I have spent more years of my life in PT for something than not. I have had a ton of injuries and some of those have become chronic - painful, limiting range of motion, etc. I can tell a good PT from a great one, have seen PT aides of ALL kinds, and I know knowledgeable and efficient administrative staff when I see them. I've been in and out of both Tri City PT and the same company's Carlsbad location. I have worked one-on-one with a lot of the therapists and aides - Chris, Dennis, Ryan, Hawaiian shirt Dave, Corey, even the other Dave! I've also spent plenty of time working with front desk Terri trying to untangle sticky insurance problems and to schedule appointments around my busy life. If I need PT, I call TCPT. Is Tri City PT perfect? No, but as a collective they're a solid 4.5 stars worth of darn good and they're a leg-up on many other places I've done PT. Are some therapists better for some things? Of course! I've read the negative reviews and I don't think they're fair. If something isn't working for you, you need to tell your PT and/or the aide you're working with. Never once have I had a therapist at TCPT blow off a suggestion or request I've made. And if a certain therapist doesn't seem like a good fit, it's ok to book your next appointment with a different one. PT is not a cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all sort of thing. Bodies are weird! Two people can have the same injury yet benefit from very different PT plans and different PTs prefer different modalities and tools. Frankly, I have noticed that some of what I'd call out as potential problems at Tri City PT actually aren't the fault of anyone on site. It seems like the powers that be (owners) sometimes make changes that then cause problems for patients - that the staff just has to go along with and cope as best they can. I'll also say that a lot of the tables and equipment are getting fairly ratty and looking quite dated, but again, that's not the staff's fault. I wish the different locations wouldn't trade staff around as much as they do so it'd be easier to stick with a certain PT once you've found one you really like, but at least the shifting around has let me work with a bunch of different PTs with different styles over the years. Bottom line: I keep winding up back at Tri City PT whenever my body needs a tune up. They're friendly, competent, and have done right by me and a lot of other patients. I'm not the only one who's been with them on and off for years and I think that speaks for itself. read more

Not a fan of this PT facility. One time I was asked "well what kind of exercises did the other therapist do? What? They don't know what to do for my problem? I thought they were Ok until I was transferred to PRN. PRN is fantastic compared to Tri City. Do your homework before going to any physical therapist. read more

Similar experience to others. They called insurance and wanted the balance of our deductible paid in 4 payments. I see other doctors and have ongoing out of pocket expenses. Never had an office request payment for deductible up front EVER. Receptionist said that's how they do business. Stay away lots of people with billing issues read more

Wow!!!!!! Tri City is hands down the BEST Physical Therapy clinic in North County. And I've been to many clinics, but none like Tri-city. Tri-City goes above and beyond to CARE for EACH and EVERY PATIENT!! From the front office manager, Terri, she sets the tone with a big smile and so helpful. Her diligence to get all the insurance paperwork handled promptly, so therapy can start right away when you need it. Everyone at this office cares about you and getting you back to your optimal shape! The physical therapists are top notch. Chris and Janet do HANDS ON therapies, including massage work to get your joints aligned properly and with their strengthening exercises, I have gained most all of my shoulder mobility back. Still working at it!! They are getting me back to 100% soon enough!! I absolutely love the vibe of this clinic because they actually CARE about your improvement and the process. The aides are AMAZING. From Bri and Alyssa, Ryan and Shane.. they provide ultrasound therapy and muscle stimulation treatments while assisting you with ALL your exercises so you stay motivated and with proper form. ALL the staff treats you like family and they always bring a good laugh and smile to my face. During Covid when everything was shut down, their office remained open, while following all the guidelines. Very thankful for Chris during a difficult time in my life to help me understand my injury and work to make things better. Chris and the entire staff is very knowledgeable and truly care about their patients. Everyone is extremely kind, professional and attentive. I have NEVER written a poor review, but this one is unacceptable. BEWARE! WHEN I called for my first appointment and they called my insurance and got approval. They said my portion would be $68.00 for tbe first appt, because you see the Physical Therapist, and $7.00 for each additional appointment. No problem. Then I get a bill for $82.00, disturbing. $50.00 (in photo) is for a piece of paper with exercises on it to do at home. You can get this on the internet. I called 5 times to contest, they make excuses and blame insurance. This is why our medical costs so much because of BS charges billed for services. In closing, I will say the Physical Therapists here are top notch, too bad they are backed by BS like this. Office staff likes to argue and interupt! Go elsewhere. This comes down to a $50.00 fee that could have been better spent. read more

Forgot to tell me to ice down after the exercises, kind of a 3 ring circus approach with multiple clients being instructed by one therapist & an aid. They do not take HSA cards or bill insurance, really inconvenient expensive & ultimately poor guidance. read more

