because the drinks are some of the best I've had. My go-to drink is their honey milk green tea with honey boba. Their honey boba is warm, chewy and they also give a good amount of it. Other drinks I've tried are their Trinitea milk tea, jasmine milk green tea, peach milk green tea, and almond milk green tea (all of which are very good btw). Friendly service, has a Starbucks feel to it (aka a great place to study) and overall amazing, consistent drinks. Highly recommended! :) read more

I alternate between here and "Tapioca Express" both have my two favorite drinks but made differently and always taste amazing. I love their setup, it's chill, quiet & fun. Long overdue review. I've been coming here since early 2014 and I absolutely love it. Cute cafe-style boba shop with plenty of pastries. I was surprised they sold macarons here! Usually I have to travel up to the Convoy area for some. LOVE the matte-black straws with the cardboard cup-hugger. Very complementary :) I also appreciate how they have Yakult flavor on the menu, as I grew up drinking those! Their drink menu is pretty wide, just don't expect as much as a selection as Tapioca Express. I recommed getting your drink with the honey boba and egg pudding. So so so good. Air-conditioned, adequate seating, cute and clean bathroom hehe! Workers are extremely polite and considerate. I usually come here on my way home from school, which is literally a 2 minute drive away (Grossmont College). Since they open at 7, I sometimes stop by in the morning before my morning class for a quick fix. Great place to study, eat and hang out. Only thing I can complain about is the parking space, but I can't deduct a star for that because I guess that's the price you pay for being one of the VERY few boba shops (with great quality drinks) around the area! :-) read more

The baristas know the menu and make great recommendations, which is quite helpful. My top three favorites are the almond Trini-Milky, brown sugar Trini-Milky, and the taro Milk Tea, iced. Simply delicious--and all three are caffeine free. Don't get me wrong--there's plenty here for when you need a quick fix, too. Confession time: the real reason for coming here are the macaroons! Eureka! BOBA IN EAST COUNTY! Because, to me, finding gold is pretty much equivalent to finding boba out here. Sure, sure, there's Tapioca Express & Tea Station on El Cajon Blvd, but if you happen to be in this area, Trinitea is worth a try (but not if you're looking for some hot food too). Bottom line is: good drinks, great service! My baby sister & I came here recently & she ordered a Trinitea Milk Tea (not too sweet) & I ordered a hot Almond Green Tea (ahhhhh...just right!). We were pretty happy with both of our drink orders. 3 Stars: Check. However- we also tried the toffee cookie bar & two macarons. The cookie bar tasted so-so, perhaps because it was cold, & the macarons tasted like the ones I've bought from Costco. They were mini, itty bitty little baby ones but cost $1.50 each. The "green tea" macaron had a weird cream cheese-type filing while the coffee macaron tasted super sweet. I was not really a fan. Plus, the green one definitely did not taste like green tea..or in the words of my sister, "It tastes like...the color green." Whatever that means, lol. Also, I wish that they would've asked if we were eating in or taking out, because we got our sweets in paper bags, so when we tried to eat in, it was kind of awkward & messy. All in all, this is a simple little milk tea place, with a layout similar to that of Starbucks. I alternate between Charcoal Roasted Oolong Milk Tea and Wintermelon Milk Tea here. I prefer KungFuTea for Wintermelon, whereas I like the Oolong here slightly better. The first time I went, I tried the Peach Milk Green Tea. All I recall is that it tasted odd and to note to never get it again. It was interesting trying it though. I would have given this place 5 stars because on average, I've had a pleasant experience, but last time I went, I ordered over the phone 10-15 minutes in advance. However, when I showed up, I had to stand in line for 10-15 minutes despite the fact only two people were in front of me. I don't know if the guy at the register was flirting with the girls or what, but it resulted in me standing in line for an eternity, even though I tried to avoid it by ordering in advance. To make things worse, when it was finally my turn, not only did he not apologize, but didn't really give me good customer service. Other than this awful experience, I'd say that this place has good bowls and drinks, but I wouldn't be giving you my honest review without including this terrible experience. read more

I have only been here once and tried the (coconut latte). My review is solely based on the latte and the experience I had. Overall this place way okay, nothing special, and I really don't see myself returning here unless it's for someone else. It had a faint taste of coffee, even with the extra espresso shots I paid for. It tasted like coconut water, sugar, and creamer. Yucky! The store was cute and small, it had a few tables inside. There were quite a few people inside on computers, and the music was soft, so it was relaxing. There were only a few pastries when I went, and they looked like they had been sitting out all day. Not very appealing, so I passed on them. The service was okay, the barista was friendly, but I gotta say I did not like her recommendation at all!!! If you're a fan of red bean, then you need to try the Red Bean Boba here. Trinitea has the most flavorful red bean boba I've tasted so far in San Diego (compared to Tapioca Heaven, Tea Station, Tapioca Express) and really brings back that nostalgic taste of eating red bean desserts as a kid. The other places I've tried are good, but Trinitea has a higher red bean ratio, so you get more red bean goodness in each sip. The honey boba is also super soft and chewy!
