Caregivers frequently arrived late or failed to show up at the scheduled time altogether. For families relying on consistent care, this kind of unpredictability is unacceptable and creates unnecessary stress and risk. When someone is responsible for the wellbeing of an elderly parent, punctuality and dependability are not optional -- they are essential. In addition to the scheduling issues, the level of professionalism we experienced from several staff members was concerning. Caregiving requires attentiveness, professionalism, and respect for the people and homes you are entering. That standard was not consistently reflected in our experience. Another major concern is oversight and accountability. The company itself does not appear to be based in the United States, which raised serious questions for our family about supervision, standards, and what recourse families have if something goes wrong. When you are allowing caregivers into your home and entrusting them with a loved one's safety, there needs to be clear accountability and strong management oversight. Families looking for care services should be extremely cautious and do very thorough research before hiring Green Staff. Ask detailed questions about caregiver reliability, supervision, and how problems are handled if staff fail to show up or provide substandard service. When it comes to caring for a parent, you deserve professionalism, consistency, and accountability. In our experience, Green Staff did not provide those things.

What I did not know was that the Executive Director, Jonathan Fetsko, and my brother made the decision that a minimal amount of my personal effects would be moved to the new apartment because what I had in the original would be overwhelming! Hair brushes, hand vacuums, etc.... The list goes on! I feel like I am being held hostage by the vagaries of the individuals involved. Hitler was the last century. An Addendum: I thought I had reached an understanding with Fetsko that I would be able to give a friend of mine the remainder of my personal belongings that would not be allowed in Assisted Living only to find there was no guarantee that they would still be there!!!!! I'm still waiting for Housekeeping to clean my apartment, wash my laundry, etc. which was due yesterday.

I checked with a friend whom I knew had hired help to care for her ill daughter. My friend highly recommended Mrs. Brown and Heaven on Earth. I called Mrs. Brown, interviewed her at my home, and gave her my care requirements. She outlined a plan of care, and we agreed on a start date. The two caregivers she selected were far beyond excellent. Both ladies were polite, compassionate, caring, thoughtful, thorough, and professional. Important to me, they accompanied me to the bathroom and stood nearby day and night. Also important, both ladies kept me and my house clean. They helped me bathe and dress daily. They cooked nutritious meals and left the kitchen spotless. They helped me track the many medicines I was prescribed for healing and pain, and they logged the medicines and times taken. One even went to the pharmacy to pick up a newly prescribed medication. My caregivers encouraged me to do the required exercises and tracked them in a notebook. If I hadn't exercised in a while a caregiver would come to me and suggest that I take a Tylenol and start exercising. After exercise, one would re-attach the ice machine to my knee. A very important task during my recovery was keeping the cold therapy machine filled with ice. The machine pipes ice water through the channels of a special compression pad on the knee. It helps control swelling and inflammation. Occasionally, a caregiver needed to go to the nearby store to pick up a 5-pound bag of ice and anything else that I needed. Everything was done with such pleasantness and a genuine caring. They spoke to me so nicely, as if they were caring for a favorite aunt or mother. They were polite and respectful of my me and my home. It was enjoyable to chat with each of them. When I worked, we evaluated employees in terms related to "meeting requirements". The highest rating was "far exceeds requirements consistently" and that's exactly how I would rate Mrs. Brown and her team.

In a nutshell, they left her mouldering in bed for ten days (never once found her in a chair, and we visited at different times of day, every day). They did not reach out to communicate with the family about their challenges (her motivation - which is a challenge and clearly needs to be addressed, yet they're doing nothing to do so). She had less rehab there than she did at hospital (and that's saying something). She has short term memory loss, and no cognitive deficit. However, the staff don't seem to be aware of (or use) reorientation techniques, which can help to allay the anxiety and confusion caused by short term memory loss. When we finally had the family care meeting, I was impressed with the PT and OT, their understanding of my mother and their articulation of goals. However, there was no follow up communication from the social worker regarding a number of requests. In a nutshell, we are not convinced that our mother is receiving quality care and are actively seeking alternative centers.

He is no doubt proven to be uncaring and flat out was untruthful when he knew nothing was going to be done about it. Cion, the So-Called Social Worker asked if my family member needed a hospital bed delivered at home on the very first day of checking in. Who does that! She also purposely stays hidden during the entire day. She was NEVER true to her words! 99.9% of the Nurses and Assistant's are of African decent and they simply take up for each other. We can't fail to mention, the FOOD there is the Worst Ever!! One of the chef's sits on the far side of the building facility and smokes Marijuana in his car on his break with the door open. It's No wonder the food is horrendous and unhealthy with cholesterol laced eggs EVERY MORNING and, all too often many people complained that the food dishes were unrecognizable! Think twice before you make a important decision for your loved one!
