I needed 10 yards of mulch delivered and put out. Dylan sent someone out to give me a quote and he never got back with me. I called Dylan and he gave me the run around and said he would call Chris and find out what was going on. He never (Dylan) called me back...I made at least 5 phone calls. Dylan told me he could not return my phone calls because he was too busy. Poor and unprofessional excuse! He then told me he wanted to make it right with me and had someone else call me, and never showed up. I asked to speak with Dylan and he refused to hand him the phone. Unacceptable!!! Do not use this company! There wasn't any confusion! Dylan was giving his friend Chris some side business to make extra money. Chris did come out and said he would send me a quote and never did. These people are sooo nice and helpful! I bought a few loads of sand and some flagstone for a project and visited a handful of times. They were professional, transparent on pricing, considerate of my time, and even offered advice on my project. I went to another landscape supply store in the area before finding TLS and was made to feel stupid for not immediately understanding how things are priced and was concerned that as a non landscaper and young woman that may just be my experience in dealing with these places. That was NOT the case with TLS. TLS was patient, kind, and a real pleasure to visit. I was surprised how customer forward they were given they're a bulk supply store! Paid for crush-and -run gravel at the Cary store. When we began unloading it, we found that what I had purchased was actually #57 stone mixed with gravel screenings. Why not say "we're out of the product at this time". My crews will have to remove and replace the mixture Trangle conjured up. read more

I ordered 6 yards of triple shredded hardwood mulch and was delivered Tuesday 4/12 around noon. I did not spread the mulch until Thursday. Went outside today to do some trimming and the low hanging leaves on all of the azalea plants are burned. All other ground cover touching the mulch is burned as well. It seems that the batch of mulch delivered was sour. I am having to spend the day to pull back all of the mulch from around plants and to water down. Hopefully the loss of our mature plants is not too great. I have been buying bulk mulch for over 20 years and have never had this happen. I selected Triangle due to the delivery availability. Refreshing an earlier 5-star review to add our satisfaction with not only the quality of the mulch (designer triple-shredded), the customer service, but to also mention the excellent spreading job done by the crew they sent out. They were here before the mulch arrived first thing in the morning, went right to work spreading my 20 cubic yards, and were very careful not to damage our many plantings in the 10 mulch beds that surround our home. Afterwards, the crew boss was meticulous in blowing any mulch pieces out of the lawn surrounding the beds. In the past, we have ordered mulch from Triangle but arranged spreading separately. This time, we let them arrange everything with one phone call, one price, and absolutely no hassle. My husband and I just moved to Raleigh and used their services, Mia was the delivery rep and was amazing!!

The quality from here seems fine, so no complaints there. And, the prices seem fine. I wanted to order 5 cubic yards of soil and 5 cubic yards of mulch. Despite there being no delivery charge over 10 cubic yards, they want to put these on two separate trucks and charge me a $60 delivery fee PER truck. I get that you need it separate and I get that you run your business to make a profit. All good, but that extra $120 far outdoes any good pricing. Just want others to have a heads up as that kills the whole deal. The company seems very busy, so they probably don't care much about this review, but just a heads up to others to shop around a little and to not get stuck with an unnecessary charge (or worse yet, a charge x2). read more

The owner came by this morning and acknowledged our concern and remedied the situation with us. Feel much better about working with them. _____ Don't even consider using these folks! Hired them to deliver and spread topsoil and mulch. The crew was way to small and inadequate for the job: they were getting fatigued by mid-morning and the job was not even 1/4 complete. They had to borrow my tools, (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrow): the dump truck dumped a huge load of mulch on our shrubs damaging them, and we had to keep going behind them to clean after their mess. Called the office and spoke to Debbie about our concerns and just got brushed off. Total Disaster of a job. read more

I have one in response: Good customer service and flexible policies make the world of difference for a business. IF YOU WANT TO SELL ONLY TO LANDSCAPERS, THEN DON'T "PROMOTE" TO CONSUMERS. I called them because the site manager was nice to me a couple of years ago, and they are less than 2 miles from my home. First of all, I agree with other reviews that the hold time is excessive. I tried other days then finally got through today after waiting a few minutes longer than before: hold time was 8mins after a person answered and said "please hold" then clicked off. Spoke first with Brian (impatient and arrogant), then with the female owner (Sandy? Stacey?), who was at first open-minded. Secondly, Brian was a total nincompoop. Kept interjected information I didn't need and kept me from asking questions I had after reading their web site. When I was trying to find a solution for smaller quantities, he actually said "if you have a truck you can pick up". Duh. I can read, and if I had a truck, living so close, why would I pay a delivery fee? Third, I agree that a solution for smaller quantities than are "free" (by charging for bagging), or for a lower delivery charge, is something to develop if you want the direct-to-consumer business. Maybe they don't. Because.... Fourth, per the "owner", they will not dump stone in a prepared parking area adjoining a paved road. Period. They will only dump product on "concrete" (and insist that the City of Raleigh will cite them if they dump any of it on a private street, which is where I am). As referenced in another post, the driver gets stuck if they aren't on a paved surface. Proof that these are private streets was not an acceptable solution. Proof that there was enough room for the dump truck to position with wheels on asphalt and perpendicular to dump location was not enough. Fifth, when a company tells you "you'd be better off going somewhere else" (in this case, using a landscaper or another source), what they are really saying is "we have enough business that we don't bother with anything which requires adapting to your needs". In conclusion, I will tell you that I have been a driver of a 40-ft truck, in tight city and residential streets, with and without a flatbed trailer, and know that the other reviewer's claim of the driver not knowing how to negotiate/navigate is likely true, and I would guess it is based on the owner's directions to a "dirt cheap" moronic driver. They set policies because they won't hire a good driver, instead choosing to alienate customers. "Dirt cheap" is apropos... as it is what the service from this company's services prove to be worth. Price isn't everything, but they want to make it about price, not value. UPDATE AFTER THE OWNER REPLIED...Can't reply to the owner's response, so here's food for thought: if this business is so good to customers, why are none of the reviews five stars? I found someone else who knows how to deal with a truck, small orders, and a property with features which are not uncommon. So I say to the owners: gap wake up and smell the coffe. I went to Triangle Landscape Supply for help! I was working on a project for my new garden area in the yard and needed some nice mulch for what I consider a pretty large garden area of about a 20'x10' space. I was pretty clueless, so I told the ladies up front what I was working on and they were great at helping answer my questions. Not only was Triangle able to deliver the mulch by Friday so I could start working on it Saturday morning, they price was nice and they even delivered! The yard has never looked better. After not hearing back from the landscaper I'd used previously, I called Triangle Landscape Supplies. I left a message and they called back within an hour. The same day I was able to get a quote and service date. On the day of service, they called me in the morning letting me know the mulch I had ordered would be delivered in about an hour, and the installation team would arrive an hour or so after that. The job was done on time and my yard looks great. Would definitely recommend and use again. Fair price, great service. read more

