Surprised to see this outlet rated so low. Made an appointment with ease. There were appointments later in the day that I first looked, but I chose one at a time that was more convenient to my schedule a few days out. On a Monday morning. Arrived to find plenty of parking and good signage (not everyone was paying attention to the clear and easy to see signs that explain everything, but they are there). There was an electronic check-in kiosk with one person in front of me. She was elderly (in her late 80s, checking in herself and her hubby who was in his mid 90s) and I had to help her with the sign-in, which I was pleased to be able to do (the machine itself was not terribly confusing, but it wasn't as straightforward as it might have been). I had arrived twenty minutes early and the machine would not let me check in yet. So I sat down (plenty of seating) and tried again in five minutes - it let me check in and I didn't even have time to sit back down before my number was called. A very pleasant clerk took my insurance and ID information and got me set up for my tests (two ordered by the doc: one to take away and one blood draw), then walked me back an introduced me to the phlebotomist. The phlebotomist was also very pleasant and she took care of the blood draw in a flash with no pain. She asked after prospective clotting issues and then told me when I should remove the bandage. And out the door I went - before my appointment time had even arrived. I usually use the Tricore over on Montgomery just E of the Target, but they're closed for a (renovation?) period. This Harper Tricore visit was a great experience - minus one star only because that check-in kiosk could be set up to be a little less confusing for older folks. read more

It's been years since I've had labs done at a TriCore. A mix of it is the lack of having a primary care doctor after Covid and the convenience of Quest to be there for my yearly vampire visits for my works wellness blood draw they practically force us to do for our healthcare insurance. Returning back to why it's been so long I had a primary care doctor prior to the pandemic. Unfortunately they stopped practicing after the pandemic in 2021. So I found myself the last few years on several different waitlists actively looking for one. I finally got a callback 2 weeks ago and got myself established with a new one. After my initial evaluation and describing to my doctor the course of action I'd like to take moving forward for my health she requested some labs to see where I'm at so we can chart a course of action to better my health. Walking in I hadn't realized there was a ticketing system. I just barged in the door and went straight to the desks up front. There was a woman who was on her cell phone who didn't seem like she wanted to be there. When I'd mentioned I had an appointment prior she referred me to the ticket kiosk. Shortly after I was called and directed to which station to go to. The tech I had was friendly but I warned her ahead of time my veins like to hide every time I get blood drawn or get my biyearly infusions. I let her know I've me very few people who can get me on the first try. Sure enough she jabbed me once in both arms and was unsuccessful. This wasn't my first rodeo so I anticipated this to happen so I was very understanding. The tech ended up having someone else come around who luckily didn't have to fish very long and finally got it. I appreciate the fact this place was open on a Saturday just because it's hard to fast and go to work and figure out a time to make it work. It was much easier to get outta bed Saturday and have it done when I was away from work. I'm grateful for that. Other than the lady on her cellphone rudely referring me to the kiosk instead of just helping check me in right away it was an overall decent experience. Normally I wouldn't complain about the cell phone thing but the place wasn't busy when I arrived they could've just checked me in instead of referring me to a kiosk that's what disappointed me. This place takes appointments, acts like an urgent care, and yet doesn't care about the people in need. All about "appointments" even when the person is going through an emergency they tell you to go to another urgent care. This place is a joke and the staff are jokes too. They have zero manners and the care quality is absolutely horrendous. By the time they see you you're basically dead not even a joke Another reason why New Mexico is failing its own. read more

