Terrific location close to shopping, banking and restaurants. All within walking distance. Staff are very friendly, always smiling and they know you by name. The Sales Department was especially very helpful and knowledgeable. The Maintenance staff are quick to respond and helpful. The food is very good. The menue gives you a variety of choices. I especially enjoy the Sunday brunch and special themed dinners. Apartments are nice and spacious and I appreciate the emergency call systems and speakers. I belong to the Trivia club, Comedy Club and Scrabble club. There area always a full calendar of activities and trips to enjoy. Friends are very easy to make and after 8 months I was elected to Resident Council, Member at Large. I am happy to contribute to the well being of our residents through the council. I am glad I made the decision to move to Bedford Court. I am very happy to call this community my home.

The assisted living facility was dreadful. He did not have dementia but the nurses treated him like he did. And they would not help him to the bathroom at night. They told him to use his Depends and ignored his pull chain. He got up by himself, fell and broke his hip and died within a month. It's not continuing care if the assisted living is no good.

Meals are not nutritious, too many carbs & too low protein, nor are they flavorful. My mother has lost weight in the three years she's been a resident because she won't eat what's served. During the COVID pandemic, Five Star has made money by not providing what residents are paying big bucks for. The socially distanced activities are poor. They should be ashamed offering hallway bingo, hallway mixers & a rolling library cart for months! And, these boring, unimaginative & unstimulating activities are provided on alternative floors. Residents go for weeks with nothing. They're also saving money by scaling back the menu & having residents preorder. Much less waste, no serving staff, etc. Attempts to improve conditions have fell on deaf ears. To add insult to injury, Five Star has declined an offer for FREE on-site COVID testing of residents provided by Montgomery County. No reason was given.

It is absolutely a fantastic place in every way: the staff (*terrific*, numerous, always available, extremely patient & accommodating), the food (really delicious & varied), the programs (*300* activities per month), the interior (gorgeous & soothing), the physical setting (lovely & wooded, yet very convenient) and the general overall ambiance. The rental cost is undeniably very pricey in order to pay for all of the aforementioned, but we're very relieved that my mother can manage to afford such a pleasant situation at this stage of life.

From musical guests to special food tastings, outings to local attractions, and more. I especially want to comment on the smart, compassionate management of Seaton when folks get sick. They work hard to ensure residents stay healthy and are taken care of both physically and mentally if they need to pause in-person activities. I greatly appreciate the staff at Seaton. Mary the Sales Director gave me a tour of the building including a studio and 1-bedroom unit (beautiful big windows, great light, modern renovation), the gym and the great room. She also insisted I order from the lunch menu and meet the Chef. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see a veggie burger on the menu and noticed the food choices appealed to a broad range of dietary preferences. At the end of my tour, Mary handed me the lunch I ordered (covid prevented me from dining onsite) that was packed in an insulated to-go lunch box, along with a side salad, a piece of cake and a water bottle. Honestly, I was ready to move in there myself. There is a Starbucks 1 block away and the gorgeous upper Northwest DC setting makes you feel like you're still part of the DC action while giving residents the services and amenities they may need. This is a no-brainer choice.

The staff are attentive and caring and he still has more autonomy than he would in many other places. He did NOT want to go to a nursing home despite his increasing frailty . He requires assistance with all ADLs and medications. He is always well groomed, clean and in good spirits. All the staff address him by name and treat him with great respect and affection. His speech is difficult to understand because of strokes but they are uniformly patient and helpful. Three mornings a week we are together but I do stop in at other times and he is ALWAYS well cared for. Here is an opportunity for socialization that he didn't have at his independent facility in NJ. Meals are in the dining room; many different daily activities. He and I could not be happier with Grand Oaks And we feel that the VALUE is excellent. The wait to enter the facility is lengthy. No one answers the bell, the residents have to see you at the door and yell to someone that someone is at the door. It's a sad state of affairs the care or lack thereof rendered to our oldest and neediest population. This place is marginally better than some of the others that service this demographic but that's not saying much. This place is better than being on the street, I suppose.

The staff was very rude and even throw her hands up to indicate she couldn't help me find ice. My grandmother was here for a month and a half. She walked in happy and very independent. During her stay, she was verbally abused, neglected which caused her to fall and not checked on that lead to bed sores. We had to move her, she was in horrible pain one night. Due to her stage four cancer, she need to feel comfortable. However, she pressed the bell and the nurse came in, snatched the bell out of the wall, and told her to stop using it. When we stayed with her, they never came in. They just walked around in their face mask due to lack of cleaning of the facility. I only saw the other residents when their family were there visiting. Other than that, they stayed in bed and left alone all day. Pay attention to the signs: scheduled visits are not needed. Staff wear face mask. You don't see other residents out of their beds. They told us my grandmother was crazy and she did not fall. I wouldn't recommend this place for dog boarding!

The staff is loving and caring to the patients requiring care there. Attentive to their needs in a timely fashion. Personally, Peter the regular nurse on day duty is excellent. The physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist provided exceptional care in getting her ready to return home. The facility is very clean and provides a safe environment for those who stay there. The food they serve is prepared by a chef and is not institutional food you find in many hospital centers. Mom had no complaints and enjoyed her meals. Administrate process was very easy getting her in and releasing her. Chris was very helpful.
