Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers

A WARNING TO THE PUBLIC:…read more Do not enter into a surgical contract with Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers / EyeCare Partners. Their team, led by Dr. Aparna A. Shah, M.D., and Stephanie Raley, Director of Surgical Services, overcorrected during my PRK vision correction procedure, permanently damaging my vision. What was a small astigmatism in both eyes is now remaining astigmatism, hyperopia, and severe dry eye disease. Their company has not only denied all wrongdoing, but has shifted all blame on me, the patient, refuses any payout in damages, only offers a refund if I sign a legal waiver for my permanent silence, and has threatened me for calling their offices, or becoming frustrated over their repeated stonewalling, disrespect, permanent injury, gaslighting, threats, lack of accountability, patient blame, and more. This company is ghastly! I have records, audio recordings of their own admissions of guilt, proof of their cover-ups and lies, evidence that they skew eye exam results, and testimonies from several doctors that the damage is due to their own negligence, incompetence, and surgical error. Yet they refuse to accept any wrongdoing. Such horrendous results and permanent damage were not part of the deal. Beware of this company, do not get surgery here! You will be tied up in litigation when they harm you, and you will get nothing out of it but misery.

EVERY person that came in after me got to see someone within 10 minutes. After the 5th or 6th person walked by me going to see a dr., seemingly in some sort of express lane, I finally thought F this and got up to leave. I feel like they must have had something against me personally-EVERY. OTHER. PATIENT. WAS. SEEN. WITHIN. 10. MINUTES. I felt like they were letting people go in to see a Dr. while I sat there forever to ridicule me.

I made an appointment at the Midwest Eye Center in Eastgate to have my eyes checked and to get a…read morenew eye glass prescription. I ordered glasses using the prescription given and it wasn't good. So I called the office and they told me to come back in to recheck it. I saw Dr. Kies both times and he was extremely rude. He told me not to go to his place for eye glass prescription because "he hated it". Why would you take an appointment if you can't give a correct prescription? No only he was very rude, bad also ended up giving me my old prescription from my glasses because he wasn't sure what my new prescription is! I'm shocked that a place that claims specializes on eyes, can't handle the simplest of all things. If he doesn't want to deal with a prescription, then don't take the appointment and my money!! People's time is very valuable. Also, the hygiene at the place is not good. They don't even wipe the tools down that they make you put close to your face. The place where I'm supposed to rest my forehead was greasy, as well as the tool to cover my eyes. I'm very disappointed at Midwest Eye Center and I will be sharing my bad expirience with my colleges, family and friends.

Does not explain anything, and when you do ask him to explain anything or ask him for a letter for work for surgery, he said no, he was too busy. I tried to explain why I needed it, I wasn't your typical elder patient having surgery, I'm in my 40's w a physical job, and my employer would not let me come back to work the restrictions necessary. He said he wouldn't do it until after my second surgery in 2 weeks. Well I'm not getting paid then! His response - that's between you and your employer. Again tried to explain, yes, but if you put in a note the restrictions, our employee health dept would have a medical note. Again he said he wasn't doing it. He was too busy. Finally his poor assistant said she would write the note for him to sign. And with that he was out the door. She apologized for him. Told her it wasn't her fault, but I could tell she was embarrassed for him. With my subsequent appts I will be sure to not have them w him, have not had any problems with the 2 other providers I have seen or with Dr Saed who did my surgery at Kenwood.