Do not get your child's lab work done here. They do not offer portal access to minors ages 14-17, and they offer no equitable solution for this lack of service. It all has to do with, one can only assume, is TriCore's misinterpretation of the state privacy law. NM State privacy laws for minors are written with the intent to help the minor access care, not the other way around. They do not train their staff on how/when to correctly apply the NM HIPAA laws with regards to minors. It's like whomever made their policy around this didn't have the attention span to read the full statute in privacy of minors, or comprehend its intent. In NM, age 18 is still the age of majority in NM, but there are protections for ages 14-17 with regard to sensitive things, like STDs, pregnancy, drug addiction, and mental health. All good, of course. But TriCore's policy is just plain lazy. It does not distinguish between tests ordered for these circumstances, and the tests ordered for routine healthcare. Therefore, at the age of 14 (not 18) TriCore has taken to refusing to allow parents access to their child's lab work. OK, OK, you might say. So kids can create their own accounts, right? Again - NOPE. They can not. TriCore doubles-down on lazy by not creating a way for these minors to even access their own results. So, to just imagine if you are 15 and want to know the results of your STD test. You can navigate the entire electronic world at that age, but not at TriCore. I guess you have to wait around for a phone call, or a piece of mail . . . or for a call in the middle of class??? Weird. Let me help you out, here (because TriCore wont). lf you are a parent who just needs to help your teenage child navigate their health care, skip the BS and get a Power of Attorney notarized, and deliver it to TriCore. Because unlike every other health care provider, they do not offer a form to complete for patient representation, so POA is the answer to this. With a POA, you still won't have access to a patient portal (accept what you can not change), but you will at least have the ability to get copies of the lab work. read more

tri-core is an incompetent facility. there quite possibly may have a few staff members that patient oriented but good luck locating which facility that would be. And if they are competent and patient oriented they more than likely no longer are employed by Tri-Core. read more

I have been using Tri Core reference labs, on Harper, for all my lab works for a while, and have alway them to be professional and polite. Today the tech, Mellanie, who drew my blood, was not only efficient and professional, but was also very kind hearted and caring. She deserves a big pat on the back. read more

Someone needs to go in and update the website hours and the phone hours to show they open at 7:00am and not 6:00am for the Harper Location. The security guard at 6:00am today was rude with a bunch of us waiting in line. I left and came back just like the rest of us. Tricore sent me a bill even though my insurance does cover the cost of the labs. I tried calling Tricore and no one answered because they were receiving a higher volume of calls than usual. I left my name and phone number for them to call me after 24 to 72 hours and no one called back. I checked with my insurance and was told that they often bill patients even if the insurance pays, hoping to receive the money from the patient sooner than from the insurance company. This all sounds like a wonderful scam. It's disappointing. It made me waste a lot of time and mental energy this week, and then I wasted someone's time from my insurance company who apparently deals with this on a regular basis. So if you receive a bill from them, don't pay it before you check with you insurance company. read more

I would not recommend this lab ( specifically Llano location in Santa Fe. )they are very unfriendly and incompetent. I went in specifically for parasite testing and someone ran the tests but Did NOT include a parasite test. I asked why they did not run the requested tests and was told they cannot answer that question. don't wast your time here! read more

Went to the Tricore site on Jefferson for blood draw. Was seen by Grace. She's a highly competent and personable phlebotomist.

Idk why I happened to read the reviews but I was dreading coming here because of the reviews I had read. First off when you walk in you grab a number. There was only 4 other people in the waiting area and my number was called probably 3-5 mins after pulling it. I dealt with 3 of the staff, all girls who were very sweet . One of them even gave my daughter a sticker and they all helped find my insurance even though I failed to bring my insurance card with me. They drew blood and I submitted a urine sample all within 15 minutes. In conclusion, the people with negative reviews are probably just miserable people looking to fight with everyone instead of trying to enjoy the people they come across daily. I was really happy how quick and friendly it went. I set aside half my day for this because of the false reviews. Invest happy interactions with the world and I'm sure you will get it back in some form . It costs absolutely nothing to be nice to everyone read more

