Their super-convenient location is small, but always clean, organized, and a calm environment. If I could give a zero out of five stars, I ONE THOUSAND PERCENT would!…read more I brought my standard poodle to Bark of the Town for grooming and unfortunately, I left very disappointed. While I understand that matting can be an issue with poodles and this was discussed prior to the appointment the decision made by the staff here was extreme. The groomer decided to take her coat down to the lowest level and even completely shaved her tail -- something I was not expecting or prepared for. What upset me the most was that I was not contacted before such an extreme measure was taken. I was made aware of this possibility but to take such liberty with another's pet and member of the family is uniquely appalling. A simple call to discuss options, or at the very least to inform an owner this is the recommended course of action, would have made a world of difference. Communication is key when it comes to caring for our pets, and this lack of consideration has left me unable to return. Furthermore, if a cut such as this is to be deemed necessary for an animal I would, at the very least, expect it to be even and the paws, toes and webbing to also be properly groomed and cleaned. The person who groomed my dog, did a horrible job! My dog's paws were not shaved well, and she was unevenly groomed. They even shaved her tail, which we did not ask for! Unfortunately, we will not be retuning to this groomer. It was a horrible job! I hope this feedback helps improve their communication with clients in the future.

I told them he was too hot with all his fur but was very concerned about what he would look like if he were completely shaved. I was assured that I didn't have to worry, that they would make him look cute. When I picked him up I was in shock. He looked horrible. Entirely shaved down to nothing except most of his head. Having given not much for direction, I won't even hold that against them as the idea of cute is subjective. The concept of a good job is not however. The lines were so choppy as if no effort to blend was taken at all. They shaved half way up his face and then just stopped. Picture submitted. The line on the back of his head isn't even kind of straight or blended. Though I appreciate the ability to get us in right away, I now know why they weren't busy. Thank you for being friendly and warm but I regret to say that we won't be back. Two stars are merely for the convenience of the appt and the friendliness of the staff, and not a one for the job that was done on my dog.
