Just 4 mos before I was told it was in excellent condition. Now I'm told even drive belt is in critical need of replacement. Uh? I decided to get another opinion at the The Fort Lee Getty on Palisade Ave, Ft. Lee. I just drove in to ask how much they would charge to check the belt, since that seemed the most critical. The owner, I believe that is Effie, came to my car, popped the hood, looked and said: 'You don't need a new belt.' And then he pointed to the belt to show me it had no signs of damage/wear and needn't be replaced before 60K miles!. He even went on to state other unnecessary services dealers may recommend. He got them all right! Like a psychic! I think he just knows their routine. He asked for nothing. I will be making my next service appts at Ft. Lee Getty on Palisade Ave.

They will not push you to do work you don't need and they will advise you on how to fix your car as best as possible based on your budget. Right now this is the only repair shop I trust wholeheartedly. The one drawback is that you may have to wait several days to get an appointment because they are very popular (it's a small shop with only two mechanics - Joe the owner and his assistant) but they will work with you if you have an emergency, you will just have to wait an extended amount of time to get the car back. Whenever you drop your car off, be prepared to wait the entire day for the repair or possibly until the next day, but your car will be fixed right and they won't spring any surprises on you. If there's some other issue with the car, they'll call you and ask you what you want to do. I really like these guys they have integrity.

The manager said he was going to put in a factory Hyundai part for me at a cost of $365 total with labor $487. After I completed my research I accepted the steep price. Something told me to check the actually alternator installed in my car because I knew mechanics that would lie and pull the wool over consumers eyes whom they thought knew nothing about automotive... and I discovered he put in a rebuilt low en alternator. There was no Hyundai stamp or sticker just a dirty greasy bar code. When I confronted him about this all he said was "oh well that's what it is. That's the price" The part cost $100 and they put a 250% Mark-up and a lie on it. My family has been going there since we moved up the block when I 9 years old. When I got there they were expecting me they ordered the parts and started working on my truck within minutes of my arrival. So my tire light came on again after literally just having another shop plug or fix my tire two weeks ago if that. I pulled into this shop and they checked my car and told me I would need two new tires. So I took an uber to work and they had my car ready for me by my 12 pm lunch break. I felt like the guys at the shop were very honest with me instead of trying to snow me because I'm a female, I seem to feel like I get lucky when it comes to that. They were concerned about my safety and told me to make sure the uber driver was really my uber driver and not a stranger. Maybe I just have that sucker me look that could be it lol. Overall I had a positive experience with this shop and even though I loved Hewlett House of tires my tires here were half the price and I appreciated that.