TriCore Reference Lab is an incompetent, New Mexico business!!! We received a Billing statement, August 2023, for labs drawn In July 2023. I was on hold for more than an hour to confirm some aspects of the bill. I paid the bill on Aug. 29th through my bank's on-line Bill pay system which showed probable delivery on Sept. 7th. On Sept. 23, 2023, I received yet another TriCore billing statement showing NO payment made/received. I phoned TriCore, was told that my payment was posted on Sept. 11th, and the current statement I received was printed on Sept. 14th. I was also told that it takes their system up to a month to update posted payments in their billing system. I requested an updated billing statement showing it was paid in full; TriCore did not send it to me. ( I should have spoken with a manager). I reviewed my Bank's statement showing an August 31, 2023 Transaction history of the $20.00 payment to TriCore. So, now on April 26, 2024 I have received yet another TriCore bill stating I owe the $20.00. It was "marked" First Statement which was confusing as I remembered paying the bill in August. Looking more closely this bill was for a Sept. 2023 date of service-Labs drawn. This is the FIRST statement I have received with the different dates of service from TriCore, 7 months later!!! In addition, TriCore has turned me over to a Medical Debt Collection Agency. My next step is a written Complaint to New Mexico's Attorney General's Office for this incompetency. Albuquerque needs a better choice for Medical Lab choices. read more

We like this lab. It's about 1 1/2 hrs from our house. We've always gone in as a walk-in and never have a long wait. The staff is friendly and courteous and it doesn't hurt when they stick you. I like taking a number and it posts the number on the screen in the lab waiting area. Glad to have found this lab. read more

Horrible service. They "forgot" to do one of my ordered lab tests clearly ordered on the same doctor's order sheet as everything else and then act like it's no big deal, requiring me to return for another blood draw and delaying my lab results. I will definitely look for other options to this company in the future. read more

Another "service" provider which was bad to begin with and has gone downhill from there. Give any of their facilities a call and see if anyone picks up the phone to answer a question. Their automated attendant instructs you to go to the website, and engage with a chat agent. When I attempted to do so, the website tells me that "chat" is not available (as of 10/24/2022). Given the absolute surliness of their employees at the testing locations, this must be a place which has high turnover and has a reputation which precedes it among the hiring pool. read more

Got a bill from tricore, gave them my new insurance info to file a claim, they are now saying it was not filed in a timely manner and there is nothing they can do other than me personally pay the bill. this company sucks, go somewhere else even if you have to pay out of your own pocket. they were no help what so ever. read more

I showed up at 6:30 in the morning, hoping that I could get my blood drawn before I needed to be at work at seven. This did not happen. When I arrived there were approximately six other people in front of me. We all sat there for about 20 minutes. I finally asked everybody if anyone had gone in since they had been here and they all just chuckled. At that point, they started announcing numbers and rather quickly. It almost appeared as if the phlebotomists had not shown up until about 645 instead of 6 AM when they're supposed open. I don't know if that's a fact, I just know that all of us sat there with no movement for approximately 20 minutes when they were supposed to be open. Other people did not come out of the back during this time, so that's why I am left to assume that employees just weren't there in time to get the patients moving quickly. After I was taken back, I had a charming phlebotomist named Steven. He worked quickly and thoroughly and did a great job getting my blood. He was pleasant and professional. So overall, a good experience because of the phlebotomist with whom I worked. However I wouldn't breeze into this place thinking that you're going to run in and run out. They seem to be incredibly slow. Either that, or under staffed. read more

TriCire doesn't care about their patients. I had blood drawn on Tuesday. It been 1 week and they still haven't test it. They are saying they are switching machines and they don't know when it will be able to run the tests in their Chemistry department. They don't care that they are affecting people health. They are good people and the experience is consistently professional. Wait time is usually short. Well organized today with COVID restrictions. Waited forever this morning not fun when you haven't eaten and have to be to work. I come here all the time. They have messed up my blood work many times forcing me to come back multiple times then billing me for both visits (yes including their mistake). Many times the blood draw doesn't make it to the doctors office in time so it's a wasted visit. The worst service ever. read more