(Quick Review) Recommend the Scripps Ranch clinic. Great people and great service. (Detailed Review) I've been getting vestibular therapy at the Scripps Ranch clinic for about 5 weeks now and they are very professional. They are constantly cleaning equipment after patients use them and everyone has masks on. They are also a great bunch of people, very friendly. Everyone is very polite, from the front desk to the exercise room. Stephanie (who does my PT) is very nice and easy to talk to. And they have the best music I've heard at a PT clinic. The only issue I can think of is that this place can get pretty crowded, depending on the ebb and flow of other patients that day, but they always have a bed for you and try to space everyone out on the equipment. I've been to quite a few PT clinics and at this point most of the exercises are the same, but its the individuals who work at these places that separate the good clinics from the great clinics. And this is one of the greats. (May update this after the end of this round of therapy, but I feel confident in saying what I have said. Hope you're staying safe out there.) read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I'm not an inflammatory Yelper. I'm fair... I say it like it is... and I normally prefer to write *good* reviews. But this place really deserves a low rating. I wish I would've been cautioned to go elsewhere. I went to PT here for tendonitis in my elbow. The woman who treated me was lousy (Lisa - she's a surfer, and is very grumpy). First of all, her bedside manner was terrible. She chided me for many things, despite the fact that I was 100% compliant and came to every appointment. She was always complaining - about everything and anything (the office, the weather, other patients, me, etc.). I asked the front desk for a new therapist, but was told that would require a new evaluation and a re-start of treatment... and at that point (about 1/3 through my insurance-authorized # of visits) I had already observed the other therapists, and they all seemed to do the same treatments (all elbow people get xyz) although the others had MUCH better bedside manner, and I didn't want to have to start all the way over. The best point in my therapy was when my therapist was gone for a week. The substitute - from an outside employer - was SO sweet (a breath of fresh air), and even better, she changed my treatment plan to something more effective! My therapist was able to fix half of my tendonitis (thanks to the better treatment plan the sub came up with), but couldn't figure out how else to help my elbow. So at my last appt, she told me "You're going to just have to come to terms with the fact that you have a bum elbow." Um, WHAT?! Isn't that what PT is for?! I'm in my 30s and "a bum elbow", b/c a PT is terrible at her job, is completely unacceptable. (I have since consulted an orthopedic dr, and he said I have double tendonitis - both "tennis elbow" AND "golf elbow", but she had only treated the one.) It seems like this place is mainly for treating old people on medicaid. They crank them in and out. The treatments are very rote: you're an elbow person, here's what elbow treatment is (regardless of what your elbow problem is). Overall, my experience left me hardly better than I'd arrived. Terrible therapist. And no customization nor thinking outside the box. ANYWHERE has got to be better than here. read more

So the 1 review for this place is a bit harsh. I was seen in this office for pulled tendons in my hand. The other review was about Lisa and Lisa happened to be my PT also. She is a surfer, very talkative, and I guess she is not everyone's cup of tea. I found her refreshing, we always had lots to talk about and her assistants were very attentive. If I needed her to massage harder I just asked. She is easier than Dennis or Chris but speak up for yourself if u need more pressure or better stretching. I didn't have Dennis or Chris work on my hand but have heard great things about them and they were always sweet. If u need aggressive use one of the guys for deeper pressure and let Lisa be for the softer stuff. I would go back for treatment if I could and would recommend this office to friends. read more

Like all the other reviews said everyone here is terrible. Chris really doesn't seem interested or even paying attention to what he is doing and most of the time he is just sitting at the computer. The aides are completely worthless and don't offer any guidance or help unless you specifically ask and while you are lying there waiting for them to tell you what to do next all they are doing is gossiping among themselves ignoring you. I adore working with Dennis. I don't have experience with Lisa or Chris but Dennis is top notch. Always friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I came in for an ankle injury & was referred by my doctor. PT is definitely helping me. I mentioned some other pain I was having elsewhere & he immediately checked me & gave me advice on it! My only minor complaint is that the assistants aren't quite as friendly or attentive. They are nice but not warm. But they get the job done. I feel lucky to have found Dennis! read more

I went here for a few months after a car accident. My shoulder blade, mid back and neck were pretty sore. I had Chris as my therapist. I was pretty happy at first. But then I became pretty disillusioned. I'm not sure if Chris likes his job very much, but he not at all present and did the EXACT same thing for weeks (even though there was no improvement). When he did massage (if you want to call it that), it was sort of like a 2 year old rubbing your back. No pressure and no seeming intent - not to mention, he hardly paid attention and had conversations with others while I was on the table. Also, didn't monitor my exercises at all. When it came to renew, he didn't even give me a new assesment or ask me any questions. After several weeks, I asked to change up some of the exercises...he thought about it a long time and gave me one. To me he is just phoning it in. Dennis, however, looked pretty great. I wish I had had him and their front desk person (although not terribly personable) is really efficient. I finally found a chiropractor that helped me MUCH more than his therapy did. Before I stopped going, He was supposed to come up with some neck exercises for me. I ended up cancelling my appointments with him (because he wasn't helping) and asked they email me the exercises. I called twice and they said they would. I never received them. I spent a few months with them - I think that was the least they could do since they didn't really help me. Not impressed and wouldn't recommend - except maybe Dennis. read more

I've never felt uncomfortable here. The treatment I received for my hips was outstanding. I feel stronger. I know I will always remember the exercises and treatment I received here to gain progress over the years to come. The therapists, assistants, and receptionists all were so welcoming, attentive, and helpful.