Hired Triangle Landscape Supplies to deliver and install almost 20 cubic yards of decorative stone. Beyond pleased from the moment I walked in the door to the final wheelbarrow going in. They worked with me through the design process and I valued their expertise, especially Debbie Forest, the Site Manager in Raleigh. The delivery crew was so exact with the delivery of the stone - not one rock wasn't where it was supposed to be and the install crew worked hard and diligently, even in the rain. Great value and my planting beds look fantastic and the water drainage issue no longer exists. read more

Got 10 yards of dirt to be delivered and installed. Installer never showed up at all for the 4 hour window. I had to leave a message to find out what was going on. The next morning he called and came out to do it. After 30 minutes, it starts raining. He leaves promising to return at 1:00. No sign of him. Called the company and was put on hold for over 10 minutes. Still haven't seen the installer again 3 hours later. read more

DO NOT USE. After two conversations about what type of soil mix I needed for my vegetable gardens, they assured me that the 50/50 blend of loamy/sandy soil & compost would be perfect for my new raised beds. What they delivered was a dump truck full of of clay, rocks, mulch and dirt. The load of "50/50" they brought would've been better suited to line a pond than to use in a vegetable garden. I never even saw any compost. Again do yourself a favor and use a different supplier for your mulch and soil needs. read more

I wish I could give this company negative stars. My husband had been working for weeks preparing for a parking pad to be added to our driveway. He installed railroad ties and secured them with rebar. He leveled the area intended for the pad. And then he ordered 11 yards of gravel for delivery. The driver showed up as scheduled, however, this is where it went wrong. My husband was a professional truck driver for over 30 years. He tried to suggest how the driver could access the area. The driver felt he knew a better way, and instead of refusing to go off of our driveway (which he should have, according to the Ops Manager), he pulled into the dirt, and got stuck. He dropped the gravel load in completely the wrong area. Then proceeded to mangle our railroad ties and to dig 18" ruts where his tires were. All of my husband's work and all of the money we spent for the railroad ties and their deliver is down the tube. When my husband called to speak with the manager, Rich, he was told "so what", "sue us, we have insurance" and ridiculed by saying "oh, we banged up your poor railroad ties"... Taunting a customer who has suffered at your incompetence? Please, do NOT give this company your business. read more

If I could deal with Joe again, who they fired, I guess I may be happy as he had more pride in the company and the service he provided than the owner. I did order 10 yds of Top Soil (Sand filled crap) and 10 yds of triple shred. It was placed exactly where I wanted it and the ladies in the office were very accommodating at this time. I called for a 2nd round of the same mulch to be put in the same place as last time. The ladies copied the note from the last delivery as it worked well. I get a phone call that morning from the delivery driver (Owner apparently) and he wanted clarification as to where to drop. I explained in detail and pointed out specific things he stated he saw, put phone in his pocket without saying anything after he acknowledged he knew what i was talking about. When my fiance' came home she found the mulch in the front yard on top of the new bed we created and the laurels already in place with no regard for the grass that was present. When I called to get them to move it 20 feet to the proper location, knowing how long it took us to move the last pile to where we needed it, they had the "owner" call me back. I asked how he wanted to correct the issue right before a holiday weekend when I would have family in town and he replied, I dropped it on the dirt patch (speaking about my lawn) like you requested, I can get someone out next week sometime (with an attitude). Seeing as directions were not followed for a service I paid for ( Agreat deal of money I might add) and no consideration was given as to the customers position, not to mention the pampas attitude the "owner" had and the fact that he insulted my yard that I just had treated since we just moved in, I will no longer be using this company for any landscape anything. At least give a credit for the bobcat I had to rent myself to move the pile out of my front yard before a holiday. Beside the amount of money I spent, the crappy customer service from the "owner", my having to spend more money on a bobcat and the amount of sand in their "Soil" (noticed after a few days of rain when it washed through) I can say I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for even a mediocre experience.