Tricore lab techs are grate but the billing department is badly corrupt and broken i have always pad my bills with them ended up being turned in a collection agency from them charged fifty dollars and eight dollar for the collection agency i will never deal with bottom feeders like them again they tried to even charge the the wrong insurance providers that i was never with even after providing the proper insurance card before the lab tests read more

They don't go in any particular order and the wait was ridiculous. I finally approached the desk and she said "well I guess I can take you". Oh gee thanks then I was told to stand along the wall I'd be next for blood draw. 3 people later I asked again and was taken back to have blood drawn. My mom and I recently went here to have our lab work done. One the one hand their check-in kiosk never seems to work for me as far as making appointments as my confirmation number is never accepted. But on the other hand after entering a "wait for" number their lab technician, Erica, was unbelievably helpful. She not only was gentle and kind to my 93 year old mother, but she offered to draw my blood too, even though I didn't have a number. I wish all employees would take a page from Erica as it's not hard to be kind, accommodating and professional. read more

After eight months, they FINALLY contacted my insurance company (right before I turned 26, thank Jeebus). The experience still has left me jaded and I explicitly tell my medical provider that I will never use them again. Edit: Just kidding! Got a random bill in the mail saying I was overdue on a payment from LAST YEAR. Even though I talked to a representative who told me that my account had been paid off in January. No, this company does not deserve that extra star. They are either greedy liars or completely disorganized. They should just shut down immediately because they are so bad. If I could give this facility a zero stars I would. Every single staff member I came in contact with who is rude, unfriendly, and didn't wanna be there let alone help anyone. An elderly old man was in front of me who couldn't read the kiosk and every single staff member had a disgust look on their face that they had to help somebody. Tricore labs sent me a bill one year later. When trying figure out why the never turned it in to my insurance. So I've changed insurance since then and my insurance will not cover because I'm no longer with that insurance. So now month later after find out about the bill tricore has turned this bill in to collections. There where in no hurry until now. And now you want your money? But waited year to send me bill or to my insurance... Why??? Thank for working with your customers great job!!! read more

I received a bill that looked in correct and I called them a few times including my insurance company both agreed they would work on it and get it all fixed. Instead of calling me back or working on the issue they sent me straight to collections. So my collections notice, I did the legwork for TriCore. The problem I have is every time I've called TriCore their customer service representatives were completely rude, not empathetic, they didn't even try to understand what I was saying or what I was explaining to them. They did not want to reach out to my insurance company, they only said it's old it's in collections it needs to be paid. Even said what they had in front of them was their electronic system EOB from my insurance and it could not be wrong. read more

I had some blood work done at a local clinic earlier this year and was unaware that I would be charged by tricore. I received a notice in the mail about owing tricore $50.00 I payed it as soon as I received the notice. I payed the full amount on their website and I just received a letter from a debt collector from tricore about a late fee from the original $50.00 I already payed with no mention of a late fee amounting to $8.00 and my credit score was dropped 50 points. I would not recommend doing any form of business with this company, due to their faulty payment system. I received 0 phone calls and 0 letters in the mail about the late fee and any notification of debt beyond there original $50.00 that I payed. read more

The worst lab in town----incompetent, slow and lazy.They "misplaced" checks I sent for payment of services and then sent me to collections. When I called, they said that they have in fact received my check, but did not post it. Now I have to deal with a collection company and Tricore billing department will not provide help or support in resolving the issue. read more

Very unprofessional, been in here a couple times for blood tests and then get poked by the phlebotomist 3 times before she calls to get someone else who has more experience then laughs it off. Then another time going in for a 24hr specimen collection test and didn't receive instructions at all, luckily called the doctor and they told me specific foods to avoid and exactly what to do during collection. read more

I checked in at 8am. Felt very safe regarding COVID procedures. I wish other people checking in was nice to the employees. 2 girls at front was awesome, the guy who took your name & phone was totally awesome and the girl who drew my blood totally awesome.
