(I thought it odd that a repair/replacement of a liner surrounding a tire didn't require the removal of the wheel, but it apparently doesn't.) I was a customer of Dave's and was disappointed to see that they had been taken over by B Street. However, I found the new shop to be very clean, attractive, modern (but with cool old automotive signs) and spacious, and the people are just as friendly and professional. The work got done as fast as possible and they took care of dealing with my insurance company when my insurance company was dropping the ball. I HOPE I never have to come back, since that means something bad has happened to my car but I would not hesitate to return to B Street - Irvington if that was the case. RECOMMENDED!

To make a long story short, Tires Plus, on 132nd and Maple told me this Ford Escape of my daughter's which I had just spent a bunch of $$ at Tires Plus to put a new AC compressor in and recharge a few weeks ago now needed more work. But, when we tried the AC on warm days and even the day after leaving the place the first time after the repair it was not throwing any cold or even cool air out. When I took it back in, assuming it was under warranty from 3 weeks before, they said it now needed a new evaporator coil. The cost? $1600. I took the car back and took it to Kurt at Acme. He and his mechanics checked out the whole AC system to find out it was only a fuse and now the AC is working great and Acme did that at minimal cost. I will keep bringing my cars to Acme. I took my car here to fix a minor dent/scrape. The final bill was 30% more than their written…read moreestimate. They blamed the extra cost on recalibration, and said they didn't know how much that costs ahead of time. Giving a low initial quote and then jacking up the price once the work is done is downright shady. I will note that I also got a quote from Dingman's that was slightly higher than Kaizen's quote (though lower than the final bill) that did include a flat cost for recalibration, so apparently they figured it out. It took 5 weeks to get the car into the shop, which is fine (every place is busy these days). Two days after dropping it off, they informed me I'd be without my car for 2 weeks, which seemed like a long time for a simple fix (no spare parts or anything). The day I was supposed to pick it up, I called in to see when it would be ready; only then was I informed it would be a further 2 days. Note they never called me. Between the completely wrong estimate, the long repair time, and the complete lack of communication, I would have assumed this is the first time they've fixed a car. In retrospect I should have asked more questions, but I naively assumed that the shop would be honest and accurate in their communication. Then again if they had been honest, I might have chosen a different shop. The cherry on top was that when I got my car back, they had broken the driver-side seatbelt (it wouldn't retract). They did fix it within a half hour (nice of them), but the employee who gave me my keys told me that the guy who had reassembled the seatbelt just didn't care about doing a good job. I will leave it there without further comment.

The driver fender and driver door was damaged, and the suspension was knocked out of alignment. I have a scratch in my driver side mirror that wasn't there after my car was hit. There was some kind of grease on the mirror and driver side window. There was grease left under the sun visor on the driver side. I had a pretty nice Captain America themed steering wheel cover that is now ruined due to one of the grimy workers smearing grease all over the cover and upon trying to clean it, rubbed off most of the color. The cover is now mostly grease colored. Someone at the shop took everything in the passenger side of the vehicle as well as the back seat of the vehicle, and threw it all into the cargo area of the vehicle. Now tell me, why do you need to get into the back seat while doing body work? I can see the floors were vacuumed, which is great, but who gave you the right to throw everything into the cargo area? I would recommend this shop for great work, but I'm pretty steamed about the rest of what they did. And let me add, I didn't ask for my car to be washed. I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I'm that kind of person.

I live 2 hours away and they wouldn't left me have my truck until money in hand and their computers were down so they wouldn't take debit/credit cards. Had to have someone drive me to a bank and had to withdraw cash. (Which is terribly overpriced) i called 3 different places (after the job was done) and Maaco charged $1k more then one and $500 more than the other 2 places. Write a review and they'll tell you to contact customer service. Customer service has not answered or returned any of the 5 voicemails i have left them. Corporate office has yet to return my 3 voicemails i have left them. One of my friends is a lawyer and they said i have MORE then enough reason and pictures (34 in all) to file a lawsuit against this company. Another friend of mine told me that Maaco has been known to rush things and do a horrid job with "not my problem" attitudes. You're definitely not a customer to them, you're just a paycheck.

They just want to get the maximum from a claim and take their sweet old time. The second kind is the one that would take you in when your neighbor's kid scraped the side of the vehicle and is mortified because his insurance premium is about to go sky high. I brought my vehicle to Paco - he personally takes every order - told him the story and how the poor boy has to work overtime to cover the damage. Paco understood my plight - he has a teenage kid too - and fixed the dented door and side panel for $900. The repair was done in three days. Looks better than new. Jaw dropping quality of work.
